Rumor spreads that Rente of Ilmater has been seen in bars and taverns, drinking himself quite drunk. Some say he slapped a woman in Beregost openly on the street. Those that know him that see him dragging himself along the street notice he is not wearing a coat of arms on his shield, and is not wearing his spurs.

By the side of the road drinking one morning with a talentless minstrel troupe, Emily Stone is informed that a "powerful and spooky" moon elf wizard is searching for her. The word "Istarion" is idly mentioned, to the puzzlement of all assembled. "Oh?" said Emily, and then: "Well, moon elves are no cousins to me." When told that, in fact, moon elves and wood elves are cousins, Ms. Stone looked annoyed. "Well, let him come find me then. If it's business to conduct, I'm an entrepreneur. But if it's trouble he's looking for -- well, 'luna' forms the root of 'lunacy'."

Two maniacs, one wearing a black cloak and a funny hat, the other dressed in horrible, vomit covered clothes and wearing a yellow cloak, reportedly had a brawl near the fire. They were later seen leaving together, laughing and screaming about 'them'. There was a minor fire in the woods near the fire.
They ran through the shrine of Ilmater, still screaming about 'them' and being 'touched by Selah'. They then left town, and were found passed out in the middle of the Trade Way some distance from town.

There seem to be a long trail of blood and puke along the tradeway towards the gate.
Rumors tell of a halfling traveling with the two maniacs at some point. And the hin running naked along the tradeway at some point.

Two rowdy dockworkers sitting at the camp fire briefly mention that their little songbird apparantly have fallen ill. One of them slams the other on the shoulder, laughing loud.
"What was that there she said, o'comon! You do it so well!"
The other breaks into a toothy grin and bellows in a horrible offkey tune
~I may fall on my bum now and then~
~But I'll always jump up again!~
~Never fear, ~
~Never worry, ~
~I'll be there in a hurry!~
The other laughs again, slapping his knee.
"Hah, you'll see Helm break his word before you see her spirit broken!"

Rumours have begun to circulate that the farmer Jorn is really a secret Malarite. His cunning tactic of paying lowly adventurers to slaughter helpless animals is a ruse designed to tempt said adventurers to Malar's faith. What is done with the massive amounts of animal bits is unknown, as is the source of this "poor" farmer's seemingly limitless funds.

Other rumors circulate from the city officials that Farmer Jorn and his workers are employed directly by the city and paid healthy for the crops he produces to feed the city. Those found slandering his good name will be incarcerated for slandering his name and fined a fee of a thousand gold coins to be paid to the farmer and his workers.

It is rumored that a dark skinned man ran rampant across Baldur Gate in the nude. Fist authories giving chase were unable to catch him as he vanished into the docks. It is rumored he may have been a patient escaped, or a mad bard as he danced and sang his way through the streets.

Those connected to the trade guilds of Baldur's Gate will note a buzz of rumour surrounding the elven peoples of Doron Amar. Speculation is running rampant in certain circles as to what goods the elves may be producing for trade, if any.
Already, jockeying amongst the smaller guilds has begun. Early access to a new source of trade goods may be worth much gold to certain folk.
