Progress:
Hidden: show
While located inside of the crypt, the adventurers are attacked by increasing numbers of skilled undead.

One of them falls, but they manage to grab their comrade and head to safety. By teleporting. Before they teleport away, adventuers notice a group of well-organized undead marching north.

Back at the safety of east farmlands campfire, they hurriedly discuss their options. One of them decides to investigate the situation separately, but they employ assistance of a friendly priest.

After discussion, they teleport to Soubar. They don't spend too much time inside the town, and instead immediately head out to ward themselves up. Outside, several of them spot suspicious group of masked crossbowmen standing near boarskyr bridge. The group watches them, expecting to be unseen.

One of adventurers confront them. With jokes , the brave adventurer approaches the group, and strikes up the conversation. The group is surpriised, and attempt estimate newcomer's strength. A tense dialogue follows. In the end, the crossbowmen leave, after having tossed a bottle of wine to the brave adventurers. The wine, however, was not a friendly gesture.

The group moves west, to trollclaws. The area as usual is full of trolls and looks barren, but the wind brings an unusual smelll to them - somewhere near shallow ford, there's smell of undeath and old and rusted weaponry. They head there.

There, they observe a medium sized group of undead crossing river and fighting trolls. A death knight, followed by archers. They dispatch trolls, cross the river, and while adventurers hurriedly discuss their strategies, they move towards them. One of the members of the group breaks off and approach undead. instead of attacking, the death knight speaks.
The grim knight engages in dialogue with the lone person, while another advneturers circles them around, unseen. The knight speaks of shackles of life, and glow seen from living things. The adventurer tries to mislead the knight, but it is to no avail. Finally the party decides to attack.

The knight grants their wish....

Yet the force of the undead ends up defeated. "Unfortunate" says the knight as he crumbles to dust.

The group finds a piece of paper the knight was studying and examines it. Then they attempt to find location from which the group came. For some time they walk around in circles, and offer newer and newer explanation.

But after all of this, they, once again, end up in fields of the dead.

Emerging from the pass leading out of troll claws, they find trail of destroyed bones and undead. Beyond it, they find a figure that doesn't speak... but nevertheless challenges them to combat.

The combat goes in figure's power, and the silent stranger leaves the area, slightly disappointed.

Description:
A small group of travellers is attacked by small pack of wolves and is forced to fight for their lives. They survive the attack, and decide to investigate the wolf pack...
Outcome:
The trail of wolves is lost. The adventurers discuss their next move.
Progress:
Hidden: show
Having survived the initial ambush, adventurers catch their breaths and look for the source of wolves. Some of them suggest nearby cave.

They prepare for combat with wards, and advance inside the cave.

Inside, however... they find perfectly normal wolves - and their pups - devouring their kill. The wolves spot the adventurers and growl in warning. The adventurers attempt to communicate and eventually back off, leaving the wolves be.

Outside of the cave they attempt to track down the group of wolves to location where the wolves originated from. They follow the trail all the way to the area where they started the journey - greenrest.

They attempt to speak with citizens of greenrest, and learn that indeed, large wolves were sighted often, but they circle the walls and do not bother the village, for some reason, even though they heard the rumors of them causing trouble in beregost.

Heading outside of the village, advneturers sit down and discuss what to do next.

Name: "A memory of a dream".
Type: Investigation/Encounter/Combat.
Description: Two adventurers, alerted by an elven ranger, investigate a strange glowing light phenomenon in the woods of sharpteeth, trying to discern its nature.
Outcome: The adventurers survive the encounter, and contemplate what to do with the information they acquired.

Progress:
Hidden: show
Two people are alerted by an eleven ranger who said a strange phenomenon that seems to be a portal appears in the woods of sharpteet. The ranger is looking for a powerful mage, and one of the adventurers is known to be one.

They head into the forst.

At the location they were given, there's indeed a glowing light shimmering in the air, resembling a portal. They attempt to investigate it, but it becomes clear that it is neither a portal nor a creature. As they proceed with their investigation, the phenomenon reacting to one of their spells, expanded and engulfed both of them.

The adventurers arrived in another location, that seemed to be some part of forest. A stone wall stood behind them, and fire was blazing nearby, despite heavy rain. They were able to determine that the area is an illusion. But even despite their disbelief the illusion did not go away.

They started walking forward, and were attacked by illusory nightmares - flaming horse-like outsider. They dispatched them. Even despite illusory nature, their attack hurt.

Beyond those awaited erinyes, which were quite easy to defeat.

Through the noise of falling rain they heard a sorrowful screeching of a grief-striken small creature. And then they saw it - a small animal, capable of casting magic.

This illusion took longer to defeat, and managed to wound one of the adventurers badly. Yet due to disbelieving the illusion, the adventurers did not perish.... and Small, but powerful illusory spellcaster fell.

As they moved forth, they found a collapsed wagon, scattered books, an unfinished portal arch, a magical labs.... few more items scattered about. And a dead body, lying near the wagon, on a bedroll. The old man, his hair fully gone gray, dead for several days with no single wounds.

Few notes and items were scattered about him. As the adventurers started to hastily study and copy the notes and the circles, illusion started to fade.

And eventually it was over - with them sanding where they started, in the wood of sharp teeth.

Name: Spiders vs Wolves.
Type: Action/Social.
Location: Outskirts of beregost (DM Map).

Description: Many miles below the surface, a group of drow discusses their hostile actions against surface city of beregost. Targeting farms surrounding the land, they prepare to move out.

Outcome: The group is back home, but victorious they were not. Something greater has interfered their plan, and only because of their wise priestess they managed to live through.

Progress:
Hidden: show
The drow discuss their plan and move out, taking the long way to the destination area.

They arrive at a distant farm, outside of beregost's wall... but something is not right. There aren't many people around, things are quiet.

In distance they see an injured man with a scythe. He is holding his side, and is breathing heavily. The group dives into the grass and watches him. As the farmer approaches, one of the drow grabs him from behind. The struggle doesn't help much, and for a while they hold the farmer still, studying his wounds.

They attempt to see if the farmer has something to speak, but the man decides not to go down without a fight. By some miracle he manages to break free from the grasp, and attacks the group with the scythe. Iti s for naught. He is quickly overwhelmed and killed.

The group quietly moves forward, and it becomes apparent that somebody got to the area first. The houses are empty, two bodies lie in the street, and farm animals are killed. One ofthem peek into a barn only to witness a gruesome scene within.

As they move around the village, one of them notices sound of ovement. Alerted, they ward up, and watch as a pack of strangely powerful wolves move through the village.

The wolves look around, initiate comabt and... prove to be too strong. Through smart actions, however, priestess of the group manages to survive and drag out few comrades out....
Only to meet a big shadowy beast with glowing eyes, that effortlessly spot her despite hiding attempts.

The beast, however, does not seem to be looking for a fight, and is willing to talk. Right words are chosen, and the arrogant creature lets the priestess go. The wolves disappear between the house.

The wolves devour everything they can in the area - dead horses, and few dead bodies, and move on. This takes some time. The area of attack becomes a grizzly scene - the ground is soaked with blood.

Hurrying up, remaining drow drags her remainign comrades out. By sheer luck they were not eaten. As she carries out the bodis at the end of the field and brings them back to life after another, amn soldiers move in to investigate the scene.

The Drow retreat. Not victorious, but alive.

A group of people departs on a patrol through the reaching goods. Few of them feel something odd in a nearby region, and the group decides to investigate.

They advance towards the area and in the end... they find a location that looks "sick", as if life was drained from it. The grass withers, there are bodies of dead small animals on the ground.

There are group of masked people standing near boulder, hiding. However, thanks to the keen sense, adventruers spot them immediately. They initiate the contact.

Slightly surprised, the group discusses situation with each other, and one of them steps forward to talke with the druids.

They agree to exchange information, in exchange for letting them go in peace. They speak of undead waiting ahead, one of them being intelligent and capable of speech. They say the undead are looking for something.

Once they're about to leave the druid tries to tempt them with gold in order to secure assistance. The group contemplates, and acceopts the offer. They move deeper into the woods, unseen, and encircle the group of undead, who are seemingly unaware of their presence.

In the middle of the group, there's a death knight standing. The knight walks towards the adventurers and starts talking. THe group, however, is not in the mood for speech and they attack.

With assistance of crossbowmen, the group is fairly easily dispatched. The crossbowmen gather their remaining payment and teleport away.

The adventurers remain and investigate a piece of paper the death knight was looking at.... there is some odd information in it.

The group proceeds foward, and finds few sickly wolves, that seems to have been starving.
They offer some meat to the wolves, which they grab, and then attempt to figure out what has happened to the area.

The wolves say that the area is out of food and that some other bigger pack ate everything.

After much contemplation, the group decides to move the wolves to another area.

They return back to their starting location to discuss events that transpired.

There a group of masked people is discussing something, exchanging short phrases in a language other than common.

The newcomers approach a group of tieflings and engage them in conversation. A long dialogue follows, mixed with veiled threats, trying to assert one's power, and many other things.

Along the way, another higher ranking fiendblood, in the same mask, approaches the group and asks what is going on there. The attention of the adventurers shifts to the newcomer and start talking to the newcomer instead.

A long verbal battle continues. But eventually both groups part ways.

Eventually the guard manage to stand up and speak. He speaks of a dark figure killing wolves outside. Then he limps towards shaman's tent to recover.

The orc adventurers decide to investigate the threat. They ward up and prepare to leave.

While outside they follow a short trail of guard's blood, and then they encounter an area covered with blood and pieces of slaughtered wolves. Large, powerful wolves.

There, a lone armored figure stands, staring at the carnage it inflicted and recently slain wolf.
It turns around to face the group, and does not speak, only studying them.

The orc adventurers attempt to communicate, but in vain. Eventually the figure tries to invite one of them to a duel.... but he backs off.

The figure looks over the group once more, shrugs, and walks away, disappearing in the distance.

The party decides not to seek conflict. Instead they attempt trade. And indeed they have few items that catch undead attention.

Name: The end of the worgs.
Location: Beregost
Type: Large scale, combat, interaction.

Description: A few people are celebrating in vicinity of candlekeep. The man in the group spots several mercenaries passing nearby, walking somewhere. He stops them to ask for details. It seems.... that beregost has finally decided to deal with the wolf threat that has been growing bigger and bigger in passing weeks. Apparently there are rewards, and they're large. The group decides to investigate, and joins larger grop of expectant adventurers awaiting news at the town...

Outcome: The wolf threat is over. They are no more. They left, willingly to a location from which they're unlikely to return. They were not defeated, but quick thinking and smart decision of a single adventurer turned losing battle into a victory for the Beregost. Although .... one could wonder whether the inhabitants of the area where the worgs arrived will be happy with this turn of events.

Progress:
Hidden: show
Heraing the rumor about large reward, the group that has been celebrating near candlekeep heads to beregost. They arrive in time to see the priest make an announcement.

The church of Lathander put together money and placed a bounty on a beast that leads the wolves. 70 thousands gold. There's more information about the wolves - it is known that their number is way over the hundred, and that they're led by some sort of shadowy beast with glowing eyes. The nature of the beast is unknown. The information was provided by a heavily wounded scout who went to investigate previously, on temple's request.

Some people ask questions, some whistle, thinking about the money, but eventually a group assembles and departs to the target area.... which is a burned down abandoned farm that is strangely far away from beregost.

The group arrives at hillside road and start moving through it.

They encounter undead who have recently defeated some mercenaries.... which seem to be the mercenaries people encountered before. The undead are composed of archers and crossbowmen with a knight as their leader. They undead seems to be willing to talk, and few phrases are exchanged, but that does not last long, and someone in the group attacks the undead, starting a fight. The undead are dispatched.

However, the noise alerted the wolves. And the group started fighting through hordes of incredibly powerful animals, with their numbers being seemingly endless.

Eventually, they approached location of the old farm - rather - a small path they almost missed, that was leading uphill.

The wolves went quiet... and it seemed that somebody was waiting for them uphill. Or something.

They went up, and they met the leader of the wolf pack - a large, demonic looking worg, wrapped into what seemed to be a shadowy aura, with glowing eyes. The worg spoke.
"Prey". It mocked the group and asked if they wished to attempt to fight him again, or run away in fear - again.

The discussion followed, and it seemed that the conlfict was inevitable. The beast was strangely confident in itself....

Yet...

Due to lucky turn of events, on adventurer spotted a weakness. Pride. The beast was prideful, and was sure of its own strength. So the adventurer utilized it.

The adventurer flattered the beast, who spoke a bit more about itself in return. And then when it turned out that tthis is a time for a fight.... the adventurer proposed a deal. Or asked if one is possible. And that made the worg creature think. The other worg that has been silently observing the situation, barked, and it seems that an idea was born.

The worg asked for richer hunting ground. And the adventurers thought of one - "The Beastlands". The land of a happy hunting. They offered a portal there. The beast was interested, and asked a gate to open. Then.. one smell of the target location was enough for it to be convined.

And the worg... agreed to leave.

The entire pack marched through the portal. Few worg puppies went through the portal among the first. One of the adventurers got an idea of disrupting the portal, and after the main worg went through it... tried to cast spell. However he was stopped and the portal continued to work.

And, once the last wolf passed through the portal, the remaining worg followed, and the portal closed.

And the pack of wolves led by a worg was no more.

The group returned to beregost, arguing whether their choice was right. There were disagreements. Still, inside the city they went to the templ to bring the news to the priest.

The priest refused to handle full reward due to adventurers not having a proof, and due to beast not being dead, but ... eventually he was convinced to give a partial one.

At least... beregost has one less problem now.

They, however, spot few odd figures walking about the soubar's market and checking merchant's stock. Something is off about them. They attempt to spy on the strange travelers, but as they keep discussing what to do, the figures leave soubar. Who they were and what this was about remains a mystery.

The group proceeds towards the pond (and one more joins them along the way).

The location, however, is empty. They look around, and ....something happens, and they lose consciousness. One of them manages to spot a smoke bomb thrown in front of them.

They wake up, elsewhere. A masked figure is standing in front of them, with a bodyguard next to it. The location is damp with water streaming allong the walls. They seem to be undergournd in some old ruin, which could be somewhere.

"Well, let's hear it!" The figure asks, and a meeting and discussion starts.

There are few questions, but no hostilities. And, eventually, an agreement is reached. The adventurers hand over a scroll, and are escorted out.

While the rangers bolster defenses and increase number of arches on the walls, a small group of adventurers assemble to look into the event. They spend some time contemplating course of action, and one of them attempt to use flying creature to scout the area. The creature is met with volley of arrows.

A bit hesitant, adventurers arrive in the area, and, indeed, there are few dozen armed undead, led by an undead knight that is, once again, looking for something.

While the adventurers contemplate what to do, the knight spot them and approach. Few words are exchanged, but today is not the way for diplomacy, and adventurers attack.

After a fierce fight, the undead are dispatched. Once again. With a sigh, undead kngiht crumbles to dust.
