*A notice would be placed up on billboards and sign posts all up and down the coast bearing the seal of Phoenix Company*

Character hired
Azriel Sumormoon
Description: This tall half elven woman seems to be in her early twenties. She has no identifiable markings other than a small scar on her left cheek. A hint of strawberry tints her blonde hair, which is tied back in a ponytail with a yellow ribbon. Well muscled for a half elf, she seems to be in good health. With gleaming well-kept armor and a long sword at her side, she is battle-ready. Her emerald green eyes frame her porcelain skin drawing a striking contrast. On her capable back is a long bow and in her left hand is a worn, yet sharp looking spear. On the half elf's right side she is guarded by a large tower shield, which she carries at all times.

The Halfling Medune stops by the Phoenix Company lodge on his way to the city, he had just returned from Doron Amar. Upon being informed of the parcel the hin proceeds to investigate the parcel, his typical puzzled and baffled expression are complimented with surprise, he wasn't expecting any deliveries or any gifts and it was certainly too early for his subscription to gnomes gone wild to arrive.

With curiosity the hin spends time examining the parcel itself before gently unwrapping a box, Medune spends an equal amount of time examining the box then shrugs with no further clue, he opens the box the hin pauses for a moment looking confused at the contents not yet fully examining them, first he brings out a written note addressed to him after he finishes reading the note he smiles warmly beaming with pride he gives a sage nod of satisfaction before placing the note down and picking up a wooden figurine, after a short examination the hin holds the figurine close to his chest and falls to his knees bursting into tears crying loudly, despite the tears he retains a wide smile.

Medune spends the rest of the night at the phoenix lodge holding the gift so close that no one could get a good look at it, in the morning Medune continued to go about his business all be it a bit delayed.
I play Medune I think? maybe? probably? I'm not really certain.

On the 8th of Elesias, a heavy crate was delivered to the Phoenix Company lodge by a grumpy old dwarf. Upon receiving it, Sirion Te'Dwa accompanied by a friend, Leonia Leviran'lael, opened the crate and out poured a myriad of rats, scouring through every room of the ground floor of the lodge.

With spells of arcane and regular fire, dagger and boot, the rats were squashed, stabbed and chargrilled, and the two Elves went around the lodge picking up the remains and placing them back in the crate before carrying it outside to burn it on the fire. This was more than a little smelly.

They then proceeded to saddle up a horse outside the lodge, which they rode north along the tradeway, making a short stop in the city of Baldur's Gate along the way.

At dawn, an old man can be seen arriving from the north, nodding to the guards and entering the Phoenix company lodge. Farmer Theo would be dressed in a poorly made brownish coat, tarnished by the long years of exposure to the elements. A large linen cape runs from his neck to his shoulders, covering the man’s large muscular back. As he enters, he would remove his straw hat, and hang it, as well as his cloak, to a nearby coat hanger.

Looking around in the lodge, the old man would smile and take a deep breath. He would then carefully walk over to a near table, making sure he doesn’t wake anyone. On the table, the man would drop a damaged leather bag, from which gardening tools of various size and uses can be seen. Theo would grab a pair of rusty leaf shear, and slowly star trimming and cutting the various outgrowth of the many plants inside the lodge. Once done, the restless old man would go outside, by the barn, and easily lift a barrel filled with rainwater on his shoulder. He would then stop by the kitchen, to fetch a glass jar, in which he would carefully pour the rainwater. After several back and forth, Theo would have watered, trimmed and taken care of every plants in the main areas of the lodge.

After a short break, in which he ate a few vegetables and infused himself a cup of tea, Theo undertook the care of the various plants around the lodge. He would pass the longer of the day removing the bad weed around the roots of the trees and the flowers, as well as watering each one of them, by carefully pouring the water directly to the roots, avoiding the leaves to burn on the bright sun of the afternoon. By two occasion, Theo rested his head in a prayer to Chauntea, the Great Earthmother, once before taking care of two special saplings that were growing quite healthy and well. Theo took special care of the wild sapling, a little to the side of the lodge, as it was clearly struggling harder than its sister, which had barely any shadow.

At the end of the day, satisfied by his work, Farmer Theo would carefully clean the few dishes he used during the day, replace the rainwater barrel along the barn, clean his tools and swiped the floor of the lodge. He would then grab his leather bag, filled with tools, wrap his cloak around his neck and delicately put on his straw hat. The old farmer would then be seen exiting the lodge, nodding to the guards and heading back north.

*rumors speak of a large purchase of food, clothing, and general supplies to be delivered to Phoenix Company. The talk around the area would be about the 10 refugees who was saved from the Drow raid months ago. If any was to inquire further then they would find out that a mourning ceremony will be scheduled soon over the loss of the additional 20 who died while enslaved by the drow. For the moment they survivors seem to be reveling in life. *

*a list would be given to Terri as later from a man who expressed an interest in running the smithy at the phoenix Company lodge*
Wandering_Woodsman wrote:I believe the following will be required to build and furnish a well equipped smithy.

1.) Two (2) forges, with accompanying anvils.

One will be used for general quality iron and steel crafting. This will include:

casting and forging new tools for various crafters such as hoes, shovels, pickaxes, plows, and other necessities, to standard fare equipment using common materials, including items forged from bronze, iron and steel. Cold iron crafting can also be done here, but it is a very time-consuming process.

A second forge will be of much higher quality, and must be capable of being heated to far greater temperatures to accommodate much higher quality materials, and their subsequent work upon.

2.) Two (2) bellows, one for each forge.

The first should be of common quality, and should be easily repairable or replaceable should the need arise.

The second must be of high to exceptional quality, as it will be needed to increase the temperature of the second forge to exceptional levels, and maintain it for as long as necessary to complete the work.

3.) Three (3) barrels, two containing water (one pure, one common) and another containing oil (as pure as possible.)

The common water will be placed at the entrance to the smithy, and any who wish entrance to the forge must take a drink before entry. The forge is not kind, and all within must stay hydrated. I will not appreciate someone passing out from the heat.

The pure water barrel will be placed three paces from the first forge. This will be used to temper and harden standard crafts be it a plow blade or standard issue longswords. The water should be purified, preferably through as fine a cloth mesh as possible so as to not taint the metal during a quenching.

The oil barrel must be placed five paces from the second forge, and must be as pure as possible. This will be used to temper and harden exceptional works, using unusual metals. Once again, this should be filtered so as to prevent taint during a quench.

4.) Molds of common equipment and tools should be procured. These should be common equipment and will be oft used, so replacements should be prepared should one break.

5.) An array of common tools, including multiple hammer sizes tongs, augers, punches, chisels, bits and other miscellaneous equipment needed to adjust the heated metal as needed for the job at hand.

I would advise that the two forges be upon opposing sides of the structure, but a distance away from the wall. Additionally, a table should be present between the forges, but not directly in the path between one and the other. A workbench with the necessary tools (with a full set for each forge) should also be between the forges, but again, not directly in the path between them.

Perhaps the forges on the west and east ends, the workbench to the north of them, and the table to the south, with a clear path between the two forges between.

The forges should have the eastern forge with its anvil and horn to the north, and the western forge with its anvil and horn to the south to allow ease of use. The bellows should be positioned in such a manner as to allow either a second person to work it, or myself if I am standing at the forge.

For the moment, that is all I can currently think of that will be required.

I am sure more will come to mind, but as of this moment, that is all.

Sirion shows up at the lodge with a horse that he ties up outside before going in to leave a note for Terri and Netanya that he no longer owes them a horse. If anyone asks, he would tell them its name is Charlie.

(( Thanks to DM Creo for aiding in both theft and replacement ^^ ))
