this, you can do by rolling an aasimar or a tiefling, and believing (idiotically) you have also the counterpart's blood in your veins.
Clearer, everyone?
You could always roll up a non-Good Aasimar and take all of the Fiendish Heritage feats. Though that might make you like 1/X celestial, 1/y fiend, and 1/z human. Certainly not half&half at least. :p

What I have always wondered about races is this: are half-orcs restricted on what flavour orc they are descended from? Could somebody be a half-black-orc, or a half-grey-orc?

I don't see why they would be restricted like that. Half elves get to choose which type of elf and human they're descended from. It only makes sense that someone could say they are half-grey orc, half-black orc, etc. I play my half-orc as being the child of a half-orc and a human to explain his better appearance and high charisma. I still consider it RPing my character sheet since I remember reading in one of the old DnD books that the child of a human and half-orc is still a half-orc.

Considering I feel like i am sort of accused of draconic things with Hoihe and the reincarnate thing with Calinde...

First of all, Hoihe himself understands that only his blood is draconic but he strives to make his entire being one. He has draconic traits as per his character sheet. (sorcerer levels, Dragon warrior levels. Dragon warrior grants feat Dragon Disciple which is used to explain some of the traits. Dragon breath is natural, Strength levels are influenced by charisma and vice versa.)
A few character sheet explanation.
His eye colour: simply failed ritual's after effects. Nothing special
Dragon breath: Feat: Dragon breath
Tough skin that is palish: Armour skin influenced by Dragon Disciple (silver).
Claws & fangs : Dragon warrior feat: Dragon Disciple (silver)
A bit too tall for an illuskan man: High strength & Constitution influenced by charisma and dragon warrior feat: dragon disciple (silver).
Fluent draconic, altered vocal chords: Dragon Warrior (ritual to take on draconic traits.) + charisma (easy to overhear).

"My character is really a human male, trapped in the body of an elven female!"
Second, Calinde is being played as per her character sheet. She's a female elf in all approaches possible. As for being trapped, please refer to Reincarnate. I've thrown her idea up to the DMs and nobody objected. Lyrewyn awarded the experience. She has a wild past but it's nothing out-of-the-box, merely using a spell to give her an extra quirk. (It allowed a quite interesting character development.) It's completely Lore-friendly and a common occurrence actually in some PnP parties where the characters are too low level to cast Raise Dead but have a druid at hand.
Just for reference, when i say female elf in all approaches possible, I mean it by body (Reincarnate), soul (has been ensured by an elven priestess of the seldarine) & mind (character development and wisdom).
She has the common elven starting stats as well, even the mind. It did take me a while to find a reasoning to the lower intelligence but eventually came up with one. All in all, people don't mind her and she no longer tosses her story around. there was one part in her character development when she did, but oaths turned her other way around.

Hope that clears it up. I personally always poke the DMs when I have a bit wilder than average idea for extra approval, much to their annoyance I presume . I personally am a fan of the book Savage Species, but I am not sure an idea stemming from that book would be approved. (It involves an example of an ogre turning into an elf. I presume our low charisma elves all come from this tree :P ).

As for some of Hoihe's ramblings of being actually a dragon... It's purely his way of thinking... for now. It's within one of his "unachievable" goals that he will become a true silver dragon. Unachievable because I know that him achieving it will require me to retire him.

In anycase.. with me proving Calinde and Hoihe are their character sheets entirely, Calinde being 100% what it says on the tin and Hoihe having a few loose interpretations, may I hear opinions on the both of them?

One thing I believe to be true about me is, I narrate a lot. Or as Galadriel would say, I narrate things that are unnecessary. I must say the incentive to gain RP XP is one of the reasons I narrate that much and the second is.. I don't like *cricket* moments. While ICly I like them, I prefer the RP to roll, roll and roll if by filler emotes.

Whenever I can, I always do my best to keep the RP rolling, if by doing small timeskips that I petition a DM for. (Such as with Calinde & Avereon being pissed at each and skipping a few months "mentally" to resume their RP instead of actually waiting the time out). One might say I am impatient, I just don't like *cricket, cricket, cricket.* moments.

I do however note, that if I know that the player I RP with is a slow-typer, I will avoid doing filler emotes.

Feel free to send me a tell OOC to slow down with my emoting if you are a bit slower on the typing side. I will gladly do so. I can enjoy slow-paced RP as much as fast paced, especially if I really enjoy RPing with someone. (in the case of the two players whose name start with Dr.)

I also admit to not being a stranger to discussing IC happens OOC, especially if they are a plotline I plan to RP out. So far, all the time I took the time to discuss things OOC with other players (such as with the Elestars are at it again storyline during the end of this summer), everyone was satisfied with the outcome and it wasn't a light RP type. I do this because I consider people OOCly having fun above all else and such I rather find out another's feelings OOC about drastic changes over risking tell wars later.

I see no problem with a background of being reincarnated. If your character believes that, fine. There's nothing in the character sheet that supports, or disputes it as a back story. As such, people can believe you or not. You're still playing the character sheet as far as I can tell.

Indeed.

There is quite a few people who believe Calinde and adopted her as family/ taught her the elven ways and there are those like Mealir who think she's insane :P. Then there is Vashani who just doesn't let the issue go and embarrasses the poor elf.

This is Buurk Gerz OOC Bio information page, note the part saying Half Bugbear?
First Name: Buurk
Last Name: Gerz

Race: Half orc // Half bugbear
It is not saying that in character he believes he is part bugbear, it is saying Race = Half Bugbear out of character. The person has told me ooc while in game and also my character(s) he is part bugbear and roleplays that he even looks more like a bugbear than an half-orc.

This is on the cannot do list correct?

After nearly a year of narcaleptic playing his character AS a half bugbear, it is clear many many people and DMs are aware of this and have done nothing. Shortly after him claiming IC and OOC several times his half bugbear status, I have avoided this player and character. I have turned away when he is in a group or tries to RP with my characters. In the past several weeks narcaleptic has posted stories and pictures to support his birth by an orc mother and bugbear father...

Even in the story it is called out "Abomination! We should kill it!"

This is being presented as character history, and not a delusion of the character.
Gerz Garbo: I will have sons this you are correct in foolish grey orc! They will be the mixed blood of two great races!...... and grey orc will not be one of them! You are weak and pathedic! Gerz garbo is done with such a creature as you... *begins to walk off*
Gerz Garbo: *wakes up suddenly runing outside from under the tent, she buckles to her knee's and vomits on the ground*

Buurk garbo: *begins to stur and gets up walking over to her* Youz okiez? Wut wrungz?

Gerz Garbo: i'm.... I think i'm pregnant, We are going to have a child my bug.

Buurk garbo: Babiez? ohh! babiez orczes boog bearz?! Buurk fathur aguan? *toothy smile he grabs his axe smashing it to the ground in victory*
*gerz Garbo holds her belly as Buurk steps in front of both Kanguk and her*

Red wizard: *looks between them both* ohhh! how interesting... A bugbear and a orc? By the looks of it a Pregnant orc at that? *smiles* half orc, half Giant bugbear? How unusual...

Thayan knight: ehhh... These hidious creatures are mating? Sick! Abomination! We should kill it!

Well...

There is one way to solve racial issues without character redo's... Savage Species, ritual of vitality/relearning. Works like a charm.

// Alright for the sake of not geting another thread locked, even though I myself was not involved in the last one but my character was brought unwillying into the topic, I will delete it all and redo my character completely... quite apparently even though i'v had this going for a while now, there is a small hand full that cant let it go and just have fun with it. Lets please consider this topic on my bio Buurk gerz closed and dealt with, he is just a half orc lets not argue about it, or further heat the subject. Thanks everyone and have a good evening.

On topic... I personally have a liking of the descriptive emotes. (Like the thayans')

I ask you people, what are your opinions on descriptive emotes?

I'm not fond of them, a few here and there, sure ! But overly descriptive emotes all the time quickly become a chore for me because you have to rethink what you see and because of the moral obligation to also describe precisely what your character is doing. Laziness maybe but details at the cost of rythm and enjoyment is a no-go for me.

I have to agree with Valefort here. It's not so much about laziness as about rhythm and efficiency. If people write several paragraphs of describing how they are smiling behind a mask, I find immersion easily broken.

I think descriptive emotes can be fine if you can type like the bloody wind, but I tend to find that all too often they leave the emoting party a step or two behind in a conversation, and unable to swiftly react to changes in pace. A good time for a lengthy artistic emote is a first appearance or greeting, or to set the general scene when a new person enters a conversation or area. But every emote being very lengthy tends to become cumbersome.

DM Strahd wrote: You know, for a moment, I thought you were trolling me...but I am wrong, right? Fangy smile
I do not know about making you into a part-troll, because there is no feat for that!
Of course, better yet would be to take all of the Fiendish Heritage ~AND~ Fey Heritage feats on an Aasimar, so then you could be 25% human, 25% celestial, 25% demonic, and 25% dryad. Apparently, a long family history of extraplanar orgies or something.

It shall be my next character, I think!

I think there's a very fine line between frequent emoting and spamming.

No offense Hoihe but if you're hitting the 1250 xp cap in ten minutes then you might want to tone it down
