* a small dark haired half - elf, known to people as Vali, is seen pacing out the front of the chapter house, not entirely sure if she should attempt to approach the gates. After a while she finds a spot comfortable enough to sit, and stares at the gates.*

"Do you require assistance with anything, miss?" one of the guards asks the half-elf woman after a while.

The Paladin Cecilia takes the letter and exchanges a few brief words with the Silver Rose Commander before dipping her head in a grateful bow and returning to the Chapter House, an iron-like grip on the parchment.

Re: Order of the Radiant Heart Role-Play
Perhaps if she kept moving, the weight would not crush her. Or so the paladin thought as she moved briskly throughout the Chapter House, her head still throbbing painfully from the recent impact that had shattered her skull prior to healing and made worse by the sounds of her metal boots clicking in various sequences as she strode. New keys. Locked changed. Permanent anchoring. The chancellor. . . maybe Ameris can look at him, if our own clerics are not able to discern anything. Circling the manor exterior, Cecilia continues to mumble to herself, stopping every so often to make notes.Hidennka wrote:A horn sounds from within the Radiant Heart Courtyard in the Farmlands and is said to have been followed by a guttural bellow of sorts, the sound of which sends a flurry of birds skyward. Those nearby would perhaps have heard the clattering of arms and armour as paladin within it's walls rushed to the beckoning call. At this point, none seem to have a clear idea of what happened (or may be happening still) behind closed doors of the Chapter House.
The courage of one can change the destiny of many.
We will survive this.
The paladin finds herself back within the Grandmasters office, almost as if without realising it. Here, she pours over various parchments in preparation for the days that would follow. Everything left behind. Anything. There was no joy in the exposure of her mentor as Zhentarim, no victory save for the purging of one unfit to call himself Brother. It isn't until she comes across one of her own reports on the previous Grandmasters desk, of which has a few encouraging notes sprawled across the bottom, does the Paladin's face crumble in the dimly lit room. Her fingers curl around the parchment, which creases and buckles under duress.
". . . you were like a father to me. . ."

Ameris is seen attending attending the Radiant Heart Chapterhouse. He remains overnight; when he leaves in the morning he appears tired, troubled...and angry.

Re: Order of the Radiant Heart Role-Play
Following the banishment of a paladin from Duchal lands, the Artificer of Gond had been seen going back and forth between the High Holy Crafthouse of Innovation and the chapterhouse of the Order of the Radiant Heart. Throughout the last few days in Eleasis, month of the Highsun, it carried with it several large rolls of parchment adorned with wax seals.
The Artificer drew attention to itself by hammering its mighty fist against the chapterhouse's gates, in order to gain entry.

Two fresh-faced individuals are seen approaching the gate of the Chapterhouse over the last few days. Greeted by the paladin of Tyr, Cecilia, both are taken inside for a time and each leave with a heavy tome tucked under their arm.

Cecilia collects and tends to any and all mail that is delivered for her, thanking the Man-at-Arms with a dip of her head as she takes the ever increasing stack of parchment.

Re: Order of the Radiant Heart Role-Play
Like most Earth Genasi, Ferragus was slow to anger. However when angered, he was as terrifying as an earthquake. He kept this anger in check after the days following Eliphas's betrayal, only by utilizing the inner discipline earned from his many years as a Paladin of Helm. It was still difficult however, and the Genasi spent his hours honing his own swordsmanship and training Men-at-Arms in the Order's front courtyard. In the quiet hours when he did his prayers to Helm, he vowed that the next time he crossed paths with the Deciever, there would be no hesitation or time allowed for the coward to flee again.
"Surround yourself with the greatest warriors at your command Eliphas, or cower in the deepest and darkest hole you can find. It matters not. Helm willing, I shall take your head."

*An official statement is released to the public on behalf of the Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary Chapter of Baldur's Gate. It is written in neat cursive and stamped with the formal seal of the order. Presented to the public of Baldur's Gate, news of such would slowly spread*

Wai Li is in total shock as she hears of the public proclamation of the Radiant Heart while in the Temple of the Shield in Baldur's Gate. She mutters to herself: "I thought the order may have been infiltrated, but in such an egregious fashion, at the highest level of leadership." *Bows and shakes head in sadness* "These are truly dark times we live in." *She then begins to pen a letter to Lady Lafayette of the Radiant Heart.*

The Evil Within, part 1
Cecilia Lafayette: *Stepping into the room quietly, her gaze drifts over the gathered party.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor kneels in humble meditation before the Great Symbol.*
Cecilia Lafayette: *Not wishing to disturb those present whom may or may not be praying, she simply clears her throat softly to announce the company.*
Gaervin Goldenshield: *He bows his head.*
Cecilia Lafayette: "Brother." *she greets quietly, fist over heart as Arkaine thuds into the Chapel and joins the other Knights.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor slowly rises, after a time and more footsteps are heard arriving into the Hall*
Eliphas Valkarian: Arkaine. Late as always.
Cecilia Lafayette: *The Paladin of Tyr bows low to the Chancellor with fist over heart.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *with eyes of divine grace, the Chancellor looks to all that arrived, and lingers on each of their faces, for a time.*
Eliphas Valkarian: *bows his head, slamming his fist on his heart* Your Excellence. Welcome to Baldur's Gate.
Gaervin Goldenshield: *He bows as well with fist over heart as Eliphas does this.*
Cecilia Lafayette: *A look of utmost respect settles on the Paladin's features, repeating the gesture.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Thank you, and my greetings, Brothers and Sisters of a Noble and Radiant Heart.
Eliphas Valkarian: *instantly looks up after welcoming the Chancellor, his single eye firmly settled on the individual in front of him.*
Arkaine HalfOrken: *His voice is a gravelly bellow as he regards each of the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart, and he bends his knee to the ground as he speaks.* Hrgnn. At your service, Lord Chancellor.
Ferragus Manus: *The earth genasi clanked heavily down the stairs, stopping at the bottom to acknowledge those around him with a short dip of his rocky head*
Eliphas Valkarian: *eyes instantly dart to the large figure next to him and mumbles*
Eliphas Valkarian: *Whispers* You're late.
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor looks around at the interior of the Chapterhouse* The home, this outpost of our Order, is honorable.
Cecilia Lafayette: *Her head dips in acknowledgement to his words.*
Eliphas Valkarian: It is a manor, Chancellor. Donated by Jonas Rokranon before he left for Tethyr.
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: May you then benefit from his noble gift.
Eliphas Valkarian: To be frank, we had expected you a few weeks earlier. Did something happen on the way from Athkatla?
Cecilia Lafayette: *She glances to her right slowly looking in Eliphas' direction.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor makes a motion with his hand, and the three Paladins Dedicated move to other positions*
Cecilia Lafayette: *She clears her throat quietly.*
Ferragus Manus: *Whispers* My apologies. *he rumbled in return with a sidelong glance, before his eyes returned to the front*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: What happened...was that our Messenger was never given an official response, to tell Athkatla, that you were prepared to receive me. Your lines of communcation...must be improved, so say the Prelates. *he looks sternly to Eliphas*
Eliphas Valkarian: It was... wait, ah yes... Ameris. Forget it. Our mistake. *he shakes his head*
Cecilia Lafayette: *Her brow twitches slightly, no further movements or expression save for the clasping of the Paladin's hands behind her back.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor looks to the assembled, each, again* We shall not let a small infraction disturb my reason for arriving here, however. Are you all informed, as to why I am here? *he looks judgingly at the assembled*
Eliphas Valkarian: I believe everyone has been briefed, though I am still curious why they sent you when Prelate Wessalen could perform the rituals.
Blake Keeper of Rolls and Deeds: *the Keeper seems occupied taked notes in a golden leather book with the seal of the Radiant Heart on the cover*
Cecilia Lafayette: *Raises her voice, speaking up* "So that we might be swor--" *she trails off as Eliphas speaks, dipping her head.*
Eliphas Valkarian: Not that we do not feel honoured by your and the Prelates' interest in our little chapter.
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: I am the Chancellor to the Prelates of the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart of Athkatla...and I am sent by them, do deliver first hand the Proclamation to your Auxiliary. Do you challenge my stature in our Order? *he looks sternly*
Eliphas Valkarian: Not at all, your Excellence. *he doesn't flinch by the look*
Cecilia Lafayette: *Cecilia's eyes glance between the two men, sensing the tension in the air.*
Ferragus Manus: *he scratched at his rocky textured forehead, and took a moment to take a quick glance around at those assembled*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Very well. Then you, all of you, the Radiant Heart Auxiliary of Baldur's Gate, are now recognized by this Proclamation....*with his left hand, the Chancellor reaches toward Blake, who raises his head to attention* Come, my Brothers and Sisters...you may rise and take a place upon these benches.
Gaervin Goldenshield: *He nods at this.*
Cecilia Lafayette: *She clears her throat, stepping forward slightly.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *he motions to the seats before the Great Symbol*
Cecilia Lafayette: "Honorable Chancellor, I realise it is rather inappropriate of me to ask such. . . But when you become available, I humbly ask to share words with you." *She bows her head quickly, leaning into a full bow a moment later*
Blake Keeper of Rolls and Deeds: *the Keeper of Rolls and Deeds waits for the assembled to take a place, then produces a parchement, from which he prepares to eventually read....*
Eliphas Valkarian: *turns around to look at his Squire with a quirked brow*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor looks upon Cecilia* Honorable Paladin, what is your name?
Cecilia Lafayette: *She does not raise from her bow* "Cecilia Lafayette, your excellency. Paladin of Tyr."
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: And to whom do you squire?
Cecilia Lafayette: "Eliphas Valkarian, Grandmaster of the Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary."
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor looks to those assembled, finding he that would be recognized as Eliphas*
Eliphas Valkarian: *doesn't seem to react to his name being mentioned, but focuses his single eye on his protegée as she speaks, nodding.* That would be me. *arises*
Cecilia Lafayette: *Still having not arisen from her respectful bow, her gaze remains focused on the tiles before her.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Your squire seems...impatient, Eliphas. Shall I halt these proceedings for her statement? *he attempts to judge the situation*
Arkaine HalfOrken: *Arkaine unclasps his leather gauntlets and vambraces and rubs his wrists as he keeps his gaze on Eliphas, his visage discernibly perturbed.*
Cecilia Lafayette: *Her head dips further, perhaps embarrassed.*
Eliphas Valkarian: Forgive her... patience is not one of her strengths.
Cecilia Lafayette: "It can wait, your honor." *she murmurs in quiet agreement.*
Eliphas Valkarian: I have-.. *nods as Cecilia speaks*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Then be seated amongst your brethren, Cecilia.
Eliphas Valkarian: *re-seats again*
Cecilia Lafayette: *Moving up the isle, she notices Eliphas' subtle gestures for her to join him and thusly does so.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: The Prelates of the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart have proclaimed that this Auxiliary shall receive a most appropriate Charter, that which reflects the Code by which our Order exists, as well as your existence in this region of the City of Baldur's Gate. Unless there are any that would make a statement, let the Charter be proclaimed...*he looks upon the assembled for a moment, to give them the option to speak*
Cecilia Lafayette: *A creak of armor, she shuffles upon the bench.*
Ferragus Manus: *he shifted his armored bulk on the bench and leaned forward slightly, his forearms resting on his thighs*
Arkaine HalfOrken: *Arkaine's visage is visibly tensed and his expression of neutrality forced as he continues to stare at the side of the head of Eliphas, his own hands clenching and unclenching.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Very well. *he again motions to the Keeper to his left*
Blake Keeper of Rolls and Deeds: I am Blake, Keeper of the Rolls and Deeds of the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart of Athkatla.
Gaervin Goldenshield: *The gnome nods.*
Blake Keeper of Rolls and Deeds: I read to you the Charter, that which has been scribed for your Auxiliary. Then, I will record each of you, as members, to this Charter and this Auxiliary. *he begins to read from the top of the Proclamation* Let the members of the Baldur's Gate Chapter of the Order of the Radiant Heart conduct themselves according to the dogma of their gods and paladin codes. Let the Order be led by a Grandmaster, chosen from among the senior knights by a two-thirds vote. Let him be assisted in matters administrative by a Chairman.
Gaervin Goldenshield: *He tilts his head.*
Blake Keeper of Rolls and Deeds: Let him lead a Council of Senior Knights, to whom any in good standing of one year may apply. Let the main body of the Order by named Knights of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary. Let those that hold the Knighthood take the title of Sir, yet they will remain Brothers and Sisters. Let those seeking the Knighthood take the title of Squire, so as to humbly learn the ways of the Order. Let the Baldur's Gate Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary be led by the Grandmaster, when present. If not, it will be led by one of the Senior Knights, with disputes resolved by a Trial of Wisdom, when suitable. Let any member of the Baldur's Gate Chapter who commits a mortal sin pay the mortal price, as it fittingly paid by traitors. Shall any of these dictates be considered in fault, let you appeal them, now, in front of the representative of the Prelates of Athkatla... *the Keeper steps back slightly, then looks to the Chancellor*
Eliphas Valkarian: *turns his head to watch all the members of his chapter*
Cecilia Lafayette: *Her hand twitches, raising slightly before it drops back to her lap subtly.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor looks out to the assembled, giving air to the room for voices to be head*
Eliphas Valkarian: *quirks a brow at Cecilia's hand-movement*
Cecilia Lafayette: "I. . . have words, Chancellor." *she speaks up, finally.* "But I gave an oath they would not be given out loud." *She draws a few fingers across her brow, moving the stray hairs from her forehead*
Arkaine HalfOrken: *He seems about to speak out, his face contort with tension.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor looks sternly at Cecilia. His gaze then looks to the Knight that she squires to, then back upon her, again* Those of a noble heart and code shall be forward in their beliefs, squire. But a Knight must know their place....*he continues to look upon her, sternly* If that is what you aspire to.
Cecilia Lafayette: "Forgive me Sir, but an oath given might not also be revoked. I understand the imposition and beg your forgiveness. . ." *she trails off, and lowers her head.* "As you say, Chancellor."
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Very well.
Cecilia Lafayette: *She exhales a long breath through her nose, fingers curling on the thighs of her armor.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *he looks over the assembled, again.* Those that are Senior Knights in this Auxiliary, do stand.
Eliphas Valkarian: You will get your chance, whatever it is you are holding back from the rest of us. *he whispers with a slightly wounded voice. He then stands up, putting a hand on Cecilia's shoulder, squeezing it lightly.*
Cecilia Lafayette: *She simply gives a quiet "Mmm", perhaps showing a small measure of distress.*
Arkaine HalfOrken: *He finally speaks out, his voice a rash bellow echoing across the hall.* Hrgnn, doth thine Chancellor in stead of Prelate hold the divine power to detect evil and discern truth from lies? Will his god shine through thine truth for those assembled? *He grunts as he speaks.*
Eliphas Valkarian: *quirks a brow at Arkaine outburst.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor sternly looks to the Paladin that speaks through half-orcen lips* Rise, and say your question of me, again.
Arkaine HalfOrken: Hrgn, can your god discern thine quality of a man's heart and soul and reveal such to those assembled?
Eliphas Valkarian: You distrust your brothers and sisters, Arkaine? *he asks the man, his voice stern*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: The Loyal Fury blesses me, Sir. But a man's heart and soul must submit to Torm, for Torm to see deep within it.
Arkaine HalfOrken: Hrgnn. It must be said that we hath had a traitor betray must fouly to thine Zhentarim in these dark days.
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor holds up both hands, towards Eliphas and Arkaine.* Hold...do you bring a disturbance to this ceremony of implementation of the Charter proclamation?
Arkaine HalfOrken: *He looks at Eliphas and grunts.* One we called brother; Beric Engel.
Eliphas Valkarian: Brother Arkaine here has been wounded once too many times, it seems.
Cecilia Lafayette: *The youngest of paladin simply stares into her own lap, brow creased in thought.*
Eliphas Valkarian: Beric Engel revealed his true allegiance when my Squire was captured in the fortress of Darkhold, a Zhentarim stronghold. Brother Arkaine may believe we have more than one hiding among us... and we do. Or did.
Gaervin Goldenshield: *He looks to Eliphas, a mere quirk of brow.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor continues to look sternly...a permanent but Just expression* I said hold.
Eliphas Valkarian: *about to continue but stops.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *he lets the air hang, to see if any would disturb its silence*
Ferragus Manus: *He rumbled a deep earthy sound that emanated through the hall. He seemed about to say something, but stopped*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Very well. *he looks to the standing Senior Knights*
Eliphas Valkarian: *gives Arkaine a short stern look before re-focusing his attention on the Chancellor.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Do you wish to turn this Ceremony into a Court, one that judges all, and the Auxiliary, past and present? *a hint of concern is heard in the Chancellor's voice*
Eliphas Valkarian: I would prefer we continue.. but perhaps Brother Arkaine is of different opinion?
Arkaine HalfOrken: Hrgnn. I will not bar further proceedings other than to beg of thine Most Noble Order to dispach a Paladin Inquisitor of the High Hall of the Radiant Heart to discern any further corruption within those assembled here who doth swear the Paladin's vows. And the oaths of the Order.
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor considers the request for a time, in silence*
Arkaine HalfOrken: *His voice is grave as he begins a recital* And Torm did command of thee, his loyal Paladins. Bring swift violent death to traitors and those whose hearts hath been rotted by thine corruption of evil.
Ferragus Manus: *The genasi, elbow stood upright on his knee and chin resting on his closed fist in a brooding pose, nodded his agreement to Arkaine's words*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Roll Target: Chancellor Omased Nobleheart
DMFI Dice Roll for: Will Mod: 21 TOTAL: 30
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: If you, brother...any of you...wish to submit to a blessing by the Loyal Fury through my hands, than I will perform such. *he looks at Arkaine, sternly*
Eliphas Valkarian: Evil can be hidden by many means.
Cecilia Lafayette: *Her fingers twitch on her thighs.*
Eliphas Valkarian: If you truly want to eliminate the slim chance that we have a corrupted member among us... then let the Loyal Fury see the goodness in us.
Arkaine HalfOrken: Hrgnn. I will submit mine heart and soul to the predelictions and divine benevolence of Torm.
Ferragus Manus: I will submit to such a blessing, if any here suspect me of treachery.
Cecilia Lafayette: "I submit." *she says simply, a frown.*
Gaervin Goldenshield: *He looks to his brothers.* "So shall I."
Eliphas Valkarian: A good heart cannot deceive, an evil can.
Cecilia Lafayette: *Her gaze drifts up to Eliphas.*
Ferragus Manus: Then you will also submit, grandmaster?
Eliphas Valkarian: You may search my soul for any goodness in me, if you wish.
Arkaine HalfOrken: *He looks around at those assembled who do comply and grunts with respect, and then his gaze finally rests on Eliphas, before nodding to him as well.*
Eliphas Valkarian: I will suggest you all let the Chancellor search our soul for the good in us. It is the only real way to be sure.
Arkaine HalfOrken: Hrgnn. Then let Holy Torm decide who is truly worthy. And let his wisdom be thine end of this debacle of shadows and traitors.
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Very well. The Auxiliary will now present themselves to the Keeper of Rolls and Deeds, binding themselves to the Charter.
Gaervin Goldenshield: *The gnome nods to the Chancellor and steps before the keeper of rolls and deeds.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Let those of the lowest rank among you, stand before me. State your name, rank and dogma before your chosen god.
Cecilia Lafayette: *She looks to Eliphas, questioningly. After a moment, she stands and moves over.*
Blake Keeper of Rolls and Deeds: *the Keeper opens his golden book, and with quill in hand, prepares to write*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Speak in turn, and take the Oath of this Charter. Shall you wish it, I will summon the blessing of the Loyal Fury upon you.
Cecilia Lafayette: *Bowing her head momentarily, she raises her head then to speak.* "Cecilia Lafayette, Squire. Paladin of the Just God Tyr whose dogma is as follows: Reveal the truth, punish the guilty, right the wrong, and always be true and just in your actions. Uphold the law wherever you go and punish those who do wrong under the law. Keep a record of your own rulings, deeds, and decisions, for through this your errors can be corrected, your grasp on the laws of all lands will flourish, and your ability to identify lawbreakers will expand. Be vigilant in your observations and anticipations so you may detect those who plan injustices before their actions threaten law and order. Deliver vengeance to the guilty for those who cannot do it themselves." *She bows, concluding the dogma. Exhaling, she gives a confident nod.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor looks upon her, approving* Do you state openly and with truth that all brothers and sisters of this Order walk the same Code as you, Cecilia Lafayette? And do you take the Oath alongside them, under Tyr's watchful gaze?
Cecilia Lafayette: *She swallows, a pause.* "I cannot speak for my Brothers and Sisters, honorable Chancellor, but I take the oath alongside them in the hope that they do."
Eliphas Valkarian: *A little smile appears on his lips for a brief moment as he nods approvingly to his Squire.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: A Paladin is one of greater faith, squire....*he looks at her sternly*
Cecilia Lafayette: *She considers this, and merely dips her head further* "I cannot take the oath then, because I cannot speak with truth that all walk the same code as me. To do so would be a lie, if it is required. . . . then I cannot do so." *Her voice catches in her throat, she takes a step back.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor's eyes widen...*
Eliphas Valkarian: *quirks a brow at her statement*
Cecilia Lafayette: *She keeps her eyes on the ground, a shattered expression on her features for the briefest of moments.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *with a sweeping glare, he looks across the room to all those assembled, landing upon the one-eyed face of Eliphas. He gives the Knight a questioning glare, as the Squire is under his charge*
Eliphas Valkarian: *looks back at the Chancellor, his face one big question-mark himself*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Brother Eliphas...has a misjudgement been made in the case of this squire?
Eliphas Valkarian: No. Cecilia... what are you doing?
Arkaine HalfOrken: Hrgnn, Sister Cecilia, you were ordained a Paladin of the Temple of the Just God. Sworn to the Paladin's Ethos and code that all Paladins swear and do live by. . .
Cecilia Lafayette: "I have reason." *she states quiet and solemn* "I cannot take an oath that proclaims an untruth. To say all here walk the same code. . . is just that. If I had just a moment of your time Chancellor. . ."
Eliphas Valkarian: You have a reason not to trust all those assembled?
Cecilia Lafayette: *She simply looks to the Chancellor, almost pleadingly.*
Blake Keeper of Rolls and Deeds: *the Keeper scribes away everything that is being said..pages start to flip in rapid procession as many words are stated by the assembled*
Eliphas Valkarian: It is up to you, Chancellor... my squire rarely does anything without a good reason, even if it may be reckless or foolish at times.
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor looks sternly upon Cecilia...a mix between curiosity and annoyance upon his face* You are sworn to speak Truth, when Truth should be spoken, squire. Either before us, you break an Oath to the Order, or one to your god...and thus the future unfolds for you...
Cecilia Lafayette: *Her gaze drops to the floor, a frown finding her brows.*
Eliphas Valkarian: *steps forward towards Cecilia, looking at the Chancellor* May I have a few short words with her, your Excellence?
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor looks upon the assembled, deep into their faces, to see thier expression as one of their members seems conflicted.*
Gaervin Goldenshield: *He looks to Cecilia with an expression of sorrow.* "Please, speak, do not hesitate."
Cecilia Lafayette: "I can not, and will not break the oaths to my God. . . . " *she murmurs, a painted tone to her voice. Opening her mouth to speak, she pauses as Eliphas does so.*
Ferragus Manus: *he placed a large hand upon her shoulder* Speak your piece, sister.
Arkaine HalfOrken: *He looks on, his face stern and unyieding.* . . .
Cecilia Lafayette: *Her eyes raise to those around her* "If that. . . dedication to my oaths sees me no longer welcome in these halls. . ."
Eliphas Valkarian: Just spit it out already, girl... *the soldier in him surfaces for a moment*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor looks to Eliphas* Is it your desire to guide her voice, Knight Eliphas?
Eliphas Valkarian: No, she has her own voice... but she appears to have lost it.
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Yes...her will seems to fail her. *he looks sternly at the timid squire*
Cecilia Lafayette: "My word is my bond. All here understand this." *her voice carries, conflicted rather than timid.* "You ask me to break this, rather than giving me five minutes of your time?"
Ferragus Manus: Does it pertain to the revelations of treachery amongst our fold?
Cecilia Lafayette: "It does. Meant to be discussed in private so as not to cause panic nor friction if such accusations were baseless."
Arkaine HalfOrken: Hrgnn. If it would appease thine truth of the Just God. Then Let us all bow to Torm's blessing before we are sworn to this solemn service anew. . .?
Eliphas Valkarian: Yes, let us show each other that we all have a good heart beating within us.
Arkaine HalfOrken: Torm will only bring swift retritubtion to a traitor.
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *he speaks very dry and heavy to Cecilia* If you Word is of truths known to you as fact, without deceiving will or falseness within, then nothing said should be spoken in private, away from your Order.
Eliphas Valkarian: Or the one you are squired to. *he states sternly*
Cecilia Lafayette: "Then you condemn me." *she shakes her head sadly.* "Either way, I break on oath."
Arkaine HalfOrken: Hrgnn. Is he who did swear you to this secrecy more valued to you than those of your own Order?
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *with an accusation of secrecy, the Chancellor looks to Arkaine with curiosity and concern*
Cecilia Lafayette: "It is not who, Brother, but the principle of the matter. If one has given promise in confidence that certain words or documents would not be shared then this should be understood." *she drops her shoulders, exhaling.* "Yet I have no choice but to speak then. . ." *The paladin closes her eyes momentarily before looking over those gathered with grave, but determined expression.*
Ferragus Manus: *He settled his gemstone-like eyes onto Cecilia, his facial features unreadable like granite*
Cecilia Lafayette: "As you are all aware, my name is Cecilia Lafayette, a devoted paladin of Tyr. I have been serving a Squire within the Order for. . . " *she pauses briefly, a pensive expression on her fair-skinned features* "almost eight months now. My request was made to prevent hostility within the order as it surrounds a matter of great importance, one which I believe truly threatens the auxiliary and everything we stand for. I ask your permission to speak freely and for your forgiveness if at any point my words are too bold, or out of order." *Cecilia's gaze moves to dance over the man's features, her posture rigid and tall as she awaits permission to continue.*
Arkaine HalfOrken: *His jaw is clenched tightly as he clasps his holy symbol with one leather gauntleted hand.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: If you follow a code that Tyr has laid for you to follow...speak the truth, before me. *his stern gaze seems to have become heavier*
Cecilia Lafayette: "Perhaps the best place to start would be surrounding the investigation of infiltration in our ranks. One which has been ongoing since before my time here, and one which continues still. As you are aware, one of our own - the paladin of Tyr known as Beric Engel whom was my mentor before the Grandmaster - was discovered to be a priest of Bane, and a member of the Zhentarim." *Her pale brow creases, her jaw remaining set as she continues her words*
Blake Keeper of Rolls and Deeds: *the Keeper begins scribing with a heavy hand*
Cecilia Lafayette: "It is my belief, however, that the disease of the wicked does not stop here." *with a reasonably quiet creak of armor, she shifts her weight* "I have been personally investigating such taint, previously alongside Brother Ameris. At one point, before I joined the Order, Grandmaster Eliphas was also doing the same. . . yet Beric went undetected."
Eliphas Valkarian: Yes. *nods* With Alexander and Katarina. *he adds, then goes quiet as she continues*
Cecilia Lafayette: "I believe I have uncovered a Zhentarim spy within the ranks of the Order." *comes the statement, her tone even and calm but firm as her chin lifts slightly.*
Cecilia Lafayette: "Firstly, I wish to present you these letters, Chancellor, as part of my ongoing proof of corruption and the image it gives others. In an attempt to keep the heart of our Radiant Order beating, I have attempted to reach out to other factions on the Order's behalf asking what it would take from us to be considered allies. . . officially. Nothing set in stone, of course, I would not be so bold as to do so behind the Order's back. Merely a collection of the written words of their opinions and requirements should it be something the Order wishes to pursue." *from her satchel the paladin withdraws a small stack of parchment, secured in a bundle with a thin piece of twine. She holds them out to the man.* "These are those same letters. I have, however, given my word as paladin that they would be given directly to you and none other."
Eliphas Valkarian: *raises a brow, not quite sure where she is going with it*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor's stern face goes dry...and does not seem pleased by Cecilia's words...though he listens*
Cecilia Lafayette: "You will find these letters vary in their desires, some grantable others not. . . yet the common theme is evident in each and every one of them, from honoured men and women of goodly factions and potential allies. . . they believe our ranks to be infiltrated and we will not find support from other factions, let alone the trust and support of the common folk whom we have sworn to protect unless these fears are annihilated."
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: *the Chancellor looks to the Keeper...who then himself stops scribing, accepts the documents on behalf of the Chancellor*
Blake Keeper of Rolls and Deeds: *the Keeper slowly looks over the parchments*
Cecilia Lafayette: *Pausing, Cecilia takes a breath and allows the Chancellor time needed to browse over the parchment given. Patiently, the paladin awaits his leave to continue and draw her points to a close.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Continue on, squire...what are YOU, saying?
Cecilia Lafayette: "I humbly request, honoured chancellor, that you test each and every one of us in a bid to uncover that which I believe I have discovered. Not just a single test, but two or three as you see appropriate. Something that has no chance at all of being deceived through arcane or divine means if there exists such a thing. You may be questioning why I have not brought this up in it's entirety with our Grandmaster, Eliphas." *her lips purse, head bowed as if asking forgiveness for the following words. Her head does not raise after this, each word uttered coarsely* "I believe our Grandmaster is not who he says he is, and likely an agent of the Zhentarim."
Blake Keeper of Rolls and Deeds: *having read through the parchments in short order, the Keeper makes a sound to get the Chancellors attention*
Eliphas Valkarian: *raises a brow, his face expressing a baffled look, something unusual for him* ... what?
Arkaine HalfOrken: *His hand seems to have without thought tightened around the handle of his warmace, as his face is fiery red with fury.*
Cecilia Lafayette: "I understand the weight of these accusations, given by a mere Squire and the Grandmaster's own no less . . . but a Squire who has served with every ragged breath and beat of a loyal heart." *she continues, saddened in tone.*
Blake Keeper of Rolls and Deeds: Sir, many orders and faiths have sworn by signature that something of evil influences continues to exist in this Auxiliary. But none place blame, only generalization.
Ferragus Manus: *he uncrossed his brawny arms from his chest and a gauntlet went to his sheathed blade* By Helm! *he turned upon Eliphas, his usual placid features turning to outrage*
Cecilia Lafayette: "Allow me to finish. . . please. . . I speak because I cannot allow such to pass without addressing it, the words of my god now ever present. . . be vigilant in your observations and anticipations so you may detect those who plan injustices before their actions threaten law and order"
Eliphas Valkarian: *looks at Cecilia with shock in his sole eyes, it is clear he feels wounded by her accusation.*
Chancellor Omased Nobleheart: Hold! *he raises his right hand. At this time, all in the room would see it to be a special guantlet of exquisite detail and make, with symbols of Torm adorning it*
Cecilia Lafayette: *The words catch in her mouth at the halt... hurt, sorrow and disgust plain on her face. She dares not look in the shocked Eliphas' direction.*
Arkaine HalfOrken: *As the Chancellor speaks, Arkaine's cry of betrayal is cut off and only air passing from his lungs does come forth. The look on his face remains one of contention and fury.*
SANITY IS FOR THE WEAK.
