Thank you for having Codes of Conduct for Staff positions. Especially for Dungeon Masters. And furthermore, thank you for posting those Codes publicly, so Everyone can understand them, and abide by them, should they wish to hold a Staff position.
BGTSCC is not a democracy. Though many might think it should be, I'm thankful for what the Admin does to keep the Server Community healthy. It's still working, in my humble opinion.
The Role-play and fun is still very much alive, and that comes from the Players, who can thankfully continue on doing what they do best, without worrying about the Administration (at least as long as the plug stays plugged in!).
DMs are just Players in a different position. We thank them for their support. Sometimes it doesn't work out, but hey: it's just a game, mates!
Cheers.

Good post Steve. Don't have to agree with the decisions, but we should respect that the ones making them do so with the best intentions for the sever in mind. It's impossible to say if any move is right or wrong in the long run, but its a tough job for the admins and HDMs to do. I'm certain it's one of their least favorite tasks in any case. As you said, it's not a democracy and these are not paid positions subject to employee rights. We can be upset about a decision without resorting to calling anyone out or suggesting wrong doing. At least, we should be able to.

Yes, Thank You for the rules that bind us and a very long over due Thank You to all the players. Your creative and original RP has captivated this community for years. Players are the -P- in Persistent World. You are the jelly in the jam, the tie that binds us. You are the unsung hero's of Baldur's Gate!

Thank you to all of the recent DMs who have stepped down for whatever reason.
Creo
Hera
Lobo
any others I may not have caught leaving.
All of you made things fun as hell, and more then a little quirky, which was a good thing.
I still recall shocking one of the DMs when their *guard* NPCs were scared to death of the undead, and my mage decided to summon skeletons in front of them, which freaked out the guards, causing them to run for the hills.
This is the kind of thing we players want. We want to be able to have the great story you are laying out, with the ability to completely wreck it, making the whole thing go off the rails, and force you to think outside the box, and completely change the gameplan you had in mind.
We want you to take a month to make a story, fill a notebook, and then have you, not ten minutes in, trash six pages, because the players did something that you NEVER expected.
Thank you all.

I have no respect for people that boot some one with out giving them a chance to defend them selfs and dont even get to hear what it exactly was why they got the boot and dont get to know who reported them and for what reason.

Yesterday was absolutely, positively, completely the last cameo Ameris is going to make on the server for a good long while (likely forever!) and so I just wanted to post a thank-you here to all those who have played with Ameris over the years.
There's too many fun times to remember and too many wonderful characters he has interacted with to name: friends and foes, beneficiaries and benefactors, tutors and students. And too many players who have made Ameris' time here so rewarding - I was meeting new people right up to his retirement (and, indeed, that delayed it slightly!). Thank-you, all of you, for helping me have a rich RP experience with what was designed to be, and proved to be, a controversial character. Although the planned slow fall to being a Baneite didn't work out!
Anyway, that's it for Ameris. He'll be sending a few letters and able to be reached by letter for a couple of weeks but after that he will be gone. For those interested his domestic bliss is shortlived as he is heading to a PNP campaign set in wartorn Tethyr at the start of next month, abandoning his young wife and orphan adoptees yet again, like he has these last three months. What a guy...
(If he lives, he will settle down after!)
I'll still be around, with Daug on this account and with my other accounts. This is just Ameris departing (...once more, but I promise this time its for good)

Thank you Colonic, for playing Ameris. It has been perhaps one the characters on this server that has influenced mine the most. And you as a player have influenced my own playing.
Thank you.

Thank you so much for your A+ RP all around with this character. You were never afraid to take chances or loosing and make this character seem real with the RP. I also loved that you didn't kill him off.. finally a happy ending...sort of... still I hate so much to see him go! This will leave a hole in the server we will all feel and not be able to fill for sure.

Ameris has always been a great character to interact with. He has mostly been a foe to my characters, but every single interaction was very enjoyable. From that time we hung him off the ramparts of Darkhold, to our very last interaction at Helm and Cloak. I hope we will get to interact more often on your (and my) other characters!

"I will just be going back to Baldur's Gate for a little while, Telia. Help the Harpers file some papers. It will not be dangerous."
... goes on a warlike rampage, patrolling, attacking a Red Wizard, coddling evil characters and gets targetted by assassins...

What an arse...
kleomenes wrote:(If he lives, he will settle down after!)
If he dies, he'll become a spectral Harper so that Telia can shout at him.
This was meant to be a thread of appreciation though... hm... Thank you for ruining my character?

I didn't ever interact with Ameris on any of my characters, though I interacted with Telia on a couple different ones. A very complex and interesting woman so I'll say thank you to Nomster for making her so. I do want to also add my thanks to kleomenes as, though I never interacted with him, his RP was still known by my main character for quite some time and I have always enjoyed his IC posts. Kleomenes, you tell a very rich story sir, looking forward to the ones you write up for us in the future!
