Anyones desire for this game to be PnP-like is nice, but you cant do that on cost of game balance. This is for sure! Fixing the feint bug (should apply to only one attack), mail Obsidian. Feint works on more than 1 attack because the a round is because it actually works for 1 flurry per round. Flurries are how NWN2 splits attacks because if they did one at a time, it would be impossible to get all attacks in within the round limit.

the flurries can also hurt fienters. I've one that has 4 attacks. some times I fient and get 1 SA, other times 3 SA hits before the fient runs out.

boo hardcode...btw c2k...if you look at the screenshot...youll notice i did indeed subtract the 10 for hostile target, thus 29 instead of 39 =P.
the main point of this argument is essentially... feint had a definite niche in the game, the daring outlaw, the graceful swashbuckler, the dastardly rogue would all fight with a fitting style of guile and trickery. That sort of fighting method really defined a character, and it seemed fitting that people would lack experience dealing with such an unorthodox fighting style that varies per individual.
instead its feels like people are pressured to go 3 levels of shadow dancer/8 levels assassin to grab HIPS.
it was never supposed to use the mechanic of HIPS, its so far flung from the actual skill its just...well....BLEH!
Yes, i could build a Bluff char, i could also build a gish, i could build a number of things to circumvent or power build through this obstacle. I honestly don't have fun doing that...if your issue is potential imbalance, i would argue that point is moot since the focus of this game isn't game balance, but creativity and social interaction.
If you feel i am avoiding the issue of game balance, i would point out your avoiding the issue of this original post, which is the grossly inaccurate incorporation of feint into the game system. Which as a base skill, should be fixed.
The reason i avoid the issue of game balance is again, nothing is balanced. i could point out multi-shot AA/EA builds do insane damage, gishes can solo anything, paladin/sorc/EK smite builds rape face, WM/FBs dont even make sense and are a dime a dozen. The list goes on...this will become a stymied battle field and eventually degenerate into a flame war.
The beautiful thing about this game is everything in this game is varied, i simply want something i felt was sorely overlooked be brought to light and see what the current opinions are, in this regard, thank you everyone for your input.
Oh, in other news....good example of rolling a feint critical failure....
