Re: Athktatlan Triparite
posted to QC to see if anyone has an issue with removing the BAB requirement for SF and AT, or at least reducing the requirements to BAB 6 (SF) and 11 (AT). I can certainly understand how it would suck for a medium BAB build to have to spend an epic feat on AT because they don't hit BAB 16 by 18th level.

Re: Athktatlan Triparite
Thanks for the responses guys! Very helpful.
I agree that it makes sense to have a 16BAB requirement, as the feat doesnt do anything untill you have that.
Only thing that is scary about 16bab req is that its just late enough for you to get scared if you can even get the feat pre-epic levels

Thanks for discussing this with QC. Also here are some Athkathlan observations from JEGs.chad878262 wrote:posted to QC to see if anyone has an issue with removing the BAB requirement for SF and AT, or at least reducing the requirements to BAB 6 (SF) and 11 (AT). Re: Athktatlan Triparite
Why is it giving 5 dmg at BAB 19, when shouldn't it give 1 dmg / 1 AC at 16 BAB, and 3 dmg / 3 AC at 26 BAB?

Re: Athktatlan Triparite
my guess is some kind of a scripting/coding error. I will post to QC these findings. Thanks!

Yup, it's wrong for every BAB until you get your 6th attack. But I guess because the error is making it too strong no one is complaining.

Re: Athktatlan Triparite
"Too strong" compared to what it is supposed to be, yes.
But then again, picking it at lower BAB does absolutely nothing for you as you don't have the attacks pr round, so instead of saying "Too strong" you can say it actually makes it useable at lower bab, compared to just being useful when you reach the higher bab's and more attacks.
Just my thoughts anyway

Re: Athktatlan Triparite
With the buffs tied to BAB, Athkathlan benefits from Divine Power as you might expect. After increasing your BAB with Divine Power, turning on Athkathlan will increase your AC/Dmg based on the number of attacks from your enhanced BAB. Note, when Divine Power wears off you keep your enhanced Athkathlan buffs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Just curious if this is working as intended.
When I equipped an Amulet of Fire Resistance, I noticed Athkathlan automatically turned off. The deactivation on equip is obviously on purpose. In the case of the amulet, need to decide if I can live without the AC for a round. For things like equipping gloves to pick locks, it's just a minor inconvenience turning it back on every time. Was wondering if this is done to prevent exploits. Or is the deactivation of a style/mode intended to add realism to the game? Or something else perhaps?

This is based purely on BAB. With 26 BAB, you would keep your 2 highest attacks and lose your 4 lowest to gain a +8 AB. WIth Greater Flurry, this all stays the same. You gain +8 AB to your 2 hightest attacks PLUS the extra flurry attacks. I expect fighting with 2 weapons would work the same way.

Re: Athktatlan Triparite
Toggling Athkathlan will break stealth. Interestingly, if I want to turn off Athkathlan without breaking stealth I can use the weird equip item behavior from my previous post to do so.

Re: Athktatlan Triparite
Athkatlan is a little buggy in general.
playing a dervish with it. Whenever dervish dance ends athkatlan turns off. Thats usually not a problem since you just turn it on again.
But sometimes Athkatlan triparte bugs, and I cannot select it for hours (Untill I rest). That makes me run into problems once in a while... FX... A tough fight where i use dervish dance. If the area is a no-resting area I can only hope that Triparte will be available for selection afterwards, or I will be debuffing myself.
Still happy with the feat tho, just wish it was more smooth/seemless like Flurry of blows is.
Also getting encumbered also breaks Athkatlan at times.

Re: Athktatlan Triparite
Yup, seems there are many things that automatically turn Athkathlan off, some probably intentional and others not. Fortunately, this is just a minor inconvenience. I think there is some good news for you Toxen with your more troublesome cooldown issue. I believe this is common of many feats with a cooldown (Expose Weakness, Flourish etc). The problem occurs through the hotbar but can be worked around by right-clicking and selecting the feat from the dropdown. This only needs to be done once and fixes all your cooldowns.
This works for me 9/10 times.

Wow! Thats some extremely helpful advice/tips right there vbaddict! So thank you so much
Gonna test it next time it bugs for me.
And yes the other things were very minor inconveniences, and now that you have told how to fix the big one Ive got no complaints about the feat really

Curious if the hidden BAB prerequisite has been eased.
Or if it's being discussed, did anyone in QC have an issue with changing it?

Chad, anyone staff side point out issues with easing the prerequisite so that a medium BAB build can take Athkathlan at level 18?chad878262 wrote:posted to QC to see if anyone has an issue with removing the BAB requirement for SF and AT, or at least reducing the requirements to BAB 6 (SF) and 11 (AT).
