eh??? High Elf is a 2nd edition thing... I imagine you are thinking of Sun Elf? (I forget which new elf race is equivalent to high elf, but I think it's sun...)aaron22 wrote: high elf

Re: Adventuring party
Well, there seems to be a LOT more people interested in this than I anticipated. It seems I didn't clarify some things, but I think my idea was to start up a discussion when I wrote the OP. So, let's setup some guidelines:
Level range - I would prefer if it was 5-10. If a group wants to start from level 1, you can do that as well, but interaction with my character would start around level 5 (I'm not sure how to handle a level 1 party with the available dungeons honestly). Speaking of dungeons, if anyone has a list of dungeons and outdoors on BG along with their CR's, a pm with that list would be much appreciated.
Alts - this is most definitely suited for alts. The only way I can see someone fully focusing on a character like this is if the other members of the party did the same, and played at the same times.
Grinding - Well... this is meant for adventure. While I have nothing against people grinding, it would be nice if during these "sessions" the group actually roleplayed the entire time.
Muling - some people have indicated that they do not want gear muling. If we are to make more than one group, we can split those people apart.
Party - Seeing as there's so many people interested, it would be MUCH easier for me if those who are paired up together actually came up with linking backgrounds to their characters, making them already a part of an adventuring party. While there is a definite OOC intention behind all of this in the setup, premade parties eliminate some aspects of it.
Honesty - if at one point you don't consider this to be fun anymore, do not hesitate to say so openly! No one will be mad at you, and we can come up with an ending to your character's involvement. The party can then look for a replacement.
??? - if you have any other concerns pm me! I will edit the OP a bit later with all of these later.
A list of players (all times are in GMT):
chad878262 - 13:00-20:00 (no weekends)
mrm3ntalist - flexible (muling)
Theodore1 - ? (no muling)
AC81 - 11:00-?
OXHawkXO - ?
Kiran - 18:00-23:00
Young Werther - ?
khaevil - ? (no muling)
^wife - ? (no muling as well I assume)
Darraljod - 04:00-10:00 (weekdays), 18:00-10:00 (Saturday), 01:00 - 10:00 (Sunday) (no muling)
TheLier - 19:00-23:00 (weekdays), flexible (weekends)
aaron22 - ?
RagingPeace - ?
mixafix - ?
That's fourteen players.
I would like to point out some things, as it seems like some people have not understood the OP: this is not a thing ran by the DM team. The general idea was for you guys to form an adventuring party, if that's the kind of RP that you enjoy, and my character can serve as a "questgiver". I will try to make the hooks interesting, and interactions enjoyable, but while you are adventuring you make your own fun. If a DM at some point wants to get involved from time to time and spice up some things (like DM Galatea proposed in the thread), that is up to them entirely. If the RP eventually reaches a point where asking for DM support is needed, we can send in an official request.
if all of the fourteen players listed above are still interested, it means we would have to split up in three parties, two parties of five, and one party of four. I need a few more playtimes before I can determine the groups, so please send me a PM.

You forgot M3ntalist... I think the only thing he wasn't keen on was the 'no muling' idea. (plus this would make it 3 parties of 5.)

I didn't
Another thing I wanted to point out is that your characters won't be glued to my character, if you wish to pursue other avenues, you are ofc free to do so! I might even open a thread in the elfsong to serve as a notice board should others have work/rp for the groups.

Forgot to add.
Weekends I am very flexible too, though currently building/working on my new house, so saturdays are iffy as I am not made to do construction... or lifting...

Re: Adventuring party
yes high elf would be a forgotten term. that would be me thinking about one thing and typing another. wood elf from high forest would be what i was thinking. and sure start at 5. that sounds good.
anyway i could do 2000-2200 GMT but would prefer 2400-200 GMT. but im sure i could work something out with the "boss" if needed.

I used to participate in this kind of group, but it sorta fell apart. So I'm not looking for it again.Thids wrote: Honesty
Speaking of levels, you can absolutely have a blast with level 1 group of four people with beginner equipment. There are several fun areas around BG designed for that. As long as you have a fighter and a mage, you should be able to manage. If you have 6 guys or so, you could probably make it to FAI by yourselves (as long as nothing by the fAI tries to jump you).
Basically, level 1..6 is one of the most fun sweet spots during leveling.
You should hit level 6 in 3 or 4 sessions if you start a slevel 1.

Re: Adventuring party
Maybe it is a bit late to answer, but these last days have been holiday here in Spain. I would like to join too (if there is still some free space lol). I have planned a hin assassin build since some time ago, this could be an interesting opportunity to develop him. My playtimes are (more or less) 19:00-22:00 GMT weekdays, 12:00-18:00 Saturdays, 12:00-22:00 Sundays.
Oh, and great idea Thids, I like it very much.
EDIT: I like the idea of starting a party with no muled equipment too

Re: Adventuring party
Twice before such groups have been threatened and never actually gotten off the ground. This one looks like it might actually happen. I'd be interested in joining one of the groups.
Play time is limited - most weekdays 2000-2300, one day probably can start earlier, but the day will vary. Weekends depends, but certainly more hours at least one day unless I'm away.
The character I'm thinking of would be a Wood Elf called Gon Kallo', a lute player of no small talent (in his own words).

Re: Adventuring party
A brief summary of the character I propose creating for myself:
"Abadagus"
Human (Athkatlan), Swashbuckler
Align: Neutral (Chaotic)
Long messy black hair with goatee and mustache, dark olive skinned, dark eyed
Character Concept: A disgraced duelist. His face is lined with rapier scars from taking strikes - he is missing bits of his ears, even his nose - all quite fashionable for a man in Athkatlan fencing circles. He has a terrible reputation in Amn as an underhanded scoundrel, womanizer and adulterer of the noblemen's wives. He is adventuring in the Sword Coast in hopes the outrage caused by his most recent debacle in Athkatla will have subsided enough for him to return home without being lynched by his aristocratic enemies.
Due to an egocentric nature, Abadagus will assume leadership roles in the absence of a true leader. Abadagus tends toward goals of renown, revenge and romance.

Re: Adventuring party
I edited the OP with all of those interested and playtimes . 16 people so far. It's a lot, and now I'm faced with the logistical nightmare of pairing people up together
. Those without a defined playtime, please respond in the thread over the next few days. Otherwise, I'll count you as losing interest.
