Early that morning as the sun broke the horizon, casting its first rays over the cold, autumn day, paperboys would be seen on various street corners in every district of Baldur's Gates, crying out as they hawked the premiere edition of the Baldur's Gate Herald for the low cost of four silver per issue. Bartenders and tavern-owners all through the city would have a copy or two in their bars for patrons to read, claiming either a man in finery or a woman in bright blue robes came by to drop them off. As they were passed around from person to person they would eventually become dirty, smudged, or torn, encouraging the citizens to go out and purchase their very own copy of the digest.

---Late in the day, Morninglord Tolan is seen walking through the Palace District of the city. His ordinarily white robes are stained with blood in several places from the waist down, and his yellow cloak bearing the symbol of Lathander is missing. He is last seen entering the Helm and Cloak tavern in the Palace District, asking for the keys to his usual room.

The Thayan Enclave seems to be buzzing with irritated merchants and representants as they are turned away from the Enclave.

All daily appointments were canceled without prior notice and no explainations were given to anyone.

Rumours of illness and concern of the Khazark's health spread across the city.

It is said that Selis Vhaire was spotted at the Duchal Palace, where she spoke with the Grand Narlhelm for a brief time before being escorted by a Flaming Fist guardsman to the private estate of Lord Heldrun Tosketh. There, rumor holds, she remained for a few hours before quietly departing.

A tall dark man in black robes can be seen placing a number of flyers around the Gate. They are written in a strange tongue in the Mulhorandi letters, and are inked with a symbol of a black gloved hand holding a coin at the top of the page.

((Should you read Chessentan (Or can cast Comprehend Languages), the text of the flyers read as follows))
Hidden: show
Fellow Hunters of Vengeance, the time for gathering has come.

Too long, injustice and evils have had free reign over the Sword Coast.

The thunder is roaring. Once.

Twice.

Thrice.

The Doombringer is coming.

Heed his call to arms, that Vengeance may be delivered.

---Dawnpriest Tolan is seen walking through the city, going back and forth between the Palace District and Maltz's and Aello's shops in the East Gate District several times, sometimes pulling a cart with assorted items behind him after a visit at the shops. Whatever he is doing with the items, and why he is taking them to the Palace District, is anyone's guess.
---Near the end of the afternoon, word begin to spread that a temporary shrine to Lathander have been constructed just west of The High Hall of Wonders in the Palace District.

// For more information: Baldur's Gate - The Portal Rose - Shrine to Lathander

// Updated to clarify that the shrine is temporary for now, hency why it is sometimes not there IG.

A new notice appears on the bulletin board in the East Gate district of the city. It is scribed in neat flowing handwriting and reads as follows:

Hiring one guide and two guards for an expedition. The requirements are:

- the guide should have a vast knowledge of the region, particularly around Gullykin
- the guide should be an expert dungeondelver
- the guide should know their way around Durlag's Tower
- the guards should be able to handle themselves and keep the other members of the expedition out of harm's way
- all three should be skilled adventurers
- Insight into the history of Durlag's Tower is a bonus

The pay and other details can be discussed once we meet in person. Leave a response here, or contact me at the Shelf of Many Books in the Palace District.

On the 10th of Nightal, Telia Navra could be seen approaching the city of Baldur's Gate accompanied by the priest of Ilmater, known as Ameris Santraeger. She willingly presented herself to the Flaming Fist by the gate. Soon more guards approached, words were exchanged and those watching may have gathered that her presence had been expected. The woman allowed herself to be bound and gagged with no fuss.

Ameris and Telia were then escorted to the Flaming Fist Headquarters, where they both were allowed to enter. After some hours, they both stepped outside, Telia no longer bound and clutching an important looking document in one hand.

It is rumoured that the former Zhentarim agent received a pardon from the Dukes of the city, under the surveillance of Moruene.

The Helm and Cloak Inn, in Baldur's Gate's Palace District, played host to the Foreign Exchange Committee's monthly meeting this month. Those paying attention to politics and trade in the region would probably recall that it was hosted at the Merchant's League building last month.

Rumors say that the meeting lasted nearly four hours.

Representatives from a number of important regional organizations attended again this month, including delegates from the Merchant's League, the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange, the elven village of Doron Amar, the Order of the Radiant Heart, Candlekeep, the Order of the Silver Rose, and the Order of Lions.

The Elder Circle, the Light-Bringer Society, and the Everwatch Knights of Helm were also said to have been in attendance, and to have spoken on matters relevant to the committee's interests.

What exactly was discussed remains a mystery, but most everyone looked tired on leaving the meeting.

On the notice board in Baldur's Gate, and in various inns and taverns, a poster is placed in clear view.

A dark-clad man was escorted in chains by a Paladin of Helm to the Palace District in the late evening with no small supply of holy rollers and knights contently cheering in triumphant resolution, however, the accused was released after hours of questioning and deliberating due to some kind of technicality. Those who frequent the Gate would probably gain the details easy enough.

The now-disappointed Paladin of Helm,Arkaine, leans forwards and grasps Valiant's wrists with his large gauntleted hands and growls.
"I will be seeing you around, Villain.."

Valiant: Shrewd, sadistic disguise-strategist; retiring

A tall man in dark garb flanked by two moon elves may have been seen speaking with a half-orc Paladin of Helm outside of the city gates. The Helmite was by far the louder of the two, and at times the discussion was quite heated, but by its end the two men shook hands at the gates of the Chapterhouse and went their separate ways without enmity.
