Ah! Beautiful work.. I agree, the details, especially that chain, they really make your artwork shine.

I am suffering palpitations from being so anxious.

And why not? Every portrait creation you conceive is even more fantastic than the last! I know I still treasure mine.

Another great piece of art, I wonder what people send to you as information on their character to get these kind of details and to enable you to catch the spirit of the character.

Anybody of the lucky people willing to share that info?

I'm pretty sure the wall of text that I sent is something that gave Angevere nightmares!

Sure. Here's what I sent in. PM 1: Screenshots.

Aeili's bio is in my signature below although I think I've been a bit light on the physical description there for portraiture.

I need to go to work now but I'll write a more detailed description for you in about 8 hour's time which you can have a look at on Friday.

And the cost is fine, yes.

I've attached some screenies which were a part of my previous commission application (you might have that sitting in your inbox still)

Thanks so much!

PM 2. Details.
Tsidkenu wrote:Thanks so much Angevere!

I can't fully remember what I wrote and in fact I was clearing out my old PMs only this week and that was one I remember deleting! Grr, fate, how you torment me thus!

Anyway, considering that this will be a portrait and not a full body drawing I should like to modify whatever I said before with the following:

Health: IC over the last 3 months Aeili has been recovering from a genetic illness she has which is currently in regression. Her cheeks may be ever so faintly hollow or gaunt, as with her eyes/eyesockets. In general, she is slim, sickly so, although having spent the last 3 months recovering amongst the elves of En Dharasha in the Misty Forest has renewed her vitality significantly (but it should still be noticeable).

Mood: Contemplative, contented. I would like Aeili to look like she has just been praying, and she might have a very faint smile of contentment. I think it would be fantastic if she could be in a pose toying at her neck with one hand upon a silver holy symbol of Mystra

Image

which is attached to a silver necklace, normally concealed beneath her robes. In the centre of Aeili's symbol of Mystra is an impressive Star Sapphire. Aeili wears no other jewellery except for a magical ring on each hand (middle or ring fingers). You have a license to creativity with these!

Tattoos: As for the tattoos on her cheeks, I should like to continue with the thought of having Correllon's and Sehanine's symbols upon the upper part of each cheek, very small in size (ie. about the size of a fingernail)

The images show that Aeili has forehead tattooing but I am as yet undecided if I want it to actually be a written language or just arcane decorations. I have typically been roleplaying them as something she received after having completed 100 years of study in Taltempla's school of magic on Evermeet.

Some plausible options:

1. Leaving them as the faint pairs of dots, to be embellished according to your artistic flair.

2. Draconic Text, 5 letters on each half of forehead with a single smaller dot underneath each. (Text translates as Century of the Art)

Sorry i didn't meant to leave the red line, it was just a screenie from MS Word cuz that's how bad my art skills are!

I'll let you be creative with those.

Location: Either inside the temple as per one of the screenshots, or if its easier for portraiture you may wish to put her outside under the moonlight of a starry sky. Aeili is a diviner/astrologer in her spare time so that would be just as beautiful a setting as inside the Temple of Mystra.

Thank you so much for your consideration and this wonderful opportunity! I can't wait to watch the replay of you feed! Seriously I would watch it live except the time will be some ungodly hour early in the morning (I live in GMT +10 timezone so that translates to like 4am? And though i wake up that early on weekdays for work, I do value my weekend sleep ins  )

And the result is on page 5 of this thread.

There was a twitch feed of the drawing in progress but it seems to have vanished from Angevere's feed. Oh well. Mac's pirate halfling is still on there but!

@K'yon Oblodra

To be honest, it doesn't really matter if it's a few sentences or a lengthy post. What matters is that you give me the essence of your character, and it can take different amount of words and references to describe. But the personality and occupation are the most important ones. From that alone I can shape the composition, the mood, expression, add details fitting the character. So, if there are a lot of additional details I try to add as many as I can, but if there aren't many, then I just make some up and offer it as suggestion.

If it's a larger piece then the "purpose" also matters. If you want a scene illustrated then a short story is a great way to go, or it can be an artwork to simply show-off the character, in which case I'll try to give it justice by enforcing whatever the character is about.

Every single case is different, that's what makes it fun, and this is why I really enjoy painting for you all :)

I've read the background and ongoings of your character, K'yon, and it's not lacking in character plot or personality, so if you have the money i think you should pm that rp goodness, if you haven't already. Having a portrait made by Angevere is awesome. :D

Ah Xeyn you honor me :blushing:

I am considering to get something done for K'yon, now that Angevere mentioned the possibilities my head is exploding :D.

Feels like I would need more than just one picture lol. I think K'yon would agree that it is hardly possible to catch his awesomeness in one
