Cloakwood Well

Traveling through the Cloakwood on his daily patrol the local Hedge Knight Yuri Lichelina had run into an unusual sight. A well surrounded by spiders web.
Image

Within he found the expected sight at the bottom of a well, a water filled cavern. Though the crystals and totems caught his sight.
Image

Deeper still he found ruins, treasure and quite a few spiders both big and small, stag beetles, but more worryingly Clockroaches and Drow Hunters. Countless number were slain by his blade, until he put fear into the minds of Drow and monster alike. Yet he himself could find nothing of note beyond that.

For the last couple of 10-days an odd sight has slowly been increasing at the Lighthouse along the Coast.

Workers guarded by those in Bladestone uniforms are seen going in and out of the Lighthouse. A large trench or pit is dug and a rather long series of hosepipes and a bilge-pump is run inside, disappearing into the depths of the building. Algae-ridden water is pumped out into the trench, letting the water soak into the ground and the algae remain in the pit. Also, human and animal remains are taken out and also put there. Meanwhile, another set of workers with equipment that seems to be what you would use to reinforce building structure are seen going in and out at all times. These workers appear to be under direct supervision of Lylan'Synor when she is present.

Derik himself is there quite regularly, watching the proceedings and taking his turn on guard. If questioned, he will quite freely state what is going on.

"The Bladestone located what we thought was a bandit stash underneath the lighthouse, but turned out to be some sort of abandoned assassin or something similar guildhall. There were a few undead guardians, the ground where they were bound to was consecrated. The structure goes out under the bay, so we are reinforcing it as to not have it collapse and cause a sink-hole out in the water."

In regards to the cleanup efforts he would add, "Sane Fenson of the Enclave advised that the algae and old remains found could be buried safely once the consecration took place and nature would take care of the rest. Nothing unnatural is being buried. The Enclave is perfectly welcome to have a representative come and inspect the pit and such to make sure."

If asked about entry, Derik would reply, "Lylan is in charge of the safety and repairs to the structure and Niyressa is in charge of going through and catagorizing anything that is found. No entry is allowed without permission of one or both of them and only with escort. We don't want anyone getting hurt."

"When done, the Lighthouse will be used by the Bladestone as a guard checkpoint for the wilderness area for anti-bandit patrols as well as made fully operational for a small pier and travel station we are planning to build."

*Sane might be seen around the lighthouse after the cleanup efforts .
He'd thread around the trench where the water was drained into , checking on the plant life growing there .
After stroking his beard a few times and reciting a prayer seemingly to the Oak-father , he'd depart the area .*

Fog, Fiends and the Dead

Within the depths of Cloakwood, by the cliffside ruins and clifftop manor the telltale sounds of fighting can be heard. And should anyone brave the woods they'd be struck not with a sight but the lack thereof. A large portion of the woods being blanketed in an impenetrable black fog. And the air itself with the scent of the dead. Undead Boars, Ghouls and even Infernal Damned pierce the fog and spill over into the rest of the woods. Chasing after two figures who bravely dispatch as much of the creatures as possible.

One a "Knight" clad in Mithral, known to some as Yuri Lichelina. His friend unknown, and rarely seen. The black fog and visible stench of decay making it all the harder to tell. Their fight strained against the veritable flood, a sea, of undead. What could be seen by any curious eyes is the two of them pulling back as they slay undead only for each one to be replaced by two more. Their blades quickly cutting the creatures down, yet they were replaced faster. Leaving them no choice but to pull back not to be overwhelmed.

Image
In time they are joined by a horned figure, Bobbin. With whose help they finally even the odds enough to brave the fog and lure out the leader, and probable cause of the woods disturbance. A Fiendish Wight. Deprived of her minions and isolated the fight looked tough but also much more manageable for the group.

Image
Creature slain the fog dissipated. The stragglers quickly taken care of and the wood returning to as peaceful a state as it was before. Still haunted but perhaps less so. No answers were found and only questions remained but at least everyone was safe.

While all the repairs and the hubbub is ongoing, Niyressa could be seen regularly heading in and out with Edelgarde and a mix of people from Bladestone and Candlekeep. The group can be seen carrying out small boxes using the same simple crane that has been delivering materials inside the underground space. The boxes are then being transported inside Candlekeep where the same group of people can be seen unpacking books, working on their restoration, taking notes and sorting them again for storage. Niyressa would, after pevious discussion, accompany Edelgarde in most tasks, helping out where she can and watching over the activities on behalf of Bladestone.
Almarea90 wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 1:47 pm Once the books are brought in Candlekeep, Edelgarde would with the assistance of Niyressa check the title of each book, assess their condition and the presence of any lingering enchantment, finally compiling an inventory. The mundane books are then moved to the library and entrusted to the care of the scribes tasked to restore them and repair any damage at the best of their possibilities. The tomes that are enchanted (if any) would be examined with Analyze Dweomer and adequate protection (Mind Blank, Protection from Evil, Deathward), before being moved to the Vault.

After the work of the scribes is done, Edelgarde would gather the topic of each tome in a list, which will then be provided to the Bladestone Foundation. Should they require copies of any specific books, or translations, Edelgarde would instruct a scribe to provide this. Any book written in cipher would be set aside as Edelgarde would make an attempt to decipher it.

The brunette ranger could be seen at Mielikki's shrine along the tradeway. She's seen tending the shrine, kneeling to pray, and then standing on tiptoes to tuck a note into a hidden spot on the statue. Her actions and attitudes are nothing new. She's been seen doing this often. She leaves the shrine with eyes that are perhaps even more alert than usual.

*All up and down the southern tradeway, from Friendly Arm to Beregost posters are being hanged on everything that allows, crossroad posts, walls, trees, if any are taken down, it doesn’t take long for them to be replaced each day*
Hear ye, hear ye.
You might have heard about a great evil in Cloakwood, evil only vanquished by a sacred fey bow. Some of you might have been told by druid Emmanuel that it is Lylan’Synor, that is making this task impossible, but let me tell you what is really happening.
Some time ago, a fey has appeared and tasked Lylan’Synor with guarding the sacred branch and set others with tasks, culminating in crafting a sacred bow and defeating this spider monstrosity, everyone was getting along and cooperated to reach this goal, plans were made, and all seemed well on its way to success. That is, until the Great Flop Emmanuel stumbled into the situation and decided to hold key parts hostage, until he gets his way.
He wanted no one, but the people he controls involved, we tried to reason with him, we tried to find ways to cooperate, we tried to set up meetings and neutral locations to work together and to try to find a common path. At every point he said no, at every point he wanted to swing his trunk around, showing how great he is.
When it became clear that there will be no common path found, we wanted to set up one last meet, to try and reach some compromise, to resolve the situation as adults. Despite his smear campaign, despite people on the daily accosting and blaming us for letting evil unopposed and for blocking Emmanuel from his great fate as the savior, we still wanted to meet and kept waiting for when he will be available, to find common ground, that is, until he decided that he feels slighted because a friend asked me how I am doing and I dared to talk about it. And so, he said he will not meet with us anymore.
Se let it be known to all, that the green haired druid is nothing but a childish prick, power hungry miscreant and that he can go pollinate himself, let him wallow in his self-importance. And now, Emmanuel, you can feel insulted, you good for nothing lowlife.

A brunette ranger could be seen traveling to a beach south of Candlekeep. She gracefully kept her footing during any quakes and calmed frightened animals along the way. A squirrel might have been spotted hitching a ride on her shoulder. When she arrived at the lighthouse, she stood and looked over the beach a moment before checking to make sure the ongoing construction wasn't harming the local wildlife. The ranger then lingered for a bit, looking out over the water, before she moved along further south.

Sharp Teeth Orc Champion

Rumour has it the Mithral Hedge Knight, Yuri Lichelina, encountered an Orc Champion within the Wood of Sharp Teeth. One that, according to his words, was standing over a Mauled Large Orc. There were no discernable signs of what caused the mauling itself that he could make out. Presumably it was done by the Orc Champion himself. While the battle was long, due to the unusually hardy Orc earning his title, he was slain in the end.

Cloakwood Spiderhunt

Once more Hedge Knight Yuri Lichelina has been seen heading towards the rumoured disturbance in Cloakwood with a company of two in tow. Druid Sane and an unknown individual. Upon their return it seems that the cave itself was filled with Giant Spiders, Giant Ants, Drow Raiders, Drow Warlocks, and a Drow Champion. One that summoned undead. With a shocking amount of grenades found on all the bodies.

Speculation has it that the Drow themselves are from some upperdark Barbarian Tribe. Filled with Raiders, Warlocks and perhaps even Blackguards casting Smite Good. Pacts with devils and necromancy. Combined with their appearances becoming more frequent, organized and in defence of the spider with the disturbing amount of grenades found the only simple conclusion to what is going on: Nothing good.

Despite the effort of the company, that was eventually joined by a tiefling, the rumoured spider that started the hunt remains alive and unseen.

Orc Trouble: A skirmish

Rumblings from deep within the Woods of Sharp Teeth tell a tale of a band of three; Yuri Lichelina, Sane Fensen and Karai, assaulted an Orc War camp. Successfully dislodging the small contingent that was based there. Although with the state of war the Woods of Sharp Teeth are currently in it is doubtful that will be for long. Joined by Alexander Marshall their attempts to leave were halted by an even larger orc force, that was forced to leave the world of the living in quick haste before the group departed for Doron Amar. Was this just local orcs or perhaps signs of some greater threat? Whatever was spoken of, if it was spoken of at all, remains a mystery.

All four certainly fought bravely and with great distinction. One of them most definitely didn't have to be carried back for treatment. They all made it to Doron Amar on their own two feet.

Despite the blood rain and the dark times the land has been thrown in, some travelers and dwellers of the sharp teeth could had sworn to have heard a song heard in the wind. Those more brave would had managed to spot this scene surrounding a golden tree deep in the forest

Image

for whatever reason the man was singing despite the blood rain surrounding him, he still singed as if an audience was all around him in some weird language. Some like the rhythm even if i didn't understood the words while others have just left the madman singing to apparently noone..

*High is the moon tonight
Hiding it's guiding light, high

Heaven and earth do sleep, still in the dark so deep
I will the darkness sweep

I will the moon to flight,
I will the heaven's bright
I will the earth delight

Open your eyes with me, see paradise with me
Awake and arise with me

I am the dawn, I'm the new day begun
I bring you the morning, I bring you the sun
I hold back the night and I open the skies
I give light to the world, I give sight to your eyes

From the first of all time, until time is undone
Forever and ever and ever and ever
And I am the dawn and the sky and the sun
I am one with the earth and I am the dawn

I am the sky and the dawn and the sun
I am the sky and the new day begun
I am the sky and the dawn and the sun
