There should be a reason to go there, other than just the quest! With all those caves and buildings thats out there, its ideal for any builder to make caves for!

Hey I'll build the caves, if there is any interest in me doing it!
Well, I know that some couples use the Bilberry Island as a love spot... That or Ulgoth's Beard which is another lovely built area.

If you do happen to make those caves, would it be possible to leave one of them as non-hostile? There is only one cave where it does not spawn anything in on the server, we could do with a second!

You could also build the caves all on one large map, I think that saves on server resources. Just have enough distance so chat is not heard. Thinking of that, I think the caves would be suitable as separate ones but could also be connected. The latter might mean a bit more work and I do not think it needs to be complex to be exciting. It is just a disappointment those caves were never used in any way.

Just make the underdark a big epic area (new areas+ reworked underdark wilds) and lift the rules in these.

- Existing Underdark Wilds: Two portals leading to planes.
- Underdark Aboleth Cave
- Underdark Beholder Cave
- Underdark Faeerzress Cave (Faerzress infused cave with transformed animals)
- Underdark Tunnels with a Portal where Demons invade the realm
- Plane 1
- Plane 2

For surfacers it gets an additional drill when a drow patrol could caugh them.

Hold wait....why are you discussing? It will take 5 years until something gets added.

Could just make the overall lving process faster. BG is pretty much the slowest server when it comes to gaining lvs and speeding that up in addition to adding more epic areas would give it a major boost in that area. Would also prob draw more people to play here as the main reason people tell me they don't play here is cause lving is so slow. Might be able to get our population back up into the 60s or 70s if that is done.

sorry, if anything I would like to see our server moved to a lore appropriate power level and more lower level content.

Ah, Lore. Law. Yaw. Yawn.

The whole server is a contradiction in Lore terms. Just get over it. The whole point of any game is for players to have fun.

sure!

and different people enjoy different things, which is fine,

personally, I enjoy immersive roleplay and storytelling based on what I call the C's

creativity
cohesiveness
credulity
collaberation
choice
consequence
consistency
continuity

those aren't the only words I could use, but I think the list is 'catchy' ;-)

But what does leveling have to do with role-play? This is a role-play Server, first and foremost, is it not? It seems never ending that people equate leveling faster with a better experience of playing here. So what do you get at level 30 that differs from the experience of level 1 through 29? One can make a great story from level 1 forward, and does speeding up that story make the story better?

I strongly disagree, no game has ever benefited in the long run from making players level easier and faster.

This..

I think it should be as tough as it is now, it will be all the better when you eventually do max out. I think its important that this game has that unique feel when it comes to "maxing out". I can only compare the personal feeling I have to that of Diablo2 and reaching level 99 because nothing really compares in my mind.

So many games these days are influenced by people wanting to get through content faster and it has utterly destroyed specific franchises for me. Keep the experience gain as it is but do make more areas that are immersive and offers a great adventuring feeling :) Perhaps the key would be quests for specific locations already established, like several of the northern area's.

P.s. all quests dont have to have XP rewards

Not saying to make lving super fast... just slightly faster. Say instead of getting 20-30 xp areas give 40-60 xp. Its still a low amount compared to other servers and it will still take years to reach 30 even with it specially when you add the diminishing xp gain as your lv gets higher. This would make it slightly easier to reach 20 but still make getting to 30 a feat in itself.

Thank you for saying it, Steve.

Now, I enjoy leveling as much as the next person(I'm up to 7 alts I think?), but I don't think I've seen the heightened level of server-grind-mode that we're currently experiencing.

On any given day one can find 75% of the server in grinding areas, and the characters involved are engaged in very little RP while doing so. Heck, I've scarcely seen a few lines of roleplay from most of the epic level characters that can be found raiding the yuan-ti dungeon on a daily basis, and it only makes it that much harder to try and RP with them when I finally do stumble into them in public areas. My main character, at this point, has literally no clue who half the population of characters are(admittedly, he's been reclusive lately, largely thanks to a string of either antagonistic or just plain painful RP experiences), and probably only knows a handful of people he'll even bother to speak with(then again, he's a fairly anti-social jerk in his own right  ).

At the risk of irking people in this thread, I would honestly rather see XP from killing monsters either lowered by 10%, or see global respawn rates trimmed, and RP XP given a small boost rather than being given more grinding incentive with new epic areas.

XP seems fine these days. It isn't too high or too low. Allows for the grinders to grind and rpers to rp. More areas are always nice of course. Gotta say I know the feels Snarfy.

In general I don't do any rp till I am at least 20 on any server. All the major ongoing plots are for high or epic lv characters and I see no reason to get involved with them till I have the gained the requisite lvs. Same goes for most of the player driven plots as well. Trying to partake at low lvs is futile, wont get any xp, will die constantly, and wont be able to make any significant contribution. I would be a vulnerable target in need of babysitting at best or a complete and total waste of space at worst. Until I reach 20 grinding will be my primary activity. Does not mean I wont rp with people who want to, if someone talks to me I will of course return the favor... its only polite. Still rp is not top priority at this time.
