Re: Anyone tried to solo the Icedragon?
Lol solo the white wyrm... dumbest thing I have heard yet on these forums.
Maybe if I had my warrior cleric from nwn sinfar server I could solo it perhaps since that character would wipe the floor with everything on this server but I don't have him and characters here cannot get anywhere near as strong as you could there. I don't see it being possible for anyone to solo it with the max power pc's can reach on this server. It is simply not possible and would be a waste of time.

I dunno what this dragon can do and how easily it can dispel people but I can't imagine it would be that difficult to be two manned by a warrior and a cleric pair maybe soloed by a favor cleric if they can maintain energy immunity and regenerate. How much hp does this thing have?

Re: Anyone tried to solo the Icedragon?
I've tried it with my dwarf, Grimm Oathbreaker.
The white is annoying to face because of his immunities. The only way to really damage him is with Epic divine might or warlock blasts, as his DR is something like 30/- with 25% physical immunity. On top of that he has +20 regeneration and 60-ish AC. It starts at around 10.000 HP. Immune to bigbys and gets a reduction vs most elements and magical.
His AB is around 60, but its multi-attack, so he gets more than everyone else. Each hit does around 50 physical and 10 cold damage.

Re: Anyone tried to solo the Icedragon?
Thank you for all your suggestion and attention.
My friend and I have killed the Epic boss with 2 toons.
Thanks to RCR, we have a chance to try.
My friend is lvl 27 and I am lvl 30.
During the whole fight, we spent a few potion of heal (around 6) and an improved magic armor scroll. That's all.
I was so intense in the boss fight, while my friend was not that busy. He took a shot of the last minute.

Is it possible to solo it?

Bard and Favoured Soul would be my guess, that's how I've heard it done with 2 before.

IMHO, this should be one of those things where you need 4 people to enter the dungeon.. Maybe make him a quest or something. And when you have the 4, the boss drops great exp and a much better loot table. It would encourage other players to do it together and especially because the loot would be better. Close some of those gaps between the epic geared and the ones trying to be epic geared.

You can encourage all you want this boss is a specialized boss. It takes very specialized groups to do. Without certain builds most groups not consisting of 20 PCs will die.IMHO, this should be one of those things where you need 4 people to enter the dungeon.. Maybe make him a quest or something. Re: Anyone tried to solo the Icedragon?
Indeed this particular dragon falls into the GREAT HUNT category where a small army of PCs has to take it on or die.
I do not mind this at all I just think the loot is a bit off the idea of dragon so old and powerful as this one is. It would have stockpiled enormous amounts of gold along with very powerful artifacts as old dragons are prone to doing and that being the key reason they are alive at such an age. Everything I read lorewise with these ancient wyrms says that they have things only a seasoned adventurer could dream of. It should not be beyond this dragon and the chests to regularly drop rods of resurrection, high level scrolls of all types (I.E. CL 30 scrolls), uber rare jewels, high arcana items items of +3 with possible multiple +3 stats or other goodies on them and the occasional just slightly better random drop of a truly epic item. By slightly better I mean like 1/100 ratio. So 1 out of every 100 battles against that wyrm would drop a epic item. Not that the NWN2 engine operates in such a manner but that was the best I could express the drop rate in my understanding. The RIG is incredibly fubar. Apparently every boss I fight is in the middle of dinner because they either have an empty tankard or a spoon on them........

Re: Anyone tried to solo the Icedragon?
Update:
For so far, we have killed him 3 times. The best item we got is +2 AC bard 6 spell slot boots. Most of the gears were + 1 scramble. We also died many times cause it is a tough and dangerous run.
Yeah, a cleric or a FS with a bard should be the best combo to deal with him.
But you need 3 specific gears which I recommended to overcome the large amount of the damage.
An EDM build should be the best melee to handle him (The best dmg build should be Paladin, but he is in short of the self-healing and immunity to critical which made him not good as a half-tank, half dps.)

Re: Anyone tried to solo the Icedragon?
Wouldn't it be great if the dragon had appropriate drops for an ancient wyrm? It would become a lot easier to convince people that attacking it is a good idea.
...maybe I struggle with that because Loris is a bit insane, and spends most of his time arguing with his own Programmed Images.

Re: Anyone tried to solo the Icedragon?
I was wondering how much AC did your tanks have when you confronted it.
Also I’m surprised to hear about the +20 regeneration. Where does a white dragon get that from ?
