Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A man carrying a fire genasi would have been seen walking the to Baldur's Gate flanked by a rapidly moving hin and an elf that seemed to be discussing the genasi's condition. When requested by the guards, the mask on the genasi was removed and the group made their way to the Temple of Ilmater. After the elf informs the sisters of the genasi's near death and alleged insanity, the man placed the genasi on an open bed. After tying the genasi's feet together and one arm to the bed, the man hands an apple to the elf and leaves. The elf remains near the bed and awaits word from the sisters.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Three deep rolls of thunder can be heard on the Trade Way between the Friendly Arm Inn and the Gate.
Just south of the Wyrm's Crossing near Baldur's Gate a pair of bodies are found on the roadside. A grisly scene, a man with wounds of the blade, slashing wounds at the throat and abdomen, and a search reveals their coin-purse is missing. Near the first body is another, this one is scorched badly, barely recognizable as a male human, though no more can be determined from the burnt corpse. Between the pair is a single silver coin; marked to have been minted in the year 1310 DR. The face side displays the profile of an angry soldier wearing an iron helm. The other side depicts a mountain's peak, over which hovers a thunderous storm.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A shadow stalks the lower sewers of the Gate, slaying the storm druids and various elemenetals and shadows that dwell, searching for the source of the pulsing darkness and the visions of another Baldur's Gate. Trying to travel there once again.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Cloaked under the shroud of coming night and the mask of shadow, a figure lurks. Back to the wall and ankles crossed, they wait. Pockets and purses are relieved of their burdening weight, from light fingers and quick action.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Strolling along the farmlands of the gate Adomander the teifling can be seen running into a orc . They exchange names and the giant man known Arkaine Grandmaster of the Radiant Heart claims to know one of Adomander s brothers. The giant orc man then starts to taunt Adomander about his brother having no honor and all like him would die. The weapon master teifling does not take kind to the bloodthirsty orcs words and tells him "sure I'm a coven associate " having half his family being Coven of Darkness. Adomander walks off not wanting to listen to the giant man's boasting of who he will kill , when almost to the Thunders ride the very large orc comes charging screaming your getting taken filth of darkness having no clue he was charging a follower of Helm.
The massive man draws his warmace and begins to attack the weapon master savagely smashing him in the chest, this angers the protector and helm guardian weapon master Adomander and he draws his blades one bathing in fire and the other dripping acid. The giant man continues to smash the weapon master until the teifling starts to twirl his blades performing his dance of death scoring massive gapping wounds in the giant man . After a few of the devastating gashes inflicted the orc stops swinging and begins to chug healing potions. He manages to get a few of them down before falling to his knees helpless. The weapon master blinded by survival keeps sticking until the giant war mace clangs to the dirt , fearing the threats made by the giant man in a instant the weapon master strikes one last slash taking the giant head clean off sending it to the dirt.
Many fist see the short but very intense battery and rush over to the sight of the massacred orc and the bleeding weapon master Adomander replies" you all saw him attack me no weapons out I had to defend myself " sheathing his blades the weapon master walks off surprised a member of the Radiant chapter would have such bloodlust and ignore fist law so close to the gate. Seeing Vali, Gruel and another female aproach makes the weapon master relax and the four walk into the wild land known as Thunders Ride.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
In the middle of the day, ditching her mithral for leathers, A half elf with dark hair and toned form is seen entering the docks (Some would know her as Vali). Producing a bag of coins she hands it to the dock master, she gives him a flirtatious smile and flicks her hair.
"One way ticket to Luskan please, although you could always join me"
She takes her ticket and sits near the water until her boat arrives, where she dissapears not even bothering to look back.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Candles are replaced, lit, and offered to a power whose shrine is locked from the public, and out of the minds from those that would defile it. Only those with the skill know how to find it, if they look hard enough.
Prayers are offered in a whisper, in a fear of being heard. Coin is placed upon the altar, to appease a power who is more masked than those who hide their faith of Him. A shadow enters, but they do not leave from the door in which they entered.
Below the homes of the unaware, under the streets of a bustling city, and out of sight from most, a figure retreats to their own sanctuary. . .
Darkness.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
For a few days an armored man has been posted near the Gate in the East Gate District. He wears the symbol of an open eye. Leaning against the rockwall behind his wooden sign with a pensive look if not busy with anyone asking about his service. Only a few seems to be interested in his services. Apparently sign offers armed escorts on behalf of Temple of Helm to travelers and the like, for free.

In the East Gate district, a small woman is seen coaxing a very sick dog towards the temple of Ilmater, by way of smoked fish.

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate

In a dim lit room hidden far from prying eyes a crystal wineglass is set upon a stone altar. A figure in long strange robes kneels there. A steel mask covers his countenance as he goes about his work with a slow and well repeated precision. His left hand clasped tight it hovers above the glass before releasing the gold coins which fall for the better part within but some straying to land upon the altar. Some even fall from there in their chaotic journey with quiet but musical resonance upon the wooden boards of the floor as the hand retracts slowly.
The figure bows once and straightens, looking to the effigy before him. Pulling from his side a bottle it is opened with a quiet 'pop' which is almost loud in this place. Lifting it with both hands he brings it to the glass and pours until it spills over, the crimson liquid running onto the stone. The bottle is corked and set aside before once again the figure bows low.
A gem sparkles red in the light, a rare beauty, a ruby. Held between forefinger and thumb it is set on the stone. A candle is produced and lit from the others there to be placed beside.
Drawing blades the figure raises them high overhead. A long moment passes before he curls inward to bow again, each blade under opposing arms.
Utter blackness covers the room drowning all light. Minutes pass before it lifts. The placed candle is snuffed out and the figure, whoever he was, gone.

*Posters are pinned up outside various taverns around Baldur's Gate, except in the Palace District. The writing on them is extremely messy, like whoever wrote them barely knew how to write*

" People of the Gate,
I be a honest hard-workin citizen just like you be. I was born and raised in this fine city.
Recently, rumor has it there is some sort of major outbreak of sickness in this city. This is propaganda put forth by those pesky adventurer types, who roam around the city pretending they own the place and think they are better than us, the Common Folk of Baldur's Gate. There is no reason to be concerned!
Don't trust mask-wearing adventurers who's appearances likely brought the sickness to the Docks in the first place! They are likely carriers and could be the ones spreading it, in the guise of "helping" for all I know.
Trust only in the local temples who we know are here to serve us, and avoid those filthy adventuring scum!

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
*With amusement, a dark cloaked form scribbled on the bottom of each she could find*
Adventurers come across something they believe to be disease, or a plague.
Right or wrong, it is their true and honest belief.
They warn others so that they can take measures to protect themselves.
A mask? Stay in a little more? Better safe than sorry, always...
Then along comes Mister John Gertrude, readily calling those who show
concern for others. Those who the temples he says "serves" what?
Heros? No
Concerned citizens? No
He calls them
"Filthy Adventuring Scum!"
For what? Being concerned and making known possible danger?
What a man!
... Someone should keep this man from
scribing future notes appealing to the masses!

Re: Rumors of Baldur's Gate
*Residents of the Docks district were surprised and confounded when overnight the locks on a numerous houses were found jammed and immobile. The poor residents were either locked in or out for sometime, until either brute force or dubious skill was able to unstick the locks. Most were just smashed, though some appeared have picks jammed in them, or hard-setting glue squeezed inside the mechanism. None appear to have been victims of theft however, just mischief.
In an unrelated incident, a few barrels of ale sat outside the Elfsong tavern waiting to be stored were scorched with alchemists fire. Most survived with little more than charring, but a few were split, such that the flames burnt off the liquid, ruining the alcohol. Noone was injured, and many think it just ill-luck, or mischief was behind the burning*
