there are so many spot items out there and sneakers are already at a disadvantage(roll 20 meaning you can spot them if you have 19 less skill than their hide/ms). maybe because they dont want to invest their skill and want to focus on empowering their own class?
There is one build that gets really screwed in the hide/ms vs spot/listen arms race..

For me it's not so much that they HAVE HiPS, it's the dipping into classes to GET it even though it makes no RP sense. Or in this case, makes the class FAR more ubiquitous than it should be.
IMO, certain classes should absolutely be RP restricted in some way so they can't be casually taken for Feats like this.

Is there another subset of characters you would like to see ? Or race specific statistics for one of those 2 subsets as I have those around as well.
It would be interesting to see actual build combos. I’d assume that there are very few single class builds in general and especially above 210,000 xp.
These data sets are very interesting and very telling of how players choose their game style (majority/minority) and how even the design of the Server “pushes” Players to adopt certain, prevalent combos in order to reach feasibility against mobs, Areas, etc.

Nothing against sneakers. I don't personally dislike HIPS either. I've used it in the past.
Doesn't mean I can't recognize there being an issue, where some builds, due to limited skill points and/or lack of spot and listen as class skills, are at the mercy of a mechanic, which is essentially a get-out-of-jail-free-card every 6 seconds. It's never any fun, except for the sneaker, when you can't fight back in any meaningful way. That's PvP though. Although I don't think I've ever heard anyone really care too much about the PvE usages of HIPS. Can a HIPS'er solo the Balor? Doubtful. So nobody cares.

HiPS is a broken ability, as in there is a bug that was never corrected. Maybe at one point that bug was necessary for the feat to work properly, but you would figure almost 20 years later someone would come up with a solution. Sadly, the Feat is also coded into the engine's detection scripts, so in the end there is no way to fix it without digging in the source code.
