Does the alignment actually change IG when casting BM spells?

This is still written in the http://bgtscc.wikia.com/wiki/Blood_Magus description.
The first Blood Mage ability is a pin prick and not subject to KoS (ie you can't see it IC'ly). It's the level 6 ability, blood seeking spell you're thinking of. As I said, he only took to level 4 and thus his use of the ability is not VISIBLE, so no pvp consent.

The DM's have previously ruled and Blood Component is not PvP consent (other characters can't see it) while Blood Seeking Spell is.

Not sure if it is still the case, but used to be alignment would change toward Chaotic and Evil when using Blood Seeking Spell, Awaken Blood and Bloodwalk.

Boy am I glad that was taken out. You know, since blood magic isn't evil. It's like wearing highwaters. You can do it, but the fashion police will be all over you.

Or microwaving last night's fish dinner in the office... You can do it. But no one is going to like you for it.

Blood magic, you can do it, but you might get lynched, but it should never have been thought as "evil" mechanically. Even PnP has it that blood magus cannot be lawful, most are evil, but a lot are neutral and even a few "good" ones exist.

You can do blood walk on an innocent person, and not seen as being an evil act (mechanically speaking). All you are doing is using their body as a way to arriving at a location.

Now erupting in a "bloody mess", however, on the same innocent, a DM might give you an alignment hit towards the evil side of the house, as that is a little excessive and overkill.

You also have a few people who will metagame in character about "why are you bleeding" with a spot check of 85 or something crazy. But fact of the matter is, ICly they won't know, so they cannot act on that ooc information.

You can also go 10 blood magus, and never use blood seeking spell around others, and still reap the benefits of BM, without having that pesky paladin or crusader archetype hounding you about being "evil" when in fact you are Chaotic Neutral, or maybe even Chaotic or Neutral Good. We are snowflakes here after all.
