I have made an official post in the Guilds forum for the Temple of Lolth (has some good information on ranks and the like too!),
I will be working in the coming months to make the sturdy foundations for a Temple of Lolth, which all Clerics of Lolth/Lolthites should try to get involved in! Also all the Noble Houses (which are Lolthite) should maintain close relations! The temple will also serve as the Arach-Tinilith (School of Lolth) where are all Noble Houses will want to send their Clerics to be trained.
Hopefully this will create some fun (not out of hand!) conflict RP between the Lolthite community and heretics (and those Wizards who along with the Conclave who assert their control over Sshamath!).
The base of operations for the faction will of course be at
The Web of the Spider Queen. Hopefully (maybe?) sometime in the future a small temple structure will even be constructed for the faction/Lolth worshippers. Since according to lore, The Web of the Spider Queen is a district, with a large temple complex that has stood for generations (including when the Lolthites ruled Sshamath).
PLEASE PM me if you would to get involved/have any questions. We don't need just Clerics! Those who want to play a Dread Fang (Rogue-type/Assassin/etc...), or a Drow Judicator (Warrior or BG-type) are most needed as well!

It would be great to have some Loth representation , i know Sshamath is different then most drow communities one might come across in literature , but still would be a great asset , and bring more RP depth to the city of dark weaves to have some lothist , in any case good luck with it , i hope you get some player support for this .
Just bare in mind this aint Menzoberranzan , not evry jaluk and roth will be submissive to a loth faction * states the obvious*
anyway good luck

Judging by the date on the most recent post, this list might be a bit stale. For those of us looking to join up with a UD organization, would any kind Sshamath residents (should such a thing exist

) mind relaying relevant changes or updates, contacts even?
EDIT: Rather, is there any news since the July update
here ?

There are several UD guilds active, some more secretive than others, and also UD factions of surface guilds.
*7th circle is (automatic?) by application, as you've already posted in the factions page
*The Temple of Lolth is active, I'd advise finding someone at the temple if that's your poison
*The Baleful Maw was active till a few weeks ago when their leader was extradited from Sshamath, I presume they are still active but in a slightly different context, though asking around the city may bring you trouble so be sly about it
*Bregan D'aerthe 'may' contact you, if you fit their needs
*The Charnag is no longer DM supported but there are a few players still around
*The various Mage Schools I have seen posts suggesting activity but I'm unsure in what context
*Also there are active Greyfang's as an UD faction of the surface guild
and likely more that I'm not aware of

Hey, are there any active UD guilds right now. Just curious?

UD guilds that are actually running around in the UD? I'd say none exist atm. I could be wrong though. There are some super secret organizations out there.

active probably requires a definition, however...
- The seventh circle is (potentially) active
- The Temple is..not? officially active?
- The Maw is disbanded
- Bregan D'aerthe is active (insert definition here)
- The Charnag is not active
- No Mage schools are active
- A Greyfang still delves the deeps but in little context
- There are rumours of Elistraee's worship in the city

Eilistraee worship is dying down somewhat for the time being, and not very open for conversation with anyone at the moment. Not gone, but not as active as we have been up till now. Will start up again once the situation stabilizes. We hope.

While the official player faction is no longer running, DM Asgorath has been running some events around the Lolthite church so the Lolthites are still active, in a way.

roke42 and Servin are the most active, and influential Lolthlite players active. . . and Storm Munin's Lolthlite characters are on from time to time and highly stationed. So the Temple is indeed very active, even without DM help.

The Temple was officially put on hold early this year.
Currently some of the guildmembers are involved in things..
Some fresh blood has made themselves known.
As much as this current activity overjoys me I do not think it is yet time to reopen the guild.
The future will tell, but if you do play a devotee of Lolth or Selvetarm it would mostly prove beneficial to contact fahliell Xercia (servin), Yathrin Valaklith (roke42) or Yath'alar Lilith (me).
For now... the brood stirs... where will chaos strike and who will emerge alive?
Welcome to chaos.
As for the other guilds and factions currently, as known by me 2013-12-26:
7th circle has some mobile toons, but not much ado.
Bregan, looks the same from the outside.
Mage school, hasnt been alive since 2011 that I know.
Baleful Maw, seems disbanded even if Shur made a brief comeback this fall.
Charnag, discontinued around 2011 I believe (some active toon from time to time)
House Mori'hyenda, a lonely active toon from time to time.
Crimson something, tried this fall but didnt lift.
Current active factions:
Lolthites
Eilistraeeans
/M

Coven of Darkness has a few UD members, although their activity down there is not visible or not that much from what I know. Perhaps more will araise, once again the UD is more populated.

Hi there,
Myelf and at least one other, possibly more are thinking about coming back here and giving the UD a go.
Are there active DMs these days? How many active players are there in the Lolthite and Eilistraean factions?
Also if we played dark elves would we start as commoners or be associated with a house?
Final unrelated question - how would a favoured soul of Lolth be perceived (someone is interested in playing one) - presumably they don't need to be 'active' worshippers but i presume they would be picked up quite early on by Lolthite clerics?
Cheers,
Kas

The lolthite faction is extremely active for the time being, but whether it is due to some sort of rebirth of the UD or me running a long-termed campaign remains to be seen. If you want to give the spider kissing family a go, pm Storm Munin since he's the main man you want to talk to.
There is also Bregan d'Aerthe which is looking for new fresh blood, if you want to join Jarlaxle's company, I'd recommend you to talk to Illithid.
Not much else in the way of active UD guilds otherwise.
