Thank you for you oppinion, Deathgrowl.
Few words that I may have for you:
1) Accent is a problem of pronounciation, not intellect. Even professors in our university have accent, although they know english already for decades. In journal he of course does not have accent, beacause he actually writes.
2) About Kozakuran language, well one of the DMs sayed he will give it to Kyo after he RPs he has it long enough.
3) Walkin' with weapons out in FAI, well I do not do it already for some long time. I rather RP, he makes his weapons magically disappear or hides his sword scabbarded in his sleeve.

Oh, I maybe forgot to say... I will not discuss character sheets. Lets just say, you have not seen it, you do not know what is in it. And I strongly disapprove picking at narcaleptic's Buurk's Bugbear heritage aswell, if you ask my opinion on that matter. Lets say I strongly dislike formalism. Lets say if Kyos non-elf RP does not harrass and humiliate you to the bottom of your soul, then try to appriciate him as he is.

Cool, maybe your non-elf can do some l33t RP with my half-elf who is also half-kobold and comes from Naboo. And he says "Mesa no care bouts caricature sh1ts, Wesa have mosts fun, sinse mesa was once Emperor of Allll Kozakura!"

Ouch, you hurt my soul

I'm rolling up a half-halfling that always does things half assed. He'll use a shortsword but call it a half-sword. And he'l speak pig latin.

"Ellohay M'iay ay alfhay-Alflinghay romfay Aterdeepway!"

I think (do-me) means he had a custom appearance change to a human or something.. at least that's what I believe.

I do however think humans still look more asian than elves.

Btw what's pig latin..?

Nevermind, google answered me.

I think the DMs should add the "RP what's on your charactersheet" as an official rule now. That way we'll get rid of all those people who insist that their characters be something they aren't.

It has always been somewhat of a tacit informal rule, certainly, but one that is nonetheless present. It is the same rule that means Paladins cannot be casting Detect Evil on every person they meet and demanding an answer. It is partly a rule meant to protect other characters from certain abilities that would be impractical or unbalanced in the game, partly to save the headache of having to mediate disputes between players using non-engine abilities, and partly to ensure that the server is not overrun with cat-eared shapeshifting werewolf vampires. Overall, it is a good rule.

I will say a positive thing about Kyogetsu, though: like some of the best elves, he is the kind of character that one simply loves to hate ICly. He pulls off the unreasonable and unwarranted arrogance of a person who mistakenly thinks he is superior very well, and in that regard at least is well-done.

Deathgrowl wrote:The language/accent, as someone mentioned before. First of all, it seems a bit inconsistent. Second, I don't know if it really makes sense for a high int (you're a wizard, right?) character to add some of the endings to words like "-to". You say "wanteddo", "butto", "good-hearteddo" and such. I'm not saying you shouldn't have an accent, but parts of your accent seems more like he simply doesn't know the language. I've some of the journal entries you have written for the character, and he doesn't seem to have the same problem there. Not the "-dono" and "-chan", though. Those are fine. And again, you're playing an elf. It would actually make more sense if you had an elven accent, if anything (unless you go for the raised-by-humans background kind of thing).
To me, this sounds like the character is supposed to have a hollywood-style faux "Japanese accent" like you might find in old kung-fu movies.

This is not true. Accent is taken directly from real life. Phrase "Japanese accent in Kung-fu movies" is to be honest an oxymoron, considering that Kung-fu is CHINESE (!).

"Kung fu movie" is a general term for any movie that involves martial arts. I dare say that even a movie that use Muay Thai as it's iconic art... it'd still be called Kung Fu Movie.

Also, in most chinese Kung Fu movies the japanese are often the bad guys, such as in the A man Called Hero. (though it's only half-kung fu movie, half whatever the chinese name for such.)

If I really wanted to argue I could say any movie that decipts high skill is a Kung Fu movie since.. Kung Fu means High skill in sth.

(Yes... Great programmers can be said to do Kung Fu while writing code and nobody would mind should we use the actual meaning of the pharse lol.)

Comments please, on Deacon. Like him? Hate him? Too snowflaky?

Feedback and praise (Oh, I do love praise) is much appreciated. I am still working on fleshing out this odd little fellow. A next step will take him trading away wands and spellscrolls to whomever needs them, apart from his usual routine of helping out inexperienced adventurers with his magics and eavesdropping on fireside conversations.

Deacon is ~awesome~. All too often, when people try to play a similar character, they end up acting like an annoyance, like some kind of pranksome pixie.

Not Deacon, though - he simply comes off as freaking adorable.

That's so nice. Yes, I try not to be intrusive and annoying. Which is a fine line really. Being small and running around and popping up in places can be considered as such. Though I try not to be in everyone's face, and do back up if players find my RP intrusive.

Other than that, I had hoped that Deacon's constant gifts of beneficial cheese, spells and other products would be appreciated by the community. And apparently it has! :)
