Re: Underdark General Discussion Thread
Sshamath isn't a Lolthite city, far from it.
There is simply 'more' followers than there used to be, and they have 'one' priestess on the conclave. The majority of the conclave are male wizards.

Heck yeah, can't wait to see your drow mistreating one of the yathallar pcs in game, that will surely be fun to watch. But keep in mind that, had it been only for the "mighty" drow wizards, Sshamath would be a pile of rubble by nowEnder wrote:I was gone for over a year I didn't realize they were destroying the only

also, do keep in mind that the "incidents may happen" predicament also applies the other way around, and this is probably the main reason for lolthites and wizards keeping a (rather thinly veiled) façade of mutual respect.

The temple remains lowly on the pecking order despite an increase in their numbers. Rumours have it their seat on the conclave is nothing more than a mask, to increase the relative power of the remaining mages. Wizards still rule, and religion is still distrusted

One thousand of followers more just means more headache for Conclave. Or maybe more targets for assassinations by followers of Masked Mage.
Also, marginal role means marginal role. That did not change.

Tell that to the maelthra soldiers that got severely owned by fanatical lolthites in a dm-ran event . It was very funny seeing the maelthra soldiers ranting about "turning the bodies (sic) of you lolthite scum to the necromancers for experimentation", only to see them getting slaughtered by the lolthites in turn

Perhaps but you will find a necromancer controlled by a player a far greater challenge

Re: Underdark General Discussion Thread
I ran the campaign that created some of this strife and secular conflict but I will tell you this..... Sshamath's conclave has the means to terminate every religious institution in the city if it comes to open violence. It is as simple as turning on a switch.
There are only two things that keep the mages from doing this.
It's your job as the religious opposition to know what those are and hopefully not get your entire religion exterminated whatever religion that your characters promote especially the worshippers of the spider queen. Open defiance and fighting in the city would be an act of war and the city guard, charnag, and school of mages out number any religious sect combatants 200 to 1. So odds of a permadeath are very high unless you understand the above two reasons as I mentioned.

Also, dont confuse IG propaganda with facts...I am reasonably sure some Drow Wizard of power wouldnt be happy about it. And he wouldnt be alone, as Void stated in no uncertain terms...I believe the assessment of the situation (Darksider_war wrote: But keep in mind that, had it been only for the "mighty" drow wizards, Sshamath would be a pile of rubble by now![]()
) kind of leaves little doubt with regard to a possible outcome200 to 1

Also, worshippers are more likely to be 'sheeples' - NPC commoners.
Congratulations on having bunch of peasants.

A pleasant smile that will take time to talk to you about everything and nothing. The owner might even buy you a drink or two. . . and not all of them will be poisoned. But be wary, for sometimes, the shadows look back at you and smile...
And plotting DO happen in the shadows, but there are a few too many lights in Sshamath to do for meetings. Not to mention that there is invisible people everywhere in the city. =)

There is talk of Ched Nasad being implemented on the server.
Of course Rasael is juggling that undertaking with various other projects around the server as well as his university courses.
So who knows when Ched Nasad will appear in-game.
Incidentally, with Storm Munin away, will you take up the task of guiding the Lolthites?

Re: Underdark General Discussion Thread
I wish I could. I myself have been down incognito for a while with work and other things. I actually submitted to Luna my House Sshamath map that I have been slowly working on. So if anyone else wants to complete it, please ask Luna for it. I don't believe at this point in my life I'll be able to donate the millions of hours that i have used to invest in this game. But I would love to see my work actually get used as I think it could really be beneficial.
