Mr. Mudd looks at the Dwarf with a slight smirk on his face, only barely recognizable sarcasm in his voice.
"Master Dwarf, I do realize there's been Nightal 24 recently, and today we observe Orbar, but the helmet has been already sold and waits to be collected. You can naturally have it, if the buyer doesn't show up."
Then Mr. Mudd realizes he didn't change the ledger entries in all that commotion and he clearly marks the 3 items as sold and awaiting delivery.

"Michael Dunn and I'll offer five large on that ring of the Ranger."

Mr. Mudd replies: "very well, Master Dunn. I acknowledge an opening bid of 5 thousand gold coins for the ring of the ranger. I there is no counter offer, the ring will be yours by the end of this tenday."

Mister Mudd put aside several items. He places them into the box marked "sold" along the ring, successfully auctioned by Michael Dunn some time ago already.
He then puts on display a new short blade emanating with rather strong magical aura.

Mister Mudd ponders for a while, then says: well, Master Zazu, the offer is on the low side of fair, I'd say. But the life teaches to never say “never”, especially in difficult times like this. On the other hand I cannot vouch for the reaction of Master Koba. Let me say that I accept that as a starting bid. However, if it stay at this level I'd expect him to negotiate hard.

It is me! Zazu!
Zazu was deeply disappointed of your last reaction, but Zazu pretty likes the way this dagger shines that's why Zazu still wants to make a deal.
Zazu does not know everything about shiny things, that's why Zazu found someone who knows plenty about trade. The other trader!
He said that he also had shiny staby things like yours and he sold it for 10 bags of gold.
Zazu thinks that his offer is as good as your shiny metal and still wants to trade.

Mr. Mudd smirks a little and reponds:
"If you'd like to discuss market values, my dear friend, I would like to point you to some of the nearby stores. You may have already noticed the merchants in the city are selling worse gear for the higher price. And yes, you recall correctly, they do not even have such strongly enchanted weapons in stock."
Seeing that he may have argued a little to strongly and deter the customer he adds with a calm and gentle voice:
"But let that not prohibit us from having a constructive negotiation, Master Zazu. I am just pointing that there are many facts that shape the prices in the market. If you want me to accept your offer on behalf of Master Koba, without asking him, I'm afraid you'll need to raise it. If not, I'll refer you to him to continue the negotiations."

Zazu does not want your shinny dagger anymore. Zazu found other traded not as greedy as Mr Koba and bought everything Zazu wanted. If your master stop being so greedy maybe Zazu will buy something in a future.

A short man with a bright red cloak and shiny clothes walks over to look at all the shiny items
"Well, since nobody's said anything about this yet..." points to the amulet "I will place a bid of...ten thousand! Yes, that should do. Oh." he then tears out a piece from a book he has and begins to scribble on it "Itoru, that's my name."

"Very well, Master..." *hangs voice, reads with difficulty from the parchment and pronounces carefully* "...Itooorooouuu. I have your bid written down. The necklace will be yours if no counter offer arrives in time. Unless you would like to increase your bid to trigger the buy out clause and not wait any longer?" *ends with encouragement*

Itoru comes back again to the consignment shop asking about the amulet
"So did I win? Anyone else bid?"

"Yes, Master Itoru." *replies Mr. Mudd who obviously practiced pronounciation of the customer's name* "You can collect the necklace as soon as you sign the relevant parchments with Master Koba and settle your due at the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange Bank."

Mr. Mudd may be seen having a longish discussion with Michael Dunn. The prospective client points some inconsistencies in the parchmentwork prepared by Koba. At last, Mr. Mudd grudingly admits that the deal is legally off and returns the ring of the ranger to the items available for sale. Micheal Dunn leaves him in a rather cloudy mood. Mr. Mudd knows he will need to inform Koba that the Executive Committee member made a mistake...
Mr. Mudd also puts some new gear on the display.
