Re: PrC Master of Chains (!!!Work in Progress!!!)
- Tempest Whirlwind: The Tempest's skill with two weapons has improved to the point her whirlwind attack is a deadly dance of blades. This is an improved Whirlwind Attack that deals an additional 2d6 slashing damage on each attack made.
what do you think?Circling Death : The Master of Chains uses sheer strength to keep his chain circling, attacking any and all enemies that dare to enter the deadly maelstrom that are his chains.
Specifics: The Master of Chains uses an improved Whirlwind Attack that deals an additional 2d6 piercing damage on each attack made
edit: i was just posting that to show that as the tempest, the class doesnt need a prereq of WW or even a previous feat to WW to grant an improved WW. just grant them both at the same level.

All good I appreciate your help and was just joking as I so blatantly stole that
.
I think just giving the improved version straight at level 10 without any whirlwind beforehand further helps getting people to invest in all 10 levels instead of stopping at some point.

Hey Chad and Aaron can I have your final opinions on the PrC?
I'd like to send it in to QC and would like to know if I need to tweak it beforehand

I think the biggest issue is the weapon, or lack thereof. Probably requires one of our dev's to take an interest and seeing as the backlog that currently exists I wouldn't expect too much.

I'd try to assist them or if I can do it myself... Might take a while but I'd trychad878262 wrote:I think the biggest issue is the weapon, or lack thereof. Probably requires one of our dev's to take an interest and seeing as the backlog that currently exists I wouldn't expect too much.

You're welcome to it, just understand it is a slow process. A Dev would still want to check your work on the various files and QC would still do extensive testing so it would be a long wait either way. While updates are happening a lot over the past ~year+ there is still a large backlog that AoS, Valefort, Endelyon, Rasael, etc. are all working on and then you have QC before it ever goes live.

this is understandable. but the bladesinger didnt seem to take too very long to go live once it was on top of the que. it took a long time to get up on the que, but really seemed very fast to get in the game.chad878262 wrote:You're welcome to it, just understand it is a slow process. Re: PrC Master of Chains (!!!Work in Progress!!!)
Still took about four months and didn't include a weapon that is quite unique in comparison to those already available. That said many discussions had been held in the past with regard to Bladesinger over several years so much of the class had already gone through discussion and balancing so there was really only a couple of abilities we had to work through.
Conversely, this class is wholly new with some complex differences to what exists in game currently. Still, it is possible it might be far easier than I imagine, since I have no skill with coding or even 2da's. I'm just playing devils advocate since to me this seems like something that would take a lot of time to accomplish.

right. i am in the same boat with the coding. and yes, the bladesinger was discussed for a long time. 4 months to me is not long. i am fully vested in the orc Prc that is coming up, maybe just slightly less so than tantive was to the bladesinger. 4 months to see my baby. its like seeing christmas presents under the tree. waiting for the day i can open it.
yes vale i know i am not at the ~4 month countdown window yet as you have a couple things in front of it.

Re: PrC Master of Chains (!!!Work in Progress!!!)
Hehe, I began looking into things, the 2da stuff is the easy stuff it is just a ton of tables cross-referencing to one-another.
The first look at a script however makes hope crumble a bit... It seems there is quiet a bit of stuff hiding within them or in other places but yea I started looking into this yesterday night so I am still hoping to find my way into it
.
Honestly if I'd get the stuff done in the first place I'd already be very happy. If it then takes its time to be implemented I am fine with it
.
Then I can decide if I ever wanna do this again or rather enjoy the hard work of others while playing

We are working on the design of an Orc PRC so that should make you happy, but are not quite where we need to be for Valefort to actually start building it. No ETA so definitely don't start counting down!aaron22 wrote:right. i am in the same boat with the coding. and yes, the bladesinger was discussed for a long time. 4 months to me is not long. i am fully vested in the orc Prc that is coming up, maybe just slightly less so than tantive was to the bladesinger. 4 months to see my baby. its like seeing christmas presents under the tree. waiting for the day i can open it.

AWESOME is in the eye of the beholder, but IMO what Valefort has cooked up as a baseline is pretty cool. Just need to work out details.
