Somewhere in the Lyons Way, the afternoon quiet is disrupted by crackling energy and flash of light. Soon afterward a woman walks up the trail into the Keep carrying a heavy backpack. The gate guards enthusiastically greet her before she askes where can she find Guide Valerius.

A few hours later she sits atop the western wall gazing toward the setting sun as it slips below the sea.

*A woman matching the description of Beatrix has been seen often visiting Candlekeep, paying visits to a young girl in the care of the Infirmary nurse.*

Valerius Rokranon was seen in Candlekeep again, several tendays after his departure. The man famous for wearing a "dress" and a smile was clad in blue armor, with a stern expression -- and accompanied by many high-name persons, including his brother Sir Jonas Rokranon, the living saint, Merielle Silene, the Doron Amar Councilor, Siomir Danneren, and the acting Guide of Candlekeep, Vauk, among several others.

The group was seen departing the library fortress, only to return several hours later, every one of them covered in blood -- some of it their own -- and dirt.

Most of the group who are not currently affiliated with Candlekeep (including Valerius himself) were said to have gone into the Candlekeep Inn, bypassing the infirmary entirely, while the rest entered the library keep.

[Meri... insisted on tea before bed... She takes a moment to send a messenger with letters to the orphanage and the temple stating that she is well, but will be further delayed.

She spends long moments in prayer, often can be heard murmuring, almost apologetically to Bentley. Though the blood of the battle is washed away... the worry is not. She grumbles about Red Wizards, cults, and ill-willed, badly tempered gods, as she tries to stubbornly stave off sleep a little while longer.

In a state of exhaustion she had not been seen in for some time... Most of the teapot goes untouched... and the woman falls asleep on a couch in the Inn common room, scarce into her second cup of tea. She stirs often, but doesn't wake until just before dawn... When she stumbles up to a room, makes sure the mirror is covered... and goes back to sleep.]

The next day, a rested but bruised Reader Valqis buys all of the arrows that the Candlekeep merchant has to offer. Her only comment is that there are not nearly enough arrows.

Later in the day, she comments to a guard, "tell tlhe ghide tlhat i will be studying tlhe map vor kursed kold kaves. maybe tlhe next time we kan be more near to our target." while patting her sachel. Then she enters the Spellflicker Tower and is not seen the remainder of the day.

In the downtime of rest, Jonas pens a letter and asks Valerius to send it by magical means to Mulhorand, to the Ankhalab estate. He then proceeds to prepare for the upcoming mission.

[Following a battle that was frustrating for more than one reason... Meri stays at Candlekeep, keeping watchful eye on Bentley during his stay at the infirmary. She finds herself checking on him when sleep fails to find her, which is often. She seems thoughtful at best, writing in her idle moments. Her tea often untouched, as plans are made to find Mrs. Mirrorshade.]

Thomas the Tanner tells a tale of hearing a woman's beautiful voice finish a song, soon followed by seeing a nervous elf kneeling in the street before the gaily-clad songstress while they exchanged hushed words for several minutes. The elf then rose and, lifting her in his arms, swung her around as she giggled joyously.

He simply blushes when asked what followed.

*rumors in Candlekeep begin to circulate about a drunken man who was babbling on about a dead man's skull. Most took it for drunken banter, as the man smelled strongly of alcohol and pipeweed. Apparently he refused to remove the white bandana around his face, and invited the guards to attempt to take it off of him*

The man known as Kalma approaches the gate, accompanyed by two sailor looking men hands on their swordhilts and a one old wolf. "Ahoy there! Oh, we are here to... Ummm... Pass a letter? Aye. That tie---" He coughs and continues smiling a bit to the confused guards. "Guide Valerius Rokranon lives? Great news! As I said before I would like to pass a letter to him. I know that you fellas dont allow wolves in so we wont even try. Answer for the letter can be send to Friendly Arms Inn or to Roaringshore." Two men which accompanied Kalma give little to none interest to their talking, they eye guards weapons and other travellers as Kalma does the speaking. The old wolf simply stays at Kalma's side like a loayal friend. "Here you go, lads. Farewell and bitter ales." Kalma gives them a letter, sealed with a wax signet, symbol of the howling wolf can be seen. He makes a dramatic bow and walks to same way where he came from, whistling a merry tune. Kalma's grim company follows him.

Reader Valqis travels often for her research project. Her latest journey took her far east to Mulhorand. She seemed to be very irritated on her return talking about those "stiv people obsessing about tlhey Deatlh" and their leaders being generally difficult and uncooperative.

She left Candlekeep a few days later telling the Guide she was going to her home islands for the Festival of the Equal Day. It was going to be very special this year because there is a full moon on the same day. And it is her birthday. She hopes to return a few days later.

There was a huge islands-wide party with practically everyone on Qarnaq joining in what amounted to a 3-day drunken bash in tribute to their sky god, Nut, and the coming spring. Whether or not anyone on Faerun 3000 miles away did the same was not something that crossed Valqis' mind.

While seemingly out for a pleasant ride on his palfrey, Moonbow, Sir Rokranon stops by Candlekeep and gives a letter to Lucavern or whoever the guard currently on duty is, with a request that it be given to Valerius as soon as possible. If he is still not at the Keep, then Jonas requests it be sent by magical means, and leaves the appropriate amount of coin to see it done.

Candlekeep, Barracks, Cell.

Somehow the Outlaw Captain have got alcohol, smell would say rum and he is having good time. Dancing alone and singing with somewhat good voice.
"Fifteen men on a dead man's chest
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Drink and the devil had done for the rest
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

We wrapped 'em all in a mains'l tight
With twice ten turns of a hawser's bight
And we heaved 'em over and out of sight,

With a Yo-Heave-Ho! and a fare-you-well
And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell
Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell,

Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!
"
Kalma dances and turns to face bored jailor, whispering to him "Lets see if the crimes stop when I am here... You will see! You all will see, I didnt do any of this... Hahhaha!" The captain falls sitting and looking around. "She is here... You cant see her but she is always here. Whispering... Commanding what to do. She sees it all. Cant sleep anymore without her coming in dreams."

Before leaving the keep, Hoihe told Sonny and Rico, that he will not return for the night. He said that he has a few prayers overdue, and will hold a ritual at midnight in the cloudpeaks.
