Whatever the suggested improvement can be is problematic. Non-mechanical rewards amount to an achievment system, such are necessarily limited in number and can thus be completed entirely leading merely to a new boundary (unless we make open-ended ones, like your troll kill count

), it's harmless but won't solve the issue of continued development.
If it's a mechanical reward it will have a bound or will either be useless or overpowered, if it has a bound you merely pushed a boundary and people will eventually get there, if it's useless no one will care and if it's overpowered ... no need to develop that point

What do you think about the level ding idea. The bonus could be anything, a small enchant, a heal potion etc. I threw it out there because there seemed to more be resistance to ideas that may cause additional level grinding. This last proposal targets the feeling we get when we get the level up indication and all of the atta-boys from the folks we are talking to or teaming with. Agreed it could be too high of a coding challenge so it simply can't happen. But if it isn't, it may strike a middle ground in terms of usefulness. While it won't grant great or long lasting power it does say to the achiever, thank you for continuing to play your seasoned veterans. They bring wisdom and knowledge to new adventurers and are valued members of our online community.

So a small consumable reward for keeping killing stuff past 30 ?
Yeah it's harmless at least, being in such a situation myself I can't say I feel the need for it at all but maybe people would enjoy that.

If going toward items just change the RP XP to a trickle of gold at a rate of 1gp of the same RPXP rate and leave the item gained from it up to the player.
Less OOC, no power bump to godlike characters, etc.

That's actually not a bad idea. Even if the rate was 0.5 gold/1XP.

For me one thing that would really help would be some epic areas that really pushed epic parties to their limits. I mean even the white dragon is really just an exercise in endurance.
Maybe so Avernus like pls e that had pit fiends spawning like goblins or some black orc area with some of the stronger templates for those things (IIRC there were some super strong ones)... just really anything that felt like a my Uber geared out well played epic looting group might not survive would be fun.

Adding something like that would just be promoting powerbuilding, if you want challenge play something subpar.
