Year 1358 Fifth of Flamerule. (Tuesday, July 6th 2022)

Wagon encountered within the Lion's Way while visiting Candlekeep. Several armed men in escort asking any whom passed if they knew the spell necessary to remove a curse - to assist their friend whom had need of such. Having heard the recent rumors regarding severed hands with bound fingers - and finding the request curious I avoided the question and the wagon moved on toward the Friendly Arms Inn - a quarter mark later a Red Wizard also headed in that direction, from Candlekeep. Suspicious - I followed with two Bladestone Foundation members. As we neared the Friendly Arms Inn; a scream was heard in the Cloakwood - upon entering, the Red Wizard we followed was found dead. Beaten and hung from tree, spellbook pages shoved into his mouth.

This incident is believed to have been caused by magekillers possibly motivated by hysterics over the recent calamity. Be prepared to note any Wagons with unusual amounts of armed guard seeking magical assistance.

Leave not magi to travel alone in the Trade Way. These killings are happening frequently and a hardline stance against such behavior may stem the tide of impressionable citizenry flocking to blame mages for the current calamity; and seek their death.

Year 1358 Sixth of Flamerule. (Wednesday, July 7th 2022)

Another Wagon encountered on the Uldoon Trial. Suspecting - I approached and questioned the driver, when Rhaeg's voice from concealed back of wagon seemed to be pretending to be an magi. I followed from a distance - and suspicions were confirmed when the armed men within attempted to kill Rhaeg, and with my intercedence they were given swift mercy. An investigation of the site found another Red Wizard, with skull caved in and visible brain damage a previous assault of these men. I stabilzed the Red Wizard and she was carried to the Chauntean Temple in Greenest, Will follow up in the next few days.

A cursory investigation of the wagon and armed men found the marks of Shar on weapons and wagon - Sharrans appear to be moving in to eliminate other mages for unknown motivation.

The wagon mentioned in previous report said they would be meeting other wagons - to work together. The wagon in this report are not the same men as from the first, but I suspect they are both parts of a larger group moving in to harass the Coast.

All spellcasters, divine and arcane should be mindful and travel in groups to ensure their safety. Being a spellcaster on the road is no longer safe for anyone who may practice such.

I intend to follow up with an investigation further into this matter, and any assistance would be gratefully accepted..

At the meeting in Candlekeep an acolyte hailing from Suzail, Stonelands of Cormyr, claims Mystran followers were called to Mystra's side and witnessed demise at the hands of the Watcher, Helm, whom stood against Mystra where she attempted to reestablish order with the Weave. A crater now exists in the middle of the Stonelands where the act occurred.

Michael Dunn, Alexander Marshall, Gaven Arkalis, Maevyn Edgar, Thok, and myself was briefly in the presence of the deity of art, cartography, glyphs, images, knowledge, literature, and scholars, the "Scribe of Oghma", Deneir at Candlekeep.

Shandril Brightmantle, Lambe Arkolyn encountered by myself near upward curve of road near bridge at end of Lion's Way. Brief discussion had that a Orc betset her, Maevyn, Gaven, Alexander Marshall, and unnamed others. She made mention of the behavior similar to Shamble, and the roads and woods leading about the Friendly Arm is likely treated as its hunting ground.

I awaited from afar on Marshall and Lylan's discussion when I determined the thing described pass through, but it did not appear to see me, nor acknowledge my closing presence toward it. That said, neither Lambe nor Shandril appeared to know I was in proximity to them either.

It is my assumption that this new Orc hunter act similarly functional to Shamble but it certainly is not similarly competent.

In regards to recent threats, the Diviner Meredith has been offered three large for information of the orc's comings and goings. Ten large for each viable magi-hunter caravan that becomes a viable target, and thirty large for their camps located.

11th of Flamerule, 1358

On the following day of the Candlekeep divine convention, I continued my journey towards the Gate from the Friendly Arm Inn where I had rested, when I ran into a somewhat odd individual. Something felt off. We were headed to the same direction but instead of just continuing his way after passing, he stopped after some steps. The person thought I was a ranger as I was carrying a bow. My first thought was that this might be one of those mage hunters due to the look as well as the way spoke. He was dressed in an armor and a helmet that remaineded me of a dragon.

However, he did not ask anything of magic or the sort. He did ask my name and I said it is Moon, a name I give these days if I am unsure. He introduced himself as the fist of those who deserve to be helped, Garou. After a brief conversation about the direction each was going we headed towards the Gate. Nothing of importance happened beside a few kobolds on the way and we made it to the bridge where we parted ways.

He was headed to Soubar. Wanted to see how things are there. Though, before parting he suddenly started talking about the Duchal Lands and how they are not any safer than Soubar which, according to him, is a nice place. Even mentioned thinking Banites rule it. A land that does not hide its intentions, unlike the Gate. Evil land, but an honest one. He considered the Gate, the people or perhaps the Dukes themselves to be dangerous for hiding their intentions. Wanted me to see them as they are, tyrants under the light of Lathander.

While this individual did nothing to me nor acted in a threatening manner, I did not get a good feeling from the start. Especially after the Soubar speech.

Meeting notes.

* Plan to sap tunnels rescinded due to unnatural events throughout the world and the new unknown dangers imposed.

* Scouted location of expeditionary forces of the enemy to be sent via missive to Sean and Dhelt.

* Hunt of Orc that is waylaying passerbys on the Lion's Way and nearby woods.

* Focus toward stopping caravan based banditry that targets suspected spellcasters.

* Vanguard hold is still under construction.

* Increase recruitment efforts while still hunting for those that were lost.

* Use magic sparingly.

* Gods are known now to be on the prime material

Fenia lives. Though she appears to be emotionally worn, the half elven woman appears to be in otherwise suitable health given circumstances. She was caught up with the meeting notes though her focus on seeing to the matters of her faith with others akin to her is prioritized, something mutually agreed upon. She will keep in touch with the Vanguard in the coming days but until further notice it our recommendation she heal.

Aaron Lyonaler claims that Green Dragons have increased in count in Sharpteeth and have attacked Doron, high likelyhood of the dragons exiting the woods and continuing havoc elsewhere.

Neela, a lady of Mystery of the Mystran temple in Baldur's Gate has gone unresponsive, potentially in use of one of the portals during the calamity has redirected herself to destination unknown. Sirion states that they have not heard anything from her at this time. Lord Archost of the temple from several years ago had departed, terms unknown.

Elizaveta made public approach with offer of 'stabbing, magical expertise, and mindfulness' of the casterkiller encounters in league with the Vanguard. I had pointed her fair-weather-vane toward Sayushi and Rhaeg in current preference as to not interrupt Vanguard activity by being a continuous detriment as she did just then upon public road of a city.

Five lights dot the small bridge crossing at the end of the Way of Lion, origin unknown, though this seemed to be more prevalent since Mystra's death.

Seven stars is of her banner, not five, so don't consider this correlating, or perhaps someone is just poor at math.

Paraelementals are confirmed in the Cloudpeaks in proximity of the Aurilite temple, caution is regarded both in encountering as well as responding to given political issue may arise between the Vanguard and the temple's owners. He relayed to Edelgarde on an overgod of the name of 'Ao' had cast the gods from their places to the prime, and tablets of fate being claimed by unknown theif with Helm to remain in place to prevent any god from returning.

Looking for volunteers to help guard the temple of Ilmater and its orphanage within Baldur's Gate. The avatar of Bhaal is rumored to be within Darkhold, and they fear an attack by him or his assassin worshippers is imminent. Due to the high risk nature of this task, only taking willing volunteers. You will be paid fifty large per month for taking this task underway. I myself will be undertaking this guardship role. (I'd expect rp posts about once a week and/or reports and/or hanging around the east district)

Mark down this day, Vanguard. Today Amos Thistle of House Blackrose surrendered himself to the Radiant Heart. He very shortly thereafter turned over control of his assets to Captain Vanira of the Radiant Heart. Know they'll never credit us for it, but it is only because of the pressure applied by ourselves that he caved and knuckled under.

Ran into Faelyn at Greenest, wasn't able to avoid it. Not a good conversation. Either way, he also warned me of the mage hunter mobs around/from Nashkel becasue I am an elf and that if they have Nightsingers with them (apparently seen on some cases), they wouldn't care whether or not I am a mage. He seemed to put a lot of emphasis of staying away from Nashkel for being an elf. And also leave the Vanguard. He also said that Aunrae has become Ilythiir wish refers to dark elves that lived a very long time ago before drow were cursed and sent below.
