To the order of the Radiant Heart,

I am Epictetus De'wish one of the elves of Doron Amar ....A favored Soul of the Lady of strategy ...the Redknight. After spending some time in the land .....I can find no other orders as distinguished and honorable as this. In my pursuit of Enlightenment through divine service ...I can find no other calling as that of a defender of the lawful peoples of this land . It is in this capacity I wish to remain ever a servant of law. I seek to join the ranks of your great order . I am currently at 12 seasons of study. I am of noble birth but my house is far across the sea and my ancestors have no history in these lands. So I present myself as I am ...I await your reply ...

Aye, me brethren in Clan Ironfaar are in need of me skills, so I will have to renounce my application to join the ranks of the Radiant Heart.

I hope there be no ill will between us, and it be my desire that should God be willing that we may work together for the fight for truth.

With paladin Arkaine away traveling, it has fallen to Sir Jonas to lead the Baldur's Gate chapter of the Order in his absence. Jonas has formed a small council of the highest ranking knights and proceeded to set an agenda that includes helping the N.T.E. with the Naskhel iron mines and taking on the undead legions of the Fields of the Dead in order to aid travelers to and from the north.

One of their more recent exploits was taking on the minions of a demonologist in the Graypeak mountains. While helping the church of Helm, several members of the Order including Sir Jonas, Thiago, Aethor, Crassus, Veretius, and John Roland journeyed to the demonologist's lair and fought many demons and undead abominations, though the unnamed summoner himself evaded them. Nevertheless, the mission was a success and the Helmites were very pleased with the end result.

Much of Sir Jonas' time as of late has been taken up helping the elves of Doron Amar rebuild their home, both with advice and physical labor as well as acting as an ambassador between them and the Dukes and also the Merchant's League.

Paladin Telissa Carshald of Lathander has left the Order of the Morning Sun and joined the Order of the Radiant Heart, finding it a better fit for her ideals.

Word travels fast that Aethor's time of trial to step up to the higher rank of knights, the Radiant Knights, is upon him. The silver-eyed aasimar is preparing himself to join the elite of the Order.

To the radiant heart,

It has come to my knowledge that the order ..can not accept anyone who is already aligned with any group. So I humbly acknowledge this and thank the order. We elves of Doron Amar are ever laboring to earn our place among the lawful cultures of this land . To this end we look with great hope.

Being the Squire to the Knight Commander of the Order of the Radiant Heart has its entitlements, so when Sir Rokranon invited her to join him to observe an exclusive meeting between the members of the Doron Amar, Madison gladly accepted the offer. Walking up to the meeting area outside of Gullykin, Madison recognized several of the elves, and greeted them with a smile. She sort of felt awkward, as an outsider and all, but she maintained her social grace, and waited patiently to see what was about to commence. Of course she had heard of the troubles within and without the Doron Amar which had plagued those good folk, word of plans to build a new home, and that Sir Rokranon had pledged the Order's services to them for certain needs. "Perhaps that is what this is about", she considered.

Just about the time she was growing impatient, an incredibly shrill howl could be heard from outside of the Hin village. She was most certainly the last to respond to the howl, and the last to see shadowy forms flooding into view, as the keen senses of the elves and their hairpin reflexes out match hers.

Sir Rokranon, belted out, "Commander, what say you? What do you wish for us to do?"
"
Fan out into the village! We must protect the Hins!", Siomir (SP?) shouted in response.

The young Squire, immediately followed Jonas, to take stock of the situation. The site was frightful, but Torm blesses his Paladins with an unshakable resolve...she sees Dire wolves, werewolves, and all manner of canine beasts leaping into Gullykin, surprising some unfortunate hins. Jonas and Madison draw their mighty swords, and blast out a traditional Tormite War Cry. They manage to cleave there way to protect some merchants allowing them to duck into their homes.

"Everyone who is unable to fight...get into your homes...NOW!", she hears her commander shout.

Wave after wave of the ravenous, relentless monsters would tear into the village. During a moment of calm the Doron Amar leader ordered the more experienced men to follow him. They were to make it their mission to find and enact justice on the source of the trouble.

"Madison, stay here and guard the gates to the village...we need to move forward, but cannot leave Gullykin undefended", Jonas orderd.

"Aye!"

Her Greatsword, "Draconic Justice" lived up to its name as it bit and tore into the evil flesh of the blackest and most vile of worgs. When exhaustion had taken its toll on the warriors, and several of the mages spells were spent, it seemed the resolve of the vile creatures was strengthened. A younger elf, Enthor, shouted out words of encouragement that helped give Madison the second wind she so desperately needed.

"Aye!, for Torm, for Gullykin, for the fallen!", she shouted. A last wave of black worgs and werewolves charged the gates, archers' marks were true as they would find there mark right into the throats...one, Madison swung at as it charged. She hit air, as it fell at her feet making a guttural sound. An elven marksman was true with his aim, she felt grateful for their ability and focus in the art of the bow.

A trumpet blast! The remaining wolves scurried off in all directions. The smell of blood everywhere, a strange calm, and silence. Wonder came over the battlefield...what was the trumpet blast? Sir Jonas Rokranon and company making their way to the gates was a site the defenders of Gullykin will never forget, and that Madison will forever be grateful.

"Sir Rokranon! We had a difficult time of it, but we still stand...and Gullykin too. How did you fare?", she looked with hope and wonder.

"We were successful", he responded.

Thanks to her knowledge in tactics, the valiant efforts of the elves, in particular an experienced and noble elf priest Epictetus, and Dajala, a more experienced mage, they were able to withstand the sea of dark wolves that would not relent.

Madison files an official report of her recent activities for a status report to Jonas and the knights of the Order of the Radiant Heart which include

-Securing safe travel, offering healing, and even paying the fee to have adventurers raised in temples when needed without repay.

-ensuring the safety of Gullykin from further attack by patrolling area for Werewolves and other violent beasts, as well as looking for signs of any new Alphas, depending on the aid of friendly Rangers and Druids.

-maintaining relations with the elves of Doron Amar, meeting new members and building friendships

-Keeping an eye out for worthy recruits, though there are few or few make themselves known. ///any Paladins or LG clerics/Favored Souls of Torm, Helm, Lathander, etc. that are willing to swear to the Paladin's code can be a member, and honest (not necessarily perfect) attempts at RP and IC post here requesting to be members///

Radiant Heart,

Addressed to the Commanding Officer,

They say a man can escape many things in his life, He may so choose to walk left or right, forward or turn back. What one cannot do is to run from who He is. The past molds and shapes a man, I being no different than anyone else. I am not proud of all I have done, and in membrance I have made plenty of mistakes that I do now regret.

But such is my burden, and while that shadow may weigh heavily on me, I can't escape who I am, and what I must do.

I was formerly a knight-in-training of the Champions Vigilant, discharged without honor. The details are yours, should you wish, but I shall only convey them in a private loaction, and face to face.

The reason for which I write is so to join your ranks as auxiliary. Should I not be deemed worthy, then we shall take different paths, with no ill thoughts or wishes from my part.

Should you accept me, then my life becomes yours,

With my deepest respects,

Sebastien, formerly aspiring Champion Vigilant,
Now known simply as John.
Forever thankful and amazed at all the hard work of DMs, developers and staff that kept running and improving the server over the years.

Jonas settles down to his desk at the temple of Torm with a mountain of paperwork waiting for him. He reads report after report for a time, until coming to the letter from John. Curious, he reads through, and pens a response after thinking on its contents.

John,
I know well of the paths you speak of, and agree that one cannot escape who they are. I am curious as to your situation, and am willing to meet to discuss your past and future. I will stress that the Radiant Heart is a very prestigious Order, comprised of the most dedicated of folk, but if your past burdens are atone-able we would be willing to give you the chance to set things right.

I can try to meet you at your convenience, or you are welcome to seek me out. Most of the Flaming Fist and many people of our fair city of Baldur's Gate and the surrounding lands know of me, and can point you in the right direction.

Sincerely,
Sir Jonas Rokranon
Knight Commander of the Order of the Radiant Heart

Sir Jonas Rokranon, Exarch Elias Goodmane, and Guardian Ivaris Alomane, after a chance meeting at Candlekeep, decided to visit the new elven home of Doron Amar together as neither Elias or Ivaris had been yet. Their peaceful day, however, would not last long. The trio had barely turned off the Lion's Way onto the Trade Way before a large group of bandits and cutthroats fell upon them. While checking their pockets, Ivarna happened by and a conversation had hardly begun before an unnatural darkness formed, and a large group of Shades poured out of it, attacking the adventurers.

Caught unaware, Ivarna, Ivaris, and Elias finally fell to the dark forces despite fighting valiantly, and Jonas himself barely survived - calling upon many of his gifts from Torm and throwing down potion after potion of Heal before finally defeating the last. The aasimar paladin wasted no time reviving the others, but they were still recovering when another darkness formed and another group set upon them. Quickly throwing up wards, the small group once again fought, and this time fared better. An unnatural chill and fell stink of decay descended up on the land nearby. Curious as to what in the Nine Hells was going on, their questions were answered in short order as a spectral mage of some kind came upon them, promising death and worse to any who help Merielle of Ilmater, and suggesting that a darkness would descend upon the land if Meri's soul was not delivered to Bhaal. Unimpressed, all three men denied the spectre and it summoned death knights to attack the three friends.

Victorious in the end, Elias was surprised at his first encounter with Bhaal's forces, and Ivaris questioning of what next. Jonas replied that the Loyal Fury would never bow to the Lord of Murder, and they would not have Meri.

"I am her guardian. As a Tormite it is my duty to protect her, and as a friend, my honor."

All three men continued on and found other adventurers who had encountered nothing strange, so they journeyed into the Wood, wherein they were assaulted by a large orc war party as they journeyed deeper into the wood. Mostly normal orcs and orogs, Jonas was just glad not to see any of the ridiculously powerful elite orcs of the deeper warbands. As a result the orcs were destroyed with little harm to either Elias, Ivaris, or Jonas. They came upon Misti and Siomir after the fight, and finally made it to Doron Amar to rest after scouting the Wood a bit more for any straggling orcs.

To the Radiant Heart Council
Addressed to Sir Jonas Rokranon
Sir Jonas Rokranon, paladin of Torm, Radiant Knight of the moust noble order of the Radiant Heart, Noble of Baldur´s Gate

We have met many times on the roads. My name is Thiago, the second, paladin of Tyr. I am the first and only son of Thiago, one of your knights. Since I was a child I was raised to be a paladin. I chose by myself the path of justice and fighting under the dogma of Tyr with all my strength and spirit.

For these reasons I consider myself ready to join the order and increase my duty to justice and goodwill. I wish to put my sword at your service and be part of a greater journey. I see no reason to walk my path alone since there are so many who walk on the same road as I do.
If you accept me within your ranks I shall honor the name of this order and the name that I share with my father.

Respectfully
Thiago the Second. Palaind of Tyr
Chars:

Thiago, Paladin of Helm. Radiant Knight of the Order of the Radiant Heart.

Thiago II, Paladin of Tyr. Knight of the Radiant Heart. Son of Thiago.

Jonas smiles upon receiving the letter from young Thiago, and sets to writing an immediate response.

Thiago,
In truth, I have been awaiting this letter ever since first meeting you and your father. Aethor, your father, and myself have spoken and feel you will be a promising addition to our ranks, and as such you are being placed under Aethor as a squire. Report to him when you feel you are fully prepared to begin the path to a life in the Order of the Radiant Heart. Torm protect you, young Thiago, and welcome to our ranks. In time I have no doubt you will become one of the premier knights of our Order.

Sincerely,
Sir Jonas Rokranon
Radiant Knight Commander

Citing personal issues, Sir Jonas Rokranon has stepped down temporarily as leader of the local chapter of the Order of the Radiant Heart. It is said he has left command to knights Aethor and Thiago. Jonas himself is focused on protecting Saint Merielle of Ilmater, and using the time to mull things over.

Some attribute his strange and angry behavior as of late to whatever these 'personal issues' are.

An letter is received at the Temple of Torm addressed to Aethor. In a flowing script, the following message:

Dear Aethor,

Belisarius Durendal of Cormyr bids you best regards. I respectfully submit my petition to join the Order of the Radiant Heart. I have been in Baldur's Gate for several months now, after arriving from Iriaebor on a merchant vessel, serving as escort for the goods aboard.

Since arriving, I have tried to serve where and when able, often patrolling the Trade Way to keep the caravan roads to Beregost and the South open for travellers. However, I feel there are greater services I can render, and wish to do so for the good of the Order.

I await your reply. May Peace favor your sword.

~Belisarius, devoted of Torm

Aethor read the letter carefully. Giving a small smile he sits down and grabs a quill and a piece of parchment. In it he writes...

"Dear Mister Durendal of Cormyr,

I have read your letter and have decided that you may indeed join our circle of paladins. Now, let it be known that you will be on a trial period before we will award you with the title of squire. I hope that your presence will strengthen our circle and strike fear into the hearts of evil. Welcome to the Radiant Heart.

-Sincerely,
Sir Aethor Siger, Radiant Knight"

Aethor then smiles and gives the letter to a courier, who will swiftly find Belisarius of Cormyr.
