Re: Rumors & Events of Soubar
Half the Blackrose Garrison in Soubar could be seen pulling out and heading in the Direction of Fort Prominence.
Rumors abound that lots of cost are being cut due to decline in trade the past few months.

Re: Rumors & Events of Soubar
Some rumors seem to be rushing in the northern areas, many members of the Northern Barony gathered at Fort Prominence to issue the verdict on the life of the well known drow raider Urfindir.
There seems to have been a fairly long interrogation, where the drow has not lost his arrogance and sharp tongue.
There seems to have been a fairly long interrogation, where the drow has not lost his arrogance and sharp tongue.
During the process there were:
- Lord of Fort Prominence Amos Thistle, the High Marshal Galliard Hallowdant and the soldier Nicola Thistle of the Order of the Blackrose
- Vigilator Barristan Schulltze and the Darksister Marietta Thairo of the Black Abbey
- The Witch Tarina, representative of the Zentharim and Darkhold
- Hanner Blackrose, although no longer a member of the Order of the Blackrose
- The hunter Shadow, the one who fought Urfindir at Boareskyr Bridge
- Sister Ashenie of Ilmater, the one who, the drow Urfindir, tried to kidnap
The Northern Barony members: Amos Thistle, Barristan Schulltze, Tarina and Hanner Blackrose expressed an unanimous vote, death.
The notorious Urfindir guilty of:
banditry, murder, kidnapping, disruption of trade,
murder of some Order of the Blackrose and Zentharim patrols, threats to Tarina member of Northern Barony.
The execution was issued the same day by Hanner Blackrose, inside the cell where the drow was imprisoned and the drow's body was buried outside Fort Prominence by Ashenie.

It only took a day for local reactions against the recently arrived drow on Soubar.eternal night wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 7:32 pm
A new tent set by a new visitor of Soubar, apparently with promises of trade and gold.
A small confrontation between the drowess and an angry dwarf with a spiked mace happened but it was just words, as the local guards would stop any physical confrontation between the dwarf and the drow, which ended with the drow retreating inside the tavern and purchase several drinks and going inside one of the private rooms after giving an invitation to those present to visit her.

An Amnian Arrival

In the next couple of months arrivals of goods from the many regions of Amn pass through Soubar on their way to Fort Prominence. The first arrival is that of two soldiers well outfitted in Amnian armor. They are unloaded from their wagon as they meet with the Blackroses. Details of the soldiers are given over to the Black Roses as the first wagon leaves.
The next arrival is that of livestock.

From the grazing lands south of Lake Weng, livestock is brought in large bedded wagons to Fort Prominence. The sheep and goats range in color from black and brown to shades of crème and white.
8 Breeding pairs of Goat
2 White Goats
2 Black Goats
2 Creme Goats
8 Breeding pairs of Sheep
4 White sheep
1 Black Sheep
1 Brown Sheep

The final shipment comes across soubar in a covered wagon. Covered barrels and chests of grain make their way to fort prominence as part of the last shipment. The wagon wheels click and clack against the dirt roads. The Barely is unpacked and given to fort prominence.

Re: Rumors & Events of Soubar
Rumor may filter in to Soubar from the surrounding wilds. A pixie has been seen by various peoples particularly in the northern forestlands.
It has been said this pixie has been friendly to travelers, encouraging them in their hunts against the monstrous races and their destructive nature to the woodlands but cautiously warning off those wishing to do harm to the natural order. The gentle flittering of wings and tinkling laughter can oft be heard by groups passing through.
On a completely unrelated note, several statues have sprung up in the Reaching Woods, horrific depictions of gnolls engaged in battle. Their detail is...impressively accurate... Some of the statues have been found smashed to bits while others still stand.

Re: Rumors & Events of Soubar
With news of war between Darkhold and the Lord's Alliance on the wind, and indications corroborated with his own eyes, the forest protector known to many can be found tirelessly working in whatever way he can to make the northern woods inhospitable to the coming armies. He uses his limited druidic magic to thicken the verge, summoning brambles, roses, hawthorns, and blackberries to surround the periphery. He coaxes quick-growing grapevines and ivy's to thicken and inhibit known paths through the wood in order to narrow paths and inhibit travel. Any venturing into the wood who encounter him would be welcomed to help if they wish as he is quick to explain his purpose; he has no interest in the war of men, only the preservation of the forestlands.

Re: Rumors & Events of Soubar
Lord Thistle would arrive at the Tent camp on Boareskyre Bridge with a well armed force the look of dismay at the aftermath of the battle.

The look anger could be seen in his eyes before he would walk into the camp alone. As he walked toward a vantage point above the camp he would look to a woman with tears in her eyes. "I am sorry lass, Your son was brave and did his job well." *He would move to the vantage point and begin to speak to the crowd.*
"A Terrible tragedy happened here yesterday, one that saw many of your, sons Daughters and friends Murdered by a company known as the Whitewood Vanguard. They attacked us because they were after twelve zhent soldier that were stationed at the Fortress across the way, but gave no care for who else was station there or who it affected." He motions to them all. "It is you all that he has affected. There action were an attack on Soubar itself and the people living here on Boareskyre bridge. That fortress was a defense against the monsters of the night, it protected the trade that followed over that bridge that brings food to your bellies. That allows you to sleep soundly at night. IT was our people that were murdered just because of the insatiable blood lust of a few." *He looks them all over tears filling his eyes* "I have and will fight for you all until the end and this will not go unpunished. We have been through so much, and there will be so much more to go but together we can endure anything. We are people of the North and our resolve is as strong as ever." If they so much as set foot within the walls of Soubar, the Area of Fort prominence or here they will be strike down by those that were affected by this blow. But I am only one man an cannot weather this alone. I ask you all to join me in this fight, Pick up your sword and dawn your armor and take vengeance for those we have lost. I will spare no expense, not one. If you shall fall your families will want for nothing until the end of their days this I swear to you until my last day."
Chests of gold and armors and armament would be brought forwards and divided among all those that would join.

They would all leave and return to Soubar
A similar speech would be made within Soubar before the day was done.

Re: Rumors & Events of Soubar
The muscular half elf known as Kevlamir Sharp would have been unscathed from the events. In his time out in the woods drifting to and from he was in a cave sleeping away from the elements.
Now that time has passed to witness the aftermath of the now scorched earth. He would then make his way north again to take a look at the landscape in Soubar.
A sour look upon his face muttering with eyes rolled. “Well, better than devils and demons I guess?” he scoffed under the breath. “Here we go again.” He would then try and find the nearest merchant to stock up on supplies and a smith for repairs and alterations, all which the half-elf would pay if not turned away.
He would then spend time in the weathered tavern and ponder in a booth over an ale and tobacco in his pipe. Taking notes and drawing out lines on his map.
His eyes would glance scan the tavern every so often for any hostilities in between, as it is a rough place on the map and one must have their guard up and not act dumb unles they want trouble.
After he was done with the map and notes. He rolled up the parchment and stuffed it into his bags along with the ink and quill. Finishing his round of drink and pipe he would set out once more, this time west from Soubar.
The roads and Kevlamir who walk them have a mutual understanding. Paths we talk lead to something, yet at times sometimes nothing at all. It’s not about the journey, it's the destination. One can only guess what events may be in store for him next.

Re: Rumors & Events of Soubar
There's rumors of a bardess, matching with the same description of the bardess singing her songs in Baldur's Gate and the Friendly Arm and Beregost and Gullykin, making her stop in Soubar, singing a few songs to cheer people up and to try to increase the people's faith in the Gods. She wasn't alone and she seemed to be in the company of an elf with white hair and a blue tunic - along, of course, with a staff. Probably a wizard? Word is she met a few people on the road there, until she found the Templars of the Black Abbey.
The Templars welcomed the duo to give them a tour. Whatever happened within those unholy walls is uncertain, but people passing by would swear to have heard singing and sounds of a lute playing. Her stay wasn't long in the Abbey, but it seems she managed to leave unscathed along with the companion. However, on the way back, she didn't seem to forget her purpose and continued to sing and play for all the interested creatures to hear her songs. No matter the race, they were welcomed to listen to her.
The bardess, with the curious feathered orange hat, would have eventually left the town.
If asked, she would have replied (almost) exactly like in Baldur's Gate, at the Friendly Arm, in Beregost and in Gullykin: "The Gods are among us and they can't be everywhere. They always helped us when They could, it's our turn to help Them now. Let's sing, and let's make our song reach the ears of the Overgod. Let's make Him hear our love for Them, for our families and for our own souls."
