Thanks for the response!

Another question, if i may please. How much of a bad move would it be to create your PC early with the two feats mentioned above, prior to the enchanting system's actual release? I understand the system has been an ongoing process for the last few years. Does anyone expect it within the next few months?

Inquiring minds want to know! XD (Because my alt has these skills/feats/spells as he default since I just "jumped right in" with her.)

I would not design a character with the idea that crafting will be in place soon. :? We've been promising crafting for the last six years.

Although the current system is as far as we've ever gotten in mechanically producing real results towards a unique crafting system, I would still wait until it's in place to design a character explicitly for it.

No status, no progress communicated to QC since the Big Update several months ago. Mind you QC hasn't even resumed discussing crafting yet as we're dealing with a few other interesting projects at the moment.

Elemental damage on weapon doesn't multiiply on crits. Dragon Warrior may work differently (although I'm skeptical about that), but elemental enchantment and WoD oil do not multiply on critical hit.
If an item is enchanted with bonus elemental damage, that damage does not multiply on a crit. However, if you add damage to an item through a spell or ability, such as the Dragon Warrior's ability, Elemental Archer's ability, or bard's sonic weapon spell, those do multiply on critical hits.

Also.. Physical damage is better simply because even if a creature has resistance to physical damage, such as with stone skin, do to the amount you deal, the physical damage bonus will still bypass the damage reduction.. (IE, you do 15 physical damage, your weapon deals a bonus 3 damage physical, you still deal 8 damage through stone skin)

With elemental damage, if they have a natural resistance or resistance via a spell such as resist elements, the elemental damage gets nullified. (IE, you deal 15 physical damage, your weapon deals 3 bonus cold damage, liches are immune to cold and it has stone skin, you deal 5 damage instead of 8)

The only way elemental damage is better is if you don't deal enough physical damage to bypass a creature's DR or the creature has physical damage immunity instead of damage resist and the creature has no elemental resistance vs your weapon. (IE, you deal 15 physical damage, your weapon deals 3 physical damage, the lich has premonition, you deal 0 damage, vs potentially dealing 3 fire had the weapon been enchanted with fire)

Still a case even in that rare situation for physical damage enhancements since it chews through damage reduction spells faster, and it is unlikely you are going to kill the creature purely off the bonus elemental damage.. unless you are a hin dual wielding daggers with 6 str...

Can QC put things on hold regardless of how interesting they may be and actually focus on this? I mean.. 6 years later and its still what the people want.. Lol.
Not to say those other things aren't important.. Its just.. Crafting man!

Hello,

Has there been any kind of determination behind the scenes concerning warlock and crafting?

If there isn't one already there needs to be a tune for saving throw bonuses of some sort!

Seeing as the last post is from over six months ago, I thought I'd bump the topic and see if there has been any progress.

No, not as of yet. I realize demand for this is high, but from my perspective it would be a disservice to the quality of the module and the community at large to try to hamfist something incomplete into the game at this late stage of its life.

Long story short, when we have something that's both workable and complete we'll add it to the game. Enchantment and crafting systems are complicated projects to tackle from a development standpoint, and though Rasael has developed a functioning system for enchantments until he's comfortable that it's ready to go live we'll keep it on the shelf.

But I can promise if and when such a system is ready and polished we'll make an announcement on the forums with further details of how crafting and enchantment will work on BGTSCC. :)

Seriously you all are like drug dealers. You give us just enough to take off that edge but not enough to get high........

Just give me my crafting already!!!!
