I actually agree with you, was just mentioning I don't see any way of changing it at this point in time on our server. Dev resources are limited and this would be a big job... I think it is honestly the type of position that would only be successful if implemented originally. Now it is not just a matter of all the players with characters bursting full of 'stealth' or 'spot' gear, it is about how the area's are built...Randall wrote:Yet, but in my opinion, it would make it less weird. I don't know if people like it or not to be carrying 'Stealth' gear, 'spot' gear, 'perform' gear and so on in their bags, and see rolls in the 90. I just know that personally, I always found it strange.
What is the skill cap for server? ?

Chad is probably right on this.
Anyways
I wouldn't mind seeing the skill cap lowered. Or for the cap to include stat mods towards the total of 50.
This would lessen the caster vs mundane gap. Would allow further gear options and perhaps put a bit of an end to some of the weirdness other players have stated. Such as carrying entire suits of gear for different things.
Why not adjust the cap from 50 to 40. Or make stats count toward that 50.

Re: What is the skill cap for server? ?
...i did the math several posts ago... and then went on to say my hin hits thats minus one feat and she is a rogue/SD/IB so has 0 caster levels and only needs two spells to cap out which she of course doesnt use normally because there is no need
her high static skill is 100% mundane and if she does use magic its probably for AC
so unless you meant mundane is higher than magic, then duh? there is way more gear than there are spells that give skill bonuses, but the highest single bonus is still from spells

McD, you missed Short Stature in your calculation, although the +4 bonus for being a gnome/halfling is not listed on the character sheet and is probably calculated as a secret bonus (or perhaps penalty to spot) when dealing with larger creatures.

yea i know, i skipped it bc its situational (and you never see it) but yea i suppose it would mean against bigger targets she would hit 101, which i guess would be able 90% of the server
