How is it hard? I mean yeah. Torture is one thing, and if you think about it. We're role playing. In other words. If we can't go crazy why not let the dice do the talking. Such if you roll a one in whatever stat your rolling to torture. Let's say dex for a nice slow slice on the chest just skin deep. You roll a one. Instead of just skin deep you ended up just stroking the person. Giving the ability for conversation such as
"Is that supposed to hurt or tickle" *Rolls dex rolls 20*
Warpping his legs around the assailant head yadda yadda... make it so there's risk involved. I mean yeah. You look stupid not tying him legs up, but you did take everything else. He may snap your neck he may not. Depends on how much you drugged him before this.

It's all perspective and if the other person consents.

Shout outs to Cara, Isrea, Marcel, Terri, Valiant, Telia, Mercury, Desrah, Bella, All of Dark Coven and Zhents. Awesome torture rps. They dish out just as good as they can take it.

Torture is the only thing that can be heavily affected by the pg13, mostly because there are situations where the type of torture rp might prove crucial to the victim breaking or not. I say can be, because if both parties are there to create a roleplay scene instead of being there to "win", you can get through it well enough with pg13 in place. If they aren't there for the same reason... Forcing gratuitous violence on the victim will hardly help the situation. Quite the opposite IMO.

I personally find having my character stubbornly attempt to break his fists on the victims face mixed with intimidating emotes and dialogue which hint at his furious resolve more than enough. And I have had plenty fun with that without breaking the pg13 rule (ty Israe <3). Though, to be fair, I personally don't like rping expert torturers, so my example probably isn't valid to someone who does.

If it's hard to play evil, it's not due to rating, but for other reasons. I don't think I will have any problems with my cleric of Loviatar for not being able to go into details of some violence :) The hardest part is getting together with people for evil stuff, or rather not for evil stuff even, but simply playing an openly\known evil char. But it's doable. I'm sure :)

So hey I'm one of those stupid people who for some reason feels like he should give his two cents even though he's had absolutely 0 presence on the server and is posting this before his own introduction--

Let that sink in a moment.

Anyway, I'm from Arelith the NWN:DE server, and we don't have these rules, but the worst we get in regards to 'swearing' is the occasional shiz, f bomb, but really?

That's about it, and even that is rare, and I mean /really/ rare, and we've got no rules on literally any of it, (barring ERP, we find that utterly repulsive) people just don't swear because it sorta breaks lore in most of their eyes to use modern curses.

I've found, in my sordid history of DMing, admining, and all that, that hardcore policing usually results in burning DMs/Admins/Players out if it's enforced to nazi-esque levels.

Anyway yep.

Those are my thoughts.

Ahem.

Hi.

(Oh, and we have some really evil people in Arelith, one guy almost permanently crippled my poor Mage for calling his deceased lover/friend/colleague an incompetent layabout, but really? That grievous, gory wound practically made the character from that point out.)

Hi to you.

If the bracketed is your definition of "really evil", you should hang around a while more...it looks like we've got a lot to show you...

Have fun, and welcome!
