* Graffittis saying DEEP GNOMES UNDERGROUND cover many walls of Darwoods district. Drows and deep gnomes have been seen squirmishing in the southern woods, drow merchant supplies have been stolen. It seems a rebellion is taking place. *

Late in the cycle, just an hour before it ends, a spear is planted in the ground in the small alcove of the main tunnel of Varalla's Passage. On top of the spear is mounted a banner made of a black leathery material. Cut into the banner are letters in the Undercommon language, forming the following sentence:

  • "We have stepped from the shadows. Beware the dark for we are legion."

Anyone inspecting the banner more closely will soon find that it appears to be made of drow skin, and will also spot an indentation of a spider crest in the skin. Anyone of House Dev'lin will recognize the spider crest as the one typically used to mark their house wizards.

Qilintha notes the spear, smirking. "How cute. Only one fearn went missing, a shame it is a mere apprentice. Weak. Perhaps they might want to take bigger prey next time." *she looks back to the other Dev'lin's with her "Move. We have business to attend to."

A tall and slender masked figure cloaked in tattered and dirty robes steps from the neaby shadows to closely examine the banner, before returning to the shadows and disappearing.

After piece of the skin parchment disappears, a faern drowess pauses to look at the spear. After reading the note, she looks instinctively at her right arm. Suddenly she flies off the handle and starts smashing the spear sign to pieces. Rage screams can be heard echoing through the caverns when the faern finishes it off with a massive over-killing fireball leaving residue all around. She smashes out any left embers and pants. She takes a deep breath to contain herself and then rushes to catch up to her house.

Several cycles ago the residents of Darkwoods district witnessed a brawl in the streets. Two drow males were having a heated discussion for a while before the one-eyed one decided to resort to blows. Sometime later the one-eyed drow was spotted walking out of the district calmly with his face covered in blood, though it was uncertain if the blood was his. Several paces behind him a shorter drow male was following. Despite all the wounds, bruises and blood covering his face he seemed to be smirking.

Tyv'lael would have looked at the spear and banner with an...amused? Expression on her face.

"'tis indeed true" - she said, in her usual monotone, metallic voice - "Lolth's love for her children really is skin deep"

With one last chuckle, she then headed back to the School of Necromancy.

A few of the all too familiar notes which are littering the streets of Sshamath are ending up attached to lampposts, columns and benches all over the City. Their content is largely the same...save for a few "corrections" here and there.
"The new Mistress of Shadows, Tyv'lael, Eye of the 7th circle have mind the grammar, idiots! a master of intrigue upon taking the title of the legendary Phantom Wizard, Valshar Valshar is still a Weavemaster of the School. Please double-check your sources. And he never liked your kind to begin with."

Her latest achievement is to declare war upon Qu'ellar Dev'lin and their religious ways of life. "Or more likely, upon the moronic attitude of some of the Dev'lin. Those who openly insult the City and its respected insitutions, at least. And If you are so religious, why have you come to an irreligious city? Idiots"

By having Ilharess Israe'anna speak up against their old ways, she masterfully distanced from the proceedings. "Does this mean that you want to take over Sshamath with your pathetic house as its leader? Please. Return to your cave in Ched Nasad". But a timely elevation of the newly made Ilharess of Qu'ellar Xilaben within the circle itself, the Shadowmistress left no doubt about whom is leading the charge to preserve the Sshamathan way of life. "This statement means two things: 1) that you don't know how the Circle operates and 2) That you are openly admitting of wanting to overthrow the Conclave. Idiots."

What the Master of the Circle, Grand Master Illypsin "his name is ILPHRYSSIN. You are as dumb as you are disrespectful to the Conclave and to this City, then, if you can't even get the name of one of the ruling councilors right" have "Mind the grammar. Third person singular" to say about this development to Qu'ellar Dev'lin as the Shadowmistress equals, have "you just can't get to write the verb "To Have" right, can't you?" yet to be revealed. But we know that there is something beyond mere mortal thoughts working to starve off "It's "STAVE OFF", not "STARVE OFF", imbeciles" an eventual civil conflict which would undoubtedly hurt the trade in the city.
"So you are actually threatening an open civil war? Between whom? The whole Conclave and 10 idiots who don't even know their place in this city? *follows the picture of a smiling face :D*"

Truly, the Shadowmistress Tyv'lael have "AGAIN! What is this, some form of allergy to "Has"?" made her mark in a sudden and aggressive way as the new Eye of the Circle. Taking on the role of just more than spy-master "No need for hyphens there. It's SPYMASTER" but also as a leading role as manipulator and provider of propaganda in this turn of events
"I don't recall her ever having issued a statement, written or otherwise, about this mess you imbeciles got yourselves into. The only propaganda I'm seeing thus far is your pile of lies" and also making sure that everyone knows what have "IT'S HAS!!!!" been done by her hand. "You mean, punishing a mouthy idiot for having disrespected this city's foundations?"

We, of the Darkwood Watchers "Qu'ellar Dev'lin fools" are looking forward to see what the Shadowmistress have "You really don't get it, don't you?" in store for later, as she plays the tune of the city once more. Forcing her newly adopted organization into open political conflicts and alienating religious parties as a source of trade. "Or rather, alienating seditious extremist idiots who would love nothing more than ovrethrow the Conclave"

One might wonder, though, if the competition which holds a branch just outside the city caverns will harvest fruits from this bold move from the Eye of the Circle. Only time will tell the story on how future problems will be handled. "Yay, a sentence without grammar mistakes or loads of crap! I can already anticipate you how will it end though: with rebellious idiots who use religion as a convenient shield to cover their lust for power getting squished by the Conclave.

Long live the Conclave, its Councilors and Sshamath!"

As she is entering Gloura's Wings, Tyv'lael can't help but notice the note penned to a nearby lamppost. She then reads the note just briefly.

"Well - she says, mostly to herself - it seems that the Dev'lin have an even greater enemy than either the Conclave or the Circle...the simple grammar!"

Chucking briefly, she then enters the tavern.

Qilintha pauses as she walks through the city, noticing one of the letters, her long, slender fingers ripping it from the post it had been attached to. Her lips curl somewhat with amusement. "The hidden war on grammar. Well, at least this one is entertaining himself."

She crosses out the word 'ovrethrow' and writes -overthrow- then 'insitutions' with -institutions-, and then adds -You can thank me later.-

Lilith pauses briefly to amuze herself by reading the enhanced note again.

Giggling she softly states:
"My my, well I am glad the cheap little troll realize to whom she owes allegiance and fealty.
Sshamath indeed."

Shaking her head after another burst of giggles she saunters towards the House compound uttering a single sentence.

"Welcome to chaos"

The two guards in Varallas Passage would have been able to over hear the Dev'lin Qu'ellar, as they returned to Sshamath, laughing about the Ilharess of Qu'ellar Xilaben. It was said that she fled from a fight that she herself had started. Ril'vyr Dev'lin complained that he did not get the chance to add another finger to his necklace.

In the early morning hours a messenger was let into the compound of House Sshamath, shortly thereafter it was let out appearing hale.

A messenger boy of House Sshamath was seen running for the Spider's Kiss establishment mere minutes later.
