Thanks to whoever that player was who played the Half Orc Bard, Thumbler Trunk-Son, for being awesome and having one of the more original and creative characters I have seen in quite some time.

Re: Thread of infinite appreciation!!
Greetings,
I just finished the entire Cloakwood Mines, and I have to say that is a really well designed area to play in. Hats off to whoever designed that...and to BG for keeping it going. I'm hoping that the Cloakwood Mines are just the beginning for awesomeness that I haven't been able to adventure in yet!
Also, I'll take a moment to thank all the very generous and creative BG players who make it worth it playing here. Some of you have really gone out of your way to save my toons arse, and my XP appreciates it! You all make it REALLY hard for me to be at work.
I'd also like to thank all the snotty-IG-tells-players who like to have a meta/philosophical debate on what or what not their toon would do if this were reality and not some faulty engine mechanics based fantasy game during a big goblin fighting event in the depths of a dungeon...keeps things more lively!

Respect to Katzenjammer who, in addition to always being reasonable and fair and willing to discuss differences with me, just endured a (at least) two hour IM group chat-a-thon in a addition to flat-out asking the player base for input (and hence, more abuse).
Thanks, Katz.
Thanks, Katz.

I agree completely, though slipping in "And hence, more abuse" at the end doesn't help at all. Unless it was a different group I can't recall seeing any abuse there, only debate. It was the same convo right?Steal Your Face wrote:Respect to Katzenjammer who, in addition to always being reasonable and fair and willing to discuss differences with me, just endured a (at least) two hour IM group chat-a-thon in a addition to flat-out asking the player base for input (and hence, more abuse).

To say it was abuse is only going to create more divisions and alienate people.

Re: Thread of infinite appreciation!!
Id like to extend my gratitude towards all that ive interacted with on BG since 2009, not for your character concepts, not for the awesome RP we've had or the events that have been the center of the focus for most of the hours.
But for being genuine wonderfull and mature people that despite being hundreds or even thousands of miles away have been respectfull towards the players they meet and befriended them for the sheer sake of having a good time with plenty of fun memories.
Its not said often enough and during these hours with a heated ongoing debate and people possibly feeling demoralised from being on either side of the table, I think its important we remember theres a player behind every character.
So much thanks to those ive had the pleasure of interacting with on either of my characters.
Regards

Actually it was a great convo and I'm sorry to give the wrong impression. Humor doesn't translate well in text. The point I tried, feebly, to make is that the staff does take abuse, not necessarily in that conversation or in the thread referenced.nlyh wrote:I agree completely, though slipping in "And hence, more abuse" at the end doesn't help at all. The give-and-take was awesome, and apologies for any offense I've given.

Great adventure themed show today. Huge thanks to Charraj for his support, for the shouts, for the prize, for the RP XP and for being a curious audience member, sorry I had to set a guard on you.
Thanks to all the performers, you were all great!
And Congrats to Thumbler who won with his song.
And Thanks to the audience, you're an important part of it too.

A sincere thank you to Everyone who interacted with Scarlett and Echo in the last several months. It was a sheer joy... perhaps I will pick up their stories again someday. For now they are both at a quiet pause where anything can happen.

I wanna thank Leslie for write'n up Merielle's account of the Bhaal Campaign. It's fun to read it over and remember the good times. It takes epic players to make epic DM's...and you Miss Leslie...are epic.
Also, thank you all that took part. It was fun to run/coordinate...it made my time on this server very enjoyable. The way you all took charge during the siege was awesome to observe. From the repairs and loading of the catapults to Paws running up and throwing alchem fire on the walls then bragging on how many he killed... shit makes me laugh still to this day.
