Is the "specifies" a written description problem and/or physical cannot-select it problem?

Reason being, the TLK file is where the description is located. The other is in class 2da files.
So far its only a description since I have no way of testing it without rerolling... I asked a QC member and he said you cannot select it for wizard... so both.

I've found a (fatal!) bug with the otherwise fantastic 5th level illusion spell, Programmed Image.
There seems to be a brief moment in between the double being summoned and it being dominated. My double used a polar ray scroll which I'd been saving on me during this window and killed me!

Luckily I had a friend witness it, and after much laughter, raised me.
Something to look into.

Techsmith is implemented only for clerics - http://bgtscc.wikia.com/wiki/Techsmith_of_Gond

I think lisa asks to open it up for wizards too.

It would be great to create a Golemancer :)

Surely Wizards are more logical than Clerics? Makes no sense to me.

Hey Rhifox cheers for the reply.

Actually summon greater undead is an excising evil conjuration summoning spell from the source books, thus it should fall under augment summoning.
Which it has been doing all this time on this server.
Even if we ignore sourcebooks, the feat clearly states it's a summoning spell.

Though palemasters actually have an undead cohort , also the nwn2 palemaster doesn't exists in Pnp.
In that case it should not benefit from augment summoning, how ever it should be treated like an animal companion not a summon.

Not sure if this change has been intended though, looks more like something they forgot.
It might not be working because the Elite Vampire is a feat-based summon, not an actual spell. Augment Summoning does not affect my Animal Companion, for example.

Though maybe it was changed intentionally since Elite Vampire is not a Conjuration [Summoning] spell and technically shouldn't be affected by Augment Summoning? Same reason Contingent Summoning is not supposed to work with the Pale Master summons, as mentioned in your previous thread a few weeks ago.

It works just fine with Summon Creature IX, and Phantom Bear, both Conjuration [Summoning] spells. It spawns first with the buffs, then makes them natural so that you can buff them further. This is how it is intended to work, based on posts the devs/QC have made on these forums in the past.

Well, right now I am able to have two permanent companions (Animal Companion + Perma Summon). I was walking around with the same Phantom Bear (a 1 round/clevel) summon for over an hour, enough time to do every quest. So Planar Cohort is working. The question is if it is working in the way it is intended to. If this is an intended change, then it's something that the devs should make clear, I think.
That requires a very specific cleric build with Thaumaturge and animal companion domain.
If you look a at a wizard the main good thing about Thaumaturge is the fact the cohort functions as an animal companion.
Pre patch just fun to RP it , and after the patch the cohort is actually not 100% useless.

Greater planar binding lasts 1 min a level, Thaumaturge has extended already.
The last talent 'making it permanent' makes no sense at this stage from a wizard perspective.
Besides in my case if I go 10 PM and summon an elite vampire, why can't I have a cohort out?

Unless Palemaster and Thaumaturge aren't suppose to be picked together.
Since most feats don't work together anymore.

Could a DM clarify if the planar cohort change is intended or a bug?

Has anyone tested Thaumaturge with Techsmith of Gond? When I try contingent summoning I get nothing. The character is level 30 human Cleric 15, Techsmith of Gond 10 and Thumaturge 5.

Thaumaturges used to use their animal companion slot when using Greater Planar Binding. If your animal companion slot had meta-data associated with it, the creature you summoned from Greater Planar Binding would have the same name as your animal companion.

Greater Planar Binding no longer summons a creature into the animal companion slot. This means:

Before Update: You can use Gate and Greater Planar Binding to have an angel and celestial bear out
After Update: You can have either an angel or a celestial bear, but not both.

Just got dispelled and had the following appear in the combat log:
Dispelled: Protection from Energy - Barkskin - Cat's Grace - Shield - Bad Strref
While it's nice to know that I don't have a Bad String Reference anymore I don't think it's supposed to be there...
The only other effect I had running was Haste, so that would be probably be what it was trying to look at.

My question would be if this is intended or not.
Since it pretty much breaks my build (and I have no idea how to fix it RP wise haha).

Pre patch the celestial bear was the only good summon,neutral/evil characters had garbage so thaumaturge cohort was mainly for rp value from a wizard perspective.
After the patch an extra cohort actually feels rewarding, but not if you can't summon something next to it.

In that case the last level of Thaumaturge is pretty useless now.
It doesn't effect gate/epic gate and summons last long enough with out it (especially with the extended feat)

Personally I hope planar cohor will be put back into the animal companion slot.
I always thought the idea behind Thaumaturge was getting your own 'planar ally animal companion'.

Been testing pommel strike and lunge today with a sneak attack PC:

Pommel strike
1. If the strike misses, I get sneak attacks until the beginning of the next round - just like with Feint (If the strike hits I'm granted sneak attacks only in the next flurry).
2. If I begin the fight with that strike it comes as a free attack, i.e., if I win the initiative I get both (i) pommel strike and (ii) sneak attacks in the first flurry at highest attack bonus; all before the opponent strikes back.
3. The reflex DC, the one that danies DEX to AC if failed, is different for various creatures. So far I observe it's higher for casters.
4. Pommel strikes uses up all remaining attacks in the round. You could lose both 2nd and third flurry. I think the description does not clarify that entirely, but description is a really minor issue, afetr all.

Lunge
1. There is no attack of oportunity.
2. If I begin the fight with that strike it comes as a free attack, i.e., if I win the initiative I get both (i) lunge and (ii) sneak attacks in the first flurry at highest attack bonus; all before the opponent strikes back (works the same as pommel strike in this regard).

As a side note: does it really makes sense to invest in Feint with these free feats? Seems to me Feint is worth taking only for the perfect two weapon fghters now.

You no longer gain the Archmage qualification feat with two spell focus's, So you can no longer take the Archmage class apparently.
