Eldarian can be seen constantly moving in and out of the temple doors with a few scrolls in his gloved hands. He glances upon the building a few times and circles around it before he moves back inside and stays behind locked and closed doors for a few hours.

A small flurry of activity is witnessed within the temple as the Lieutenant-Commander Eldarian and the oft seen Lady Cecilia, a paladin of Tyr, return from their recent tenday of leave. Arm-in-arm with small smiles, they graciously accept the welcome bestowed upon them before transporting their luggage further into the temple.

The pair swiftly return to the duties and tasks that await them.

The doors to the Song of the Morning temple in Beregost creak open and a dwarf lumbers his way through the halls. He approaches the nearest acolyte and requests an audience with one of the priests on urgent business. When quizzed further he gruffly states, "I won't tell ye till I see someone who be a Dawnbringer." With that, he refuses to speak with anyone else until someone more authoritative is fetched.

OOC: Could a relevant authority PM me or reply in this thread. I have an item that would be of great interest to your church. Prefer to RP the whole situation in game if possible

The acolyte bids the dwarf to wait a moment while he fetches someone for him to talk with. A few minutes later the Morninglord Tolan descends a flight of stairs from the offices and greets the dwarf.
  • "Greetings, Master Dwarf. I understand that you have found something that you believe might be of aid to us and our faith. Might I inquire as to what it is?"

After meeting with the dwarf in the upstairs office, the Morninglord Tolan informs Kelddath of a deal he made with the dwarf, sounding rather enthusiastic about it. Not long after he enters the church armory, leaving behind an item that casts the small room in a bright yellow light.

Eldarian can be seen chatting with the Most Radiant for a time, a solemn expression on his features.

After refusing both food and drink from the priest, he passes over a furled parchment and then sets off north to a temple in Baldur's Gate.

A small hooded figure in simple black clothes, carrying a wooden shield and a worn backpack enters the temple in the middle of the night. He leaves a note on one of the front row benches, placing a fine fishing knife on top of it.

"To whomever it may concern,

This knife belonged to a man named Brian. He was found drained of his blood in the forest north of here, along the river. We learned his name from a water spirit, a fey living in the river, who had spoken with Brian several times. I hope you may find his family and return this to them. We of nature investigated his death, but learned little, and it remains a mystery. We may learn more later.

We buried the man properly and he now rests peacefully within the silken embrace of the earth.

*Eleanore can be seen shoveling dirt behind the temple, making what looks to be rows. It is clear that this is not something she does usually as she seems to have much trouble planting the shovel but the determined look on her face says she is not giving up. After a few days work and much sweat it is starting to look like a garden bed, ready for planting.*

It isn't long before rumor start to spread of the return of a well-known Morninglord of the temple, but with every rumor are whispered words of whether or not the Morninglord that returned is the same as the one who left a forthnight earlier.
The figure approaches the temple, his gaze fixed on the large doors, not making any sign of noticing Brian and Ross, the two templars stationed outside. As the figure passes Brian without so much of a word or any sign of acknowledging him, Brian, despite the foreign nature of the man he have come to know well over the past many months, recognize the figure and grabs hold of his arm to stop him.

"Morninglord Tolan! I barely recognized you! Can't spare a word for . ." Brian states in a jovial tone, the words dying on his lips as he notice the vacant gaze in Tolan's eyes. "By the gods! What happened to you?!", he asks, but there is no answer as Tolan just stares blankly at him for a long while. Finally Brian lets go of his arm and Tolan turns without further word, moving inside, leaving the two templars with many unanswered questions.

Once inside, Tolan moves to the one of the benches and sits down. Hands folded in his lap he stares blankly ahead, not paying any notice to the presence of Kelddath Ormlyr. He sits by himself for hours, unmoving, just staring blanky at the stone beside the large sundisk on the far wall.

*A day or two after making the garden bed Eleanore can be seen outside hard at work once more, this time with variety of plants, herbs and seeds. Slowly the garden is starting to take shape. All that will remain now is for it to grow and with much care and love from the small young woman there is no doubt that it will flourish.

The smears of dirt on her face and messy hair are unnoticeable as she offers a bright smile to everyone passing by and is happy to inform them that she is growing the garden to feed anyone who is hungry.*

Some NPC reactions after last week's event.

One of the priests of the temple found the letter and the knife. Proper arrangements were made and Brian's family had a peaceful ceremony of farewell to their son. Brian's mother could be heard saying that she told him getting close to wild spirits never brought anyone any good.

The forester who'd told the Faithful of the dead man told the same story to high priest Keldath Ormlyr in the temple. That a young man had been found sucked dry of blood upstream of the river outside the town. After some consideration and with Segojan's letter in hand, it was decided by the Most Radiant that two capable priests were to be sent to investigate.

The two priests returned this morning and went to report to the Most Radiant, who passed on the information to others. The priests had found the grave and there wasn't any trace of undeath at it, meaning that the body of Brian was unlikely to rise. The priests had spent some time trying to detect any presence of undeath and even investigated a bear cave, in case a vampire had made that its lair there. They found nothing and decided it must have moved on when more people moved about in the area. A vampire loose in the woods, it was decided, would be very difficult to locate and not high threat for the town itself.

The townsfolk in Beregost talk of the strange events. Many tales are said at night in the Risen Pheonix of vampires, one more gruesome than the other. The people don't seem alarmed, the storytelling seems to be a thing of amusement. The townsfolk feel safe in the town and with the temple so close.
