Humans do apparently taste good... at least the few remaining tribes of (relatively) peaceful cannibals think so and say as much to curious visitors. Problem with cannibalism is that eating humans causes some really nasty brain diseases after a generation or two and these get progressively worse generation after generation. Same thing seems to happen to any animal that eats its own kind... it would appear nature, and or (maybe) god does not want us or the animals eating our own.

As for other animals i do give thanks for them and try to treat them humanely assuming i am not going to eat them. Given that i never actually encounter the animal that becomes my meal
i thus treat animals humanely. I just wish they would understand i want to help them and am not a threat. Most animals i encounter are deathly afraid of me no matter what i do to show them i am not hostile.

I ate a raw buffalo heart once.

I tasted like blood, which was suprising, I thought it will have some horrible taste or something, but no. Also I watched how it was killed an all that. And damn do you respect buffalos after that. Even 20-30 make the ground tremble. Imagine when thousands ran...

When you see them in real life, those indian stories (the trembling ground first, then days after their dump, and then you spot them) seem much more believable.
