The meetings of the faithful are undergoing a change, one that will hopefully propel us forward in a positive direction, gone are the days when Mielikki's faithful alone can confront the dangers that confront the forests and surely the other nature's faithful are having problems of similar magnitude. In an effort to increase cooperation and increase the scope of the faithful, I am officially opening the meetings of the faithful to people who pay patronage to any diety of nature, bar the Malarites who shall not be tolerated for their destruction of all things natural.

Clerics of Nature deities are encouraged to contact Robin Silver so that we may take turns leading the faithful to a more fulfilling natural world.

I would also like to ask that any of nature's faithful help as we replant the forest around the Friendly Arms Inn. We have asked permission from Bentley Mirrorshade himself if we could turn the area into a forest and he has given us such permission, as long as it draws more people into the Inn. I would ask that the rangers protect this land and the druids nurture the trees to grow strong.

Please if you are interested or have any questions feel free to contact me. May Mielikki watch your travels through the forests and guide your path. Stay well, stay hidden, stay swift.

With Faith,
Robin Silver"

/* Meetings still at Saturday, 4:00 Central Time. If other clerics wish to hold meetings at different times that is good too.

Also, if you wish to write up a sort description of another nature diety I will add it to the opening post.

"Dear Rangers and Fellow Mielikkians,

Times have been tough for the forest with the abberations sending pyromaniacs into the cloakwoods and the orcs burning the Woods of Sharp teeth.

We cannot allow such attacks on the balance that all of us live in our lives and teach others to live by. The forests we have managed by the Forest Queen's will are being thrown into discord. The animals who depend on the forests have been fleeing, often finding they have nowhere to go. We have all worked too hard to let this happen, we have tried too much, and met with too much success to fail at this point. I do not believe our efforts alone will be enough to maintain the natural order of nature. It is apart that we are weak but together we can be strong.

I propose that all the members of the faith plan to coordinate their efforts in preserving that which we care most about. To this end, I am wanting to start a meeting of the faith where all who worship Mielikki and Rangers who care about the forest are welcome to attend and coordinate efforts to maintain balance. This meeting will occur once per week at Mielikki's Shrine.

Please if you are interested or have any questions feel free to contact me. May Mielikki watch your travels through the forests and guide your path. Stay well, stay hidden, stay swift.

With Faith,
Robin Silver"

Mielikki

Image
Mielikki is the intermediate power of forests, forest creatures, rangers and dryads who serves under Silvanus, The god of wild nature and druids. Together with Silvanus and Eldath, she is one of the three major good aligned nature gods on the server with her primary patronage being Rangers. She is served by Gwaeron Windstrom, who teaches Rangers how to track -- and Lurue, who is patron to magical and talking animals. The major enemies of Mielikki are Malar, Talona and Talos.

If you want more information on Mielikki, read up on her:

What happens at the Meeting of the Faithful: Mielikki.

Image
Mielikki is closely aligned with druids and rangers so I want to differentiate the Church of Mielikki from the duties of druids and rangers.

Rangers are tasked with patrolling an area of land. They patrol this land in order to make sure any dangers that could threaten it are taken care of. In addition to this, they also manipulate the land by building roads or firebreaks -- an area of land where there are no combustible materials. They often do wildlife management as well, making sure that the weakest animals are culled from a population.

Druids are tasked with encouraging the growth of an area. They have spells and rituals that encourages plants and animals to thrive in an area. While Rangers often work in areas that people travel through, druids are more likely to work in the deepest of the wilderness -- away from all civilization.

The Meeting of the Faithful does not attempt to accomplish either of these tasks. The purpose of the Meeting of the Faithful is to spread respect for natural lands -- specifically forests -- and worship of Mielikki and her allies. The way that the Faithful do this is by hosting events for others to participate in that will encourage people to interact and learn respect for the forest and the forest creatures.

EVERYBODY is welcome to attend the Meeting of the Faithful, even if you are merely curious.

What are the Meetings of the Faithful.

Image
The Meetings of the Faithful are something I wanted to set up so that clerics have a mechanism to be clerics. The original idea was that people who were particularly religious or clerical, and wanted a chance to actually do things that a cleric would do, would start a Meeting of the Faithful to bring together the faith.

There is also a player side to this. Players are able to show their faith by attending different Meetings of the Faithful. You do not need to primarily worship a god in order to believe in or attend their meetings. The realms was made with the idea that most people would worship ALL gods in one way or another, even if only on a rainy day basis. In that vein, ALL people are welcome at a Meeting of the Faithful

If you are interested in this model, please feel free to make a thread.

Valge spreads the word of following;

Meeting of the faithful will occur tomorrow as usual by the statue of Mielikki. Any nature follower are welcome to join. We hope to discuss the planting around the lands of Friendly Arm Inn and anything else of interest that is brought up. This is an excellent opportunity to get in touch with other nature fellows who usually spend all their time hiding in the forests.

// Saturday 4pm CST should be 10pm GMT. Statue of Miellikki is on the map where the goblins are. New people don't be shy!

// I am officially giving up on hosting these meetings until I can find a time that works for people. 5 of the 6 past weeks have seen nobody attend and there isn't much point for me to continue to get excited about these meetings if theres nobody who is going to come.

If you are interested in attend meetings about things related to nature, please post here times that work for you. If we can pick out a good time, I will restart the meetings at that time.
