Location 29 - Radiant Bridge, South Shore, West of the road
Now the western side of the Greenest Road on the south shore of the Radiant Bridge

Location 3 out of 5
Whilst still close to the bridge, you're more exposed to orcs.

Catches 5 out of 5
The Chionthar river is very rich in fish.

Problems 2 out of 5
You're closer to the orc patrols

Total Score 10 out of 15
Good but very risky fishing

Location 30 - Chionthar River - Smugglers Bank
Further along the south shore lies the less disturbed banks of the river.

Location 2 out of 5
You have to move out of the Radiant Bridge's safe zone to fish here.

Catches 3 out of 5
The Chionthar river is very rich in fish, but the steep banks here make it difficult to reel in fish.

Problems 2 out of 5
You're closer to the orc patrols, outside of the safe zone and will have to deal with whatever smugglers don't want the attention

Total Score 7 out of 15
Not worth the constant attempts at backstabbing

Location 31 - Radiant Bridge north shore - east road.
Crossing the bridge gives access to safer fishing spots

Location 4 out of 5
Whilst safer, the only spots to fish are close to the road, which is often covered in puddles so expect to be splashed with mud often.

Catches 5 out of 5
The Chionthar river is very rich in fish

Problems 2 out of 5
If you can put up with the costant splashes of mud, and having to wade out to assist anyone using the ferry to cross, than it might be viable. The slow sink into the soft river banks might say otherwise to good fishinh.

Total Score 11 out of 15
If the banks could be reinforced it might be worth it for fishing, that spot owes me a new pair of socks lost to that thick mud.

Location 32 - Radiant Bridge docks
The might of the Radiant Bridge has a small dock that can be fished off.

Location 4 out of 5
Generally safe and even a bench to sit on, the only downside of this place is the lack of a shop to sell off your catches. I think the guards are not allowed to accept gifts from strange folks.

Catches
5 out of 5
The Chionthar river is very rich in fish, and the safety of the dock makes it easy to reel them in.

Problems 4 out of 5
Good fishing, just check with the Bridge captain so you're not attempting to fish when they get a delivery by boat. The guards don't want "strange" folk getting in the way.

Total Score 13 out of 15
One of the best and safe places to fish along the Chionthar

Location 33 - Radiant Bridge North Shore - Baldur's Gate Road
The road from Radiant Bridge to Baldur's Gate often follows the river banks, meaning access to fishing

Location 3 out of 5
You have to move out of the Radiant Bridge's safe zone to fish here, and the roads aren't always patrolled.

Catches 5 out of 5
The Chionthar river is very rich in fish, notice a trend?

Problems 3 out of 5
You're away from safety and on the wrong bank from orcs... but you still have to deal with snakes and worse BEARS!!!

Total Score 11 out of 15
Nice fishing, but losing your catch net to so many bears.

Location 34 - Chionthar River - Super Secret Catfish Corner
There is a bizarre section of the river where you'll only find Catfish

Location 4 out of 5
A perfect bank and shelter from bears and snakes, means it's a good place to practice for one species.

Catches 1 out of 5 if you hate catfish 5 out of 5 if you do
This weird spot along the river just seems to be swarming with catfish.

Problems 4 out of 5
There are only two problems with this spot... it's a distance from any merchant to buy those catfish, and is catfish any good anyway?

Total Score 13 out of 15 if you like catfish - 9 if you hate them
It's just a weird spot where the catfish swarm, I'll give you a clue to where it is, it's between two white trees.

Location 35 - Chionthar River - East of Wyrm's Crossing
There is a bizarre section of the river where you'll only find Catfish

Location 3 out of 5
The bank is stable for fishing but you are really out in the sticks between Wyrm's Crossing and Radiant Crossing

Catches 4 out of 5
You're in prime fishing estate between the Radiant Crossing and Wyrm's crossing

Problems 2 out of 5
Due to being out in the sticks, you'll have to deal with the wildlife out to nab an easy meal from your fishing, not to mention there's a goblin nest somewhere, and whatver made the place have snow in June

Total Score 9 out of 15
I don't know if it's wild magic, the goblins or just someone enchanting the place, it just feels odd, good fishing, just problematic

Location 36 - Chionthar River, east of Wyrm's Gate - Spooky Cottage
Not far from the river bank is what appears to be an abandoned cottage with it's own fish pond. Not sure if there used to be a tunnel under the river to allow boat access or something

Location 4 out of 5
The bridge over the fish pond does make it a bit more defensive than the open bank, though the abandoned cottage does give me the heebie jeebies.

Catches 4 out of 5
There does seem to be some fish accessible routes between the pond and river so plenty of fishing. Must be some drainage since that water fall feeds right into the pond. If the drainage was blocked, by my reckoning that cottage should be under water by now/

Problems 3 out of 5
You're out in the sticks in some really creepy areas, and creepy critters,

Total Score 11 out of 15
Bit safer and defensible compared to the river bank, but it puts you closer to that heebie jeebie cottage.

Location 37 - Road to Ulgoth's Beard
Following the river from the North Farm lands leads you to the path way to Ulgoth's Beard the possible fishing sites down river from Baldur's Gate

Location 3 out of 5
You are some distance from Baldur's Gate and somewhat isolated from the stores. There does appear to be a heightened presence of Flaming Fist mercs and such

Catches 1 out of 5
For some reason I can't get a grasp on why the fish weren't biting, maybe something to do with the Flaming Fists, or whatever closed off Ulgoth's Beard

Problems
3 out of 5
Well you got bugs, guards, and whatever happened at Ulgoth's

Total Score 7 out of 15
Doubt there's gonna be much good fishing here since whatever happened to Ulgoth's Beard is cleaned up, the Guards are very hush hush about what happened there, don't wanna get stuck in "quarenteen"... whatever that is

Location 37 - Island off Ulgoth's Beard
Chatting with the guards on the road block, they did mention a few fishing spots, supposedly on a island outside of the Kwarenteen of Ulgoth's Beard that supposedly has a lot of fish

Location 2 out of 5
Well... you're on an isle in the middle of the estuary and the main way to get here is by rowboat and paying fees to get here.

Catches 2 out of 5
Well the isle does have fish... they're all Sahawawaguin Shahahagin Freaky fish people Sahaguin and giant crabs, good if you like crab meat... not so much for fish

Problems 2 out of 5
Giant crabs, freaky fish, giant anchors and you need to pay for a rowboat to get to and from.

Total Score 6 out of 15
Those Blooming smegging guards of the Flaming Fist must have set me up, not worth it, unless you're after bilberries and crab meat.

Location 38 - Candlekeep South Beach - Secret Campfire
To make up for that prank, the Flaming Fist guards (maybe a bit shocked when I brought out those freaky fish tails, when I got off the rowboat), decided to give me a a bit of info, they'd overheard of a drinking and fishing spot the Bladestone guys used south of Candlekeep, not the dock, but somewhere a bit more private.

Location 4 out of 5
Still some distance from the tradeway, but it's a nice quiet place, with a well used and stocked campfire and such so good for a quiet bit of fishing, just gotta watch out for when the Bladestone guys come down for their fish and chat evenings.

Catches 5 out of 5
Good salt water fishing, and a good spot for sheltered species.

Problems
4 out of 5
Well, other than the bugs and beetles getting here, it's even quieter and than the docks, though it might be occupied with the Bladestone Guards on their evenings off.

Total Score
13 out of 15
Nice little beach camp fire site with some protection from the rains and winds with the docks.

Location 39 - Eastern Cloakwood
Time to pull up my britches and explore the Cloak Wood for fishing spots, thankfully I'm somewhat sneaky enough to get round most things, so let's start with the Eastern borders of the Cloakwood

Location 2 out of 5
The stream in the eastern Cloakwood isn't too far past watch towers that mark the outer boundary, not far from the Friendly Arms inn

Catches 1 out of 5
Well the stream, it's hardly worthy of the name, is barely deep enough to get my feet wet, let alone any of the bigger folks about. So all you'll likely to catch are minnows and sticklebacks if there's any left.

Problems 2 out of 5
Lousy fishing and the goblin tribe known as the Tasloi I think inhabit the area and possibly a local mine maybe.

Total Score 5 out of 15
It's a place of tiddlers, maybe better luck further in.

Re: Sordoc's Guide to fishing spots

Location 40 - Central Cloak Wood
Well venturing further in to the Cloak wood and following the tiddler of a stream, it does grow bigger around a spot of slopes and possible caves

Location 2 out of 5
Well the hills, trees and slopes make venturing in further a bit of a pain, not to mention all the spider webs, would have thought they'd have gotten cleaned up after a while.

Catches 1 out of 5
Minnows and sticklebacks, all the steep waterfalls seem to prevent fish getting upstream, tried a few spots around the waterfalls, but even the abandoned camp seemed to be a bust on fishing.

Problems 2 out of 5
Well now I know why there's so many webs about, the spiders in this area grow extremely large, bigger than myself, and they have herders for some reason that probably want people away from the area.

Total Score 5 out of 15
Another bust of a fishing spot, with all the spider herders around and massive attercops and such, maybe follow the stream to the coast.

Location 41 - North Western Cloak woods
Well following the stream was a bust, too much undergrowth and overgrowth, but at least there's maybe a badger trail north so, maybe fishing there

Location 1 out of 5
The amount of Brambles and such you have to wade through to get here is significant and the cliffs.

Catches
0 out of 5
Don't even try... You're gonna be standing on cliffs at least 50 yards high so, that's most short and medium reels out, also more things for your line to snag on and loose, not to mention the seagulls after any fish you can real in.

Problems
2 out of 5
Add to the distance and cliffs, something has stirred up the tree herders, so if you're unwise enough to attempt to fight them, well you've got a few miles of trees to fight, and Tree herders are patient.

Total Score 3 out of 15
Tree herders, no fires, and some really suspicious buildings on that cliff side, I mean who builds a fancy house, but have no road nor dock to get there easier.

Location 42 - The Western Sharptooth woods
Well time to explore the deeper woods around the Baldurian area, starting from The Friendly Arms Inn and heading east into the western end of The Sharktooth Woods.

Location
3 out of 5
Not too far from the watch towers that mark the edge of the Friendly Arms inn, so quick for safety and selling.

Catches 1 out of 5
Of the two ponds in the vicinity of the only real landmark of the Western half of the Sharptooth woods are somewhat tainted by being used by the local orc tribe for bathing and drinking. Not worth fishing, but there are weirdos who might be after the water.

Problems 3 out of 5
Well the only landmark of the western end of the woodlands is smack bang in the middle of the local tribe of orcs.

Total Score 7 out of 15
Unless someone is after orcish bathwater, best to avoid the area.
