A DC 15 Lore (Local Test) Provides the following information:
Hidden: show
Zeeta Thulkist a scion of the Banking House of Thulkist, an Sembian banking family of mixed reputation. She has already sponsored several expeditions against bandits on the region. Various rumours suggest she is either acting as a broker for one or more anonymous sponsors, or is creating conditions conducive to the arrival of a House of Thulkist caravan carrying sufficient wealth to open a new chapter of the Thulkist bank in Baldur's Gate.
OOC: This will be an IC expedition to the Cloakwood, with the intent of recovering the ore from the Mining Company quest giver next to the East Gate market. The expedition will leave from the Elf-song tavern on Sunday 21st April 2019 20:00 British Summer Time (GMT +1). Contact me here via PM or on discord to express interest. Preferred character levels are those appropriate to the dungeon (about 5-10).

PM me here or on discord if you are interested.
Cancelled due to lack of numbers. Sorry guys.

A druid can be seen praying at the shrine of Eldath in the Reaching Woods, it suddenly turns into an elf archer and starts patrolling the forest hunting gnolls, when suddenly a figure in black armor, black cloak, shield and a red bandana can be seen fighting the gnolls, the elf archers fights the gnolls too and exchanges a few words with the man, they can be seen hunting together and facing the gnoll chieftain, then the man in black armor departs and bids farewell.

Featherfox wrote: Since the arrival of the stonemasons at Soubar, efforts went quickly to get them properly sorted to start work on the walls. Expert masons organize and develop shift rotations for work to advance. The work crew is almost exclusively men and half-orcs of large builds. The crew works diligently first assessing their section of wall for weaknesses, tearing down what needs to be done, then filling gaps and reinforcing the remaining existing wall structure. Progress is slow but steady as the experienced workers toil to give Soubar a strong wall; a precious few feet per day.

He makes his way over to the bar. "Olore, Mag. The usual ale," she too is given the foreign greeting and he places a few coins on the bar. "Anything of note been happening around here recently?" While he waits for his ale to be poured, he turns to keep an eye on the room - not focusing his gaze on anyone in particular whilst still being aware of some of the individuals which caught his eye earlier.
DM Arrakeen wrote:Betha greeted the priest with a sweet smile then hurried to the kitchen possibly to aid Oria. Mag poured Kaz his usual ale of choice.
"Seeing who ye've been spending time with, ye tell me, Mr. Resnik," the Innkeep chuckled. "Ye've heard they want to host a traders' gathering, eh?"

"Greetings, my name is Brigitte, a fairly new member of the Blades. I'll take a pint." Brigitte has one very piercing and discerning eye, but offers a pleasant smile as part of her opening impression.
DM Arrakeen wrote:The new arrival drew the Soubarian leader's attention, and she eyed the armored, one-eyed woman as one would a crate of goods. "A new Blade?" she slid a pint full of ale across the surface to the female mercenary and dropped the coin in the jar. "One of yer Sergeant's was just here," Mag's gaze narrowed at Gitty. "Good of ye to come by, introduce yourself and all. Ye will take a message back to yer Captain on yer way out," her tone indicated it wasn't a request. "For now, meet the local priest that has put up shop around here a while ago. Mr. Resnik," she made the introductions then moved aside to check on a keg.

Just some big lad bruisers to keep who I want out of my place is all. . ." A slight tap of the old man's finger makes a chipping sound on the table.
DM Arrakeen wrote:The Frilled Lizards mercenary mulled over the proposition.
"And what if the holy gateling garbage comes in force? Do you offer armaments or other equipment? What's the pay? Are we allowed to loot who we kill in the protection of your little operation?" the man's tone was all business; he clearly knew what he was doing.

The priest squints a bit at Betha as the sweet smile is given then writes it off as customary practises of tavern wenches. "Uh huh..." Is the only form of reply he gives Mag, possibly as a reply to both her statements. Perhaps more would have been said if Brigitte hadn't then arrived.

Kazimir gives Brigitte a nod, without returning the smile. "We've met, aye. Think you and Morgan were comparing undead or she was just showing them off... don't know, can't say I looked too close." He drinks of the ale as he listens to what she's suggesting. As he lowers the tankard, Brigitte is awarded with a 'Are you serious?'-expression.

"Err... I'm assuming you mean the workers and masons the Golden Wheel arranged for. They ain't kids but grown folk, they'll do the work as that's what they've been hired for. If you're wanting to offer 'incentive' then some sort of promise to not turn them into undead and adding to your basement at the keep might be a nice start?" The priest speaks in a rather neutral tone and then shrugs his shoulders. "Pretty sure however that any drinks and the like wouldn't be turned away but keep a balance on that unless you want wobbly walls. Oria Firalis is already cooking for them in the kitchen and ain't asked for much in return."

"As for the... dealing locally part, it ain't like folks here are farmers or the like, whatever that's special here has been moved here." As if wondering whether the tents and lack of worked fields didn't already give that away to Brigitte. "Unless of course, Mag grows some weird mushrooms in her cellar... heard spirits can be made from that." He glances towards Mag, the comment not having been all that serious.

Brigitte keeps her smile despite the obvious sarcasm flung her way. "Well, I can see we got off on the wrong foot. It's clear socializing isn't your suit. Though, to answer your painfully obvious questions; I have no intention of trying to do anything that would make the walls worse. Your vote of confidence aside I do actually want Soubar to have nice strong walls. Second, Soubar is a town of merchants and brokers. I know things aren't grown here; but there are certain people to talk to who can obtain nice things. Now, if you're going to twist everything I say into something snide, then we're done. Though, if you'd like to try again with less snipe, my name's Brigitte - nice to meet you."

"There was never a more suitable incentive than ale or coin or both," she smirked. "I have enough barrels and bottles to trade if yer own stock goes dry. Fancy foods not so much and that is a rare commodity here."

She moved to unload a small crate of some other type of booze while Gitty and Kaz talked.

He drinks from the tankard and adds, "The Golden Wheel Trading Company can acquire any goods you're looking for. The Ebon Blades already has contact with some others, too. Not sure I'd call any of them true locals but they might be close enough. Lots of folks tend to come and go." He eyes Brigitte to see her reaction, whether these words will be as ill received as the previous ones or not.

Brigitte nods to Kazimir's words. She turns briefly back to her drink, but says calmly in reply, "Better." She downs her drink then looks to the kitchen. "I'll need to remember to thank that woman on my way out too." She turns back to Kazimir. "The Golden Wheel's a good trading company. I was just wondering if there were locals who could use the coin more. Though, you're not wrong; this place doesn't have many old faces." Brigitte looks to Mag, "Thanks for the drink; I'll be sure to stop in again later. About that message?"

Slips behind the counter as instructed to receive her 'message', then swings by the kitchen to say thanks to the people within for their efforts. With a final wave to the windy cleric the woman sees herself out.

"I've seen much stupidity, Mag." The priest glances at Mag then turns his attention back to the taproom, the meaning of his words up to her to interpret and not saying more unless prompted. He would be content to just sit down there in her establishment for a while, in no hurry to leave.
