A ginger man took the podium in the eastern town square earlier this day, addressing an initially small, but rapidly growing crowd of curious people. Nary twenty years of age, his dark eyes were ablaze with the fires of devotion and unshakable belief. He was gaunt and willowy and wore a black cuirass that contrasted heavily with the pallor of his skin. Upon it, embossed in exquisite detail, was a jawless skull superimposed over a sunburst flanked above by two smaller death's heads that were reminiscent of the Myrkulite and Bhaalist faiths. And despite lacking the fullness of depth that came with manhood, something made the youth's voice inhumanely compelling as he delivered the following proclamation.

"Good people of Baldur's Gate, today I come before ye bearing joyous news! From the slopes of Mount Waterdeep, a Black Sun rises, illuminating all with its dark brilliance! Mine eyes were almost turned to ash in their sockets from beholding such ineffable majesty, for mortal eyes were not meant to bear witness to the birth of stars. My sight and sanity were preserved by the Lord Cyric, for He charged me, a base wretch, with spreading His One True Way to all them that draw breath in the Heartlands. Take heed for these words come directly from Him, the almighty:

Cyric! None has the right to be worshipped but He, the ever regnant Black Sun, the one who rules and eclipses all that exists. Neither age nor sickness overtake Him. To Him belong the souls of the True, the False and the Faithless. All glory be to the Black Sun.

And He is Cyric; there is no deity higher than Him. But fear and obey thine earthly rulers, for all authority stems from Cyric, but to Him render thy most high praise, for His is the final decision, and to Him thou wilt be returned upon death and by Him thou wilt be judged.

Yea, Cyric is the One True Way, and that what they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because Cyric is the One and the All. The Most Mighty, The Dark Prince, possessor of the threefold crowns of Strife, Death and the Dead - no other way is there to the Hereafter except through him; therefore, forsake thou all thy false gods, that the remittance of thy sins may be wrought of the Dark Sun in all His magnanimity. There is no deity higher than Him; to Him is the destination. Verily I say all this unto you, for I am His Apostle."

Rumours say the Captain of the Whistling Wanderess made her rounds in the city, personally visiting the crew's residences throughout. It seems, despite being grounded for the past few months - the crew still gets paid somehow.

The elven woman seemed incredibly uneasy the moment she passed the city's gates, and hurried back out and away from the dead magic as soon as she made sure the crew were well.

Recently a young woman with raven black hair, known to some as Sabrina Kross, who arrived to Baldur's Gate not so long ago, has been seen sitting on a bench by the fountain in the East Gate district, carefully scribbling something that looked like a very personal letter.
She was smiling as she was writing down more and more. Who was she writing to? Did she send the letter? Or maybe that was not a letter at all? Maybe she was writing down some hot gossip to post it anonymously on the local news board? Oh, such mystery!

Watchman Asen was clearly seen in the East District and Harbor dealing with one of the new street preachers. Clearly not allow of the citizens agreed with his actions, with some shouting after the guard and his apparent prisoner.

A large man dressed in green that many would recognize as the Archdruid of the Green Enclave is seen heading through town and towards the duchal palace. He steps inside for a few brief moments, and then steps back out. He doesn't stop anywhere else in the town as he leaves the city to head back south.

Echoes of the People's voice in the Duchal Palace

In preparation of the announced High Court, the Temple of the Broken God wishes to invite all who may feel the need to share words, whether they are concerns, hopes or suffering. Open permanences will be held regularly until court is held within the Sanctuary of the Broken God. People who wish so can find Sister Ashenie. Messages expressed publicly or privately shall be forwarded anonymously in a specific report towards the Duchal Palace.

Several disticts of the lower city will be reached in the coming days to allow those unable to move or unable to reach the Sanctuary to express their needs.

In hope that united voices would help the city find a better future,

The Temple of Mystra and its Azure Arcanists may be granted exception in the decree on casting. This decision has been made to carefully and responsibly work towards efforts in destabilization of the weave. The Flaming Fist acknowledge and respect the need for this research and will be placing our trust in the Temple of Mystra and the watch of Baldur's Gate.

Osric once more visits the Lords' Alliance Embassy in the harbor district to deliver letters to the cities of Berdusk, Iriaebor, Scornubel and Elturel. The letters are short and direct, beseeching representatives of those cities to be present at the next session of Duchal Court.

If not on patrols done by Azure Arcanists, or in local Bibliotheca, Sabrina may be often spotted in Elfsong Tavern. Young sorceress, usually surrounded by her friends, recently spent some time all by herself, sipping tea by the fireplace. She had a grim look on her face and was scribbling something with a quill on a piece of parchment.
Rumor says that even though the Weave is stabilized, she still can't fully control her arcane abilities... She's still young and quite new to her sorcery, some slack could be given to her. But one question remains. Does she pose any threat to the safety of her friends, or even Baldur's Gate?

Recently a new faith has come to Baldur's Gate. It is relatively unknown and offers many promises of reward and punishment. This new patron is known by his name, Cyric. While many have heard the sermons of his faith I will share with you publicly the knowledge that was shared by The Blackstaff of Waterdeep, Chosen of Mystra, Master Khelben Arunsun.

Cyric has replaced The Dead Three. Bhaal, Bane, and Myrkul. He has taken up their mantles of evil and torment, with promises to place torments upon the souls of decent folk to acting in decent fashion. His preacher that many have heard from, that many of our merchants have lent their ear and taken up his mark, has freely spoken of how Cyric has taken the place of Bhaal. These merchants freely wear the mark of the mantle who so tormented our city, its people, and most notably targeted the children of our great city. Many will speak of this new god, there will be questions and few answers but this much I know for certain.

The goddess of magic, Mystra, has declared him her foe. A goddess who takes no sides has sided against this foul being and her chosen offered this warning. When asked about the defeat of The Dead Three and their replacement, Master Khelben Arunsun responded.

"With this one, I don't believe it was a victory."

The laws allow his teachings, for now. The laws allow his name and his sermons, for now. Our people will tolerate a brief time of learning but make no mistake that those who take up the cause of this new god are acting in the stead of our lifelong enemies, they simply chose a new name to hide their evil behind.

The Captain of the Whistling Wanderess is said to have visited the temple of Tymora with a small donation of coin. She also tossed some coin into the harbour later on. She appeared to be in a hurry throughout, relaxing only after away from the Dead Magic zone. The Whistling Wanderess remains out of port.

A ginger youth can be found discussing the contents of the recent notice with every set of willing ears near the billboard.

"Trust a goddess who elevates select mortals as Her CHOSEN to take no sides ! What a joke ! What a ludicrous thought. Let me tell you what takes no sides; it is death and the Lord Cyric is the master of it in all its innumerable forms. Death is uncaring and it comes for all, and when it does, Cyric will be your judge. Denying this all-encompassing truth makes it no less real than the certainty of death itself."

"Do not allow moralizing fools like this corrupt guardsman to drag you with them down into perdition ! He is a False follower of the zombie god Torm, who refused to follow his master's host of souls into battle against the Black Lord, and now dreads Cyric's judgment in the Hereafter."

"He has hounded me every step of the way, inventing justifications and non existent laws quicker than a Leiran lies, in a futile attempt to keep the Black Sun's truth from you all. And as his frustration mounts, so will his lies and slander. So remain steadfast in your faith and the One True Way, and allow not vipers like this disgraced zombie worshipper to drip venom into your wise rulers' ears about Cyric, but silence their lies with extreme prejudice."

Returning to the Gate after assisting with the defense and repair at Doron Amar a lithe silver haired workaholic often moves through the streets near triadic temples in quickened step to preparation and tasks to complete.
