For dungeons without mechanical reward, RP/IC reasons is the only reason I'd bother to go there.

DM Event, or Derik is "teaching" a lower level who is needing XP or whatever, or if there was a story that required a certain number of unique PCs to interact with a particular NPC at the end of a dungeon to solve a "situation' like storyline banditry.

If there's no mechanical point, and no RP point, I'll go do something else.

Reasons I would enter said dungeon:
1)I find a treasure map that leads me to the dungeon.
2)My home was about to be forclosed on and I had but one chance to find treasure to save it.
3)The Fratellis chases me into the dungeon
4)I needed to solve the legend/mystery of One Eyed Willie
5) To save my friends (with the help of my buddy Sloth).

Likewise. As I mentioned in the other thread, I will count "this character has never been here before and really feels like exploring" as a valid RP reason to go somewhere (a lot of Virin and Rinn's adventures boiled down to this, taking a few close friends to do something new), but this will only take them so far.
