Re: Church of Ilmater RP
[Meri begins asking the guards and any who are affiliated with the orphanage or temple of the priestess' whereabouts. Up until now... the Saint was hardly seen... when she was, she was deep in prayer and meditation... or silently continuing her duty. Having kept close tabs on the young priestess, her absence did not go unnoticed.
She can be seen walking the city, asking for information on Alistaria, and as her questions go unanswered... a familiar crease of worry begins to mar the woman's brow.]

A handfull of men all covered with black and red clothes and a one wolf, arrive to the orphanage, carriying boxes and barrels. "Ahoy there! Oh, you mean these, aye? This is a donation for the little ones and for the church. You take these, right? "The man as Kalma does the talking as the crew piles the donation infront of the backdoor. All of those packets are sealed with wax signet, symbol of howling wolf can be seen. "From who? Of course from us, Crew of Blueberry... At your service!" The captain makes a dramatic bow and winks for the priestess and emotions for his crew to head back to the river. Boxes are filled with rations which can mostly seen in ships. Good, healty food. Taste might not be the best but it is still healty. One chest is filled with books, seems like those men want to give even such valuable items into the good use.

Re: Church of Ilmater RP
After spending 4 seasons in and around the city of BG, a half-elf is spotted entering the orphanage. He excitedly and nervously introduces himself to Sister Meri over dinner. It seems that he has not quite mastered the customs of the civilized as there were snide remarks and apparent animosity directed at him from others not of the faith.
This half-elf known as Paus Nefzen is now seen around the orphanage. Occasionally cooking (albeit not well), cleaning, and teaching lessons such as : Illmater, the triad, and about races / cultures who live in the forest.

As is custom with all food or drink that comes into the temple or orphanage since the day that Meri received two skulls in a box marked tea... and poisoned tea... Meri has the boxes checked carefully. However as Juna continues to recount details Meri takes one of the guardsmen aside and sends for Tonan Ashaler of First Company.]

Re: Church of Ilmater RP
An excited Baldur's Gate Bank's clerk entered orphanage waving a cheque around.
"Great news! Great news! A person, who wished to remain anonymous has donated ten thousand gold coins to the orphanage!"
After handing a cheque to a person in autority, excited clerk has left the orpanage and almost ran back home, though still keeping official bureaucratic demeanour. During a family dinner, he has told his wife about a kind young man who has payed brokerage so high, he didn't need to work for several months!
While hitting her husband repeateadly, she has kindly reminded him that she and her children were wearing rags and that he had never took her out.
He never saw those ((or "this" ? D:)) money again.

((A Brief Recap))

((Now Current))
[In light of recent rumors of Bhaalist and Banite activity, not to mention other enemies of the Ilmatari faith... Meri -once again- asks Sister Juna to pass the message along to all Ilmatari in the region. The Saint would like to gather the faithful together for a loose meeting of sorts.]
//
[IMPORTANT OOC NOTE]
Alright, here is what I am asking... I know there aren't a lot of the Ilmatari active right now, but... I have been out of the loop for a bit with Real Life stuff and recent events... I feel sort of bad for 'running a temple' and not knowing my clerics and such. So:
IF YOU ARE INVOLVED WITH THE ILMATARI DIRECTLY: IE you are an Ilmatari worshiper, Monk of Ilmater, Paladin of Ilmater's orders, old or new character, whether you have met Meri or not... -Please- please send me a PM on the forum with your play times... and Character names associated with the forum name and possibly game log in if it is different. Please. Having that info makes it much easier for me to work my schedules around the rest of you. I would like to set up a meeting with AT LEAST those who Worship Ilmater (as in... he is the God listed on your character sheet) Sometime in the next couple of weeks.
I would like to extend this request of info to those of you who are DIRECTLY INVOLVED WITH THE TEMPLE OR THE ORPHANAGE. Just so I can keep track of who is who and who is doing what. There may even be some of you in this category that should be at the meeting. This includes people that regularly volunteer at the temple or orphanage, those that guard both places, and those that guard the Ilmatari...
Members of the Tyrran or Tormite faith not yet associated with the Radiant heart, but have regular involvement with the Ilmatari are also included as we have loosely set up a 'Triad' type group. Members of the Radiant Heart I am pretty sure I have, but you are welcome to pass along the info also.
If you think you should be on this list of 'regularly involved sorts' and I missed you, just toss me a PM. Like I said I am a bit frazzled lately. I do thank you all for you patience with me lately. RL is starting to balance some so I will be more active again. I would like to get to know those that are associated with the temple/orphanage better than I do presently, meet the new ones, and most importantly, set up some solid rp.

After the rather odd donation... It is simply stated that it will get put to good use soon, thanks would be offered in hopes that they somehow reached the ears of the benefactor.Ivan38Rus wrote:An excited Baldur's Gate Bank's clerk entered orphanage waving a cheque around.

Re: Church of Ilmater RP
A tall woman crosses the farmlands outside the Gate. She has nothing but plain grey robes adorned with a pin carrying the symbol of Ilmater, a simple mid-length cloak starting to frey, and round her waist is a string belt fastened with a knot. She has a small worn brown leather satchel by her side.
She walks with a swift gait but her most striking features are her unnaturally blue eyes which seem to indicate she is wise beyond her years and her short blue-grey hair, tied up simply in a bunch at the back.
After speaking briefly with farmer Jom, enquiring after his health and what aid she can give, she asks the farmer "Where might I find Sister Merielle?". The farmer suggests looking at the orphanage just a few paces down the road.
Looking up at the sky, the sun shines down warming her striking features, she quickly glances around and sees the long bridge with guards behind her, to her left, she sees the entrance to Baldur's Gate. Although it is a magnificent sight, she has always felt much more comfortable wandering through the country side, taking in the wonders of Faerun giving aid and succor to those in need. A few paces more and she sees the orphanage on the right of the path opposite some farmer's fields.
She looks at the gardens and notes the plants and herbs being grown and gives a slight nod as she recognizes their usefulness in concoting salves and poultices. She takes note that her own supplies have dwindled of late as she administered aid to those on her way here. She silently mutters a prayer that she arrived safely and takes a step inside, and takes stock of the inabitants.
"Hello, I am Sister Arabella," she announces, "can someone please show me to Sister Merielle?"

[She is greeted by more than two dozen smiling faces, ranging in age from 12 years to 5 years. One of the older children, a young girl of nearly thirteen smiles. It seems she was busy helping with writing lessons.]

From time to time upon entering the temple or the orphanage one might catch the faint smell of pipeweed, though nobody ever catches where it's coming from...

[There is a subtle shift in moods of those who frequent the orphanage and temple, though it goes mostly unnoticed by those who do not share the same thought.
An undercurrent of irritation seems to be present in Meri's usually patient demeanor. She is seen heading south in the company of one of her clerics... Later, the next morning, a missive arrives for Sister Juna and Brother Marcus.
Duty continues, silently for now.]

Arabella returns to the temple after a day in the Cloakwood, says her prayers and devotions, and when finished she stands up and notices Sister Merielle attending to matters.

Re: Church of Ilmater RP
The following letter has been left for Sister Merielle at the temple of Ilmater in Baldur's Gate.
Bonjour,
Fair shepherd of the Ilmatari flock of Baldur's Gate. I bring you (through my person) the salutations of the Order of the Eightfold Path from the sublime city of doors that you may know by the name of Sigil. I am but a celebrant of our esteemed order and, seeing as how I was found wanting in the requisite enlightened "stillness" so prized by our masters, I was sent forth in order to gain in understanding by undertaking a journey of discovery. My masters have decided that a roadmap, in either the literal or spiritual sense would be counterproductive. And so I have chosen my way and my experiences in something of an ad hoc manner though of course the four noble truths and the eightfold path do provide the solidest of philosophical foundations. But I digress...
The purpose of this missive is to explore or perhaps merely wonder at the mystical and mysterious ways of the multiverse as it relates to suffering, which is possibly the one ubiquitous and unifying principle of life. To wit, the Order of the Eightfold Path is not dedicated to or directly connected with the worship of The Crying God. Yet, through providence - and undoubtedly through our work towards ending the cycle of suffering in the the multiverse - some of our acolytes have been granted the blessings of Ilmater. To the (only halfheartedly suppressed) consternation of my teachers I am such a one.
And so my path has eventually led me here to this quaint duchy on this verdant world. Let me therefore offer what humble help I may be able to provide to you, your flock, and indeed to anyone of good will and intention in these lands. In return, perhaps you can tell me of your journey - nay, I should probably rightfully call it an ascent - to becoming a living saint. For undoubtedly there is a lesson in it to us all in how to achieve the enlightenment that will one day free us all from this vale of suffering known as life.
While we have not yet had the pleasure of meeting in person - though I have dreamt of chatting with you in an otherworldly foyer - let me end my letter with the hopeful parting words of,
Au Revoir,
Raimon
