I guess if we presume that simple means no HiPS and no spells that is true.

In that case we are left with our great friend the F/Ro/FB/WM, which requires no finesse at all.

That is kind of what I thought the OP was asking about, but if they have a little experience a HIPSing xbower or archer is pretty easy as long as you stick to the right areas. My hipsing longbowman was a blast and so easy to level to 23.

Indeed. Nobody. I have never "seen" another monk. Ever.

I've seen a fair few. But I reckon earlyish levels can be a bit of a pain - one for an RCR I'd say.

Oh god. That's the truth! I think level 13 is when I finally got hips. Getting to 13 was pretty tough. I had to party pretty much the whole time except for the first few levels in the graveyard.

As a monk? I leveled mine from level 1 and I thought it was the easiest of all my characters to level. Essentially I never party at all. Different strokes I guess.

No. That was with my archer. From what I've seen a pure wisdom monk is a very strong build and straightforward to play. Lots of attacks, good damage from the fire abilities, good AC, DR, immune to just about everything. Yeah. Monks are killer. I was being ironic when I said nobody plays them. My main is a kama monk.

A Favored Soul might very well not know who their patron deity is, only that they can channel divine energy for some reason and might want to discover why.

That makes them easier to RP since they don't need to know their deity's dogma inside-out.

They are an alternate source of power and offer VERY different RP.
Sorry for being off topic here. But I would like to know to what sources it refers to that a favored Soul doesn't necessarly need to be aware of what god or godess she gets the powers from. I think this isn't true.

The point about the soul is that it is due to the nature of being a intuitive caster and not a studied one that it at times interpret the dogma more freely in comparison to clerics. That adds some freedom but, in my opinion, he remains a favored of that god and better serve that god's will and does not walk around like the common fool.

Again I would say warlock. Eldritch spear + frightful blast = easy low lv soloing. The enemies just sit there and die, and rarely if ever manage to even attack once. Very powerful and easy to play. Warlock ftw.

Yup. Wisdom monk is really easy to play, you don't even have to multiclass. Kama monks are different animal, much more rare sight as you need to know what you're doing if you are planning to play one.

On Warlocks, I don't know. In teens I find them quite tiresome to play, due to the horrendous damage per round. I never played one in epic, but I imagine it starts to pick up once you get Eldritch Master, but then you also face much harder enemies.

Yeah. Kama monk is tricky but very rewarding if done right.

Built properly, a warlock is very powerful and can solo the balor and (I've heard) the netherese ruins.
