Amazing!

I love your ability to capture the idea of the characters emotions and clearly display a whole story in one frame.

And your latest piece shown, the perspective and depth... 'it just works' and looks great!

A diamond hidden in shadows , need to see more of your talent!

Hello again! I'm back from the dead once more and have one spot open for a small commission. If anyone's interested send me a PM or poke me on discord https://discord.gg/Z4ZCHQ8

Small commission means it can be a bust portrait, drawing or black&white piece, generally what i can finish relatively quickly :)
I will be taking bigger commissions later too, but will make a new note when that happens.

I love it! I know Arn was super excited too about having a portrait done! :happy-smileyflower:

But who would have known Mi-Le's glasses are square instead of round. *Gasp!*

Thank you, Angevere! I love how you painted his pack of herbs, and Sena (the spirit hawk) turned out exactly how I imagined. The way you used the lighting is great.

I was SUPER excited when Angevere accepted my request.
And I've always mentally pictured his glasses to be square, for some reason. Although I know spectacles are available in Faerun (Waterdeep and the North, page 31), I keep imagining that they're a bit more clunky and primitive. Maybe I'm wrong to imagine them that way, but I've decided that's how Mi-Le's spectacles look. :geek:

Yeah, I figured with this character, I'd try going back to the roots of the monk class. :D After all, D&D monks are pretty much inspired by Shaolin Kung-Fu monks. But with Mi-Le's RP, I just focus on monastic teachings instead of martial arts.
Funny thing is, he's a monk of the Old Order, and there isn't that much lore about them. I've only ever found a couple blurbs that talk about how the Old Order fights defensively and doesn't worship any deity (both details which seem inspired by RL monks). And apparently, Eric Boyd has straight up said "The Old Order is pretty much a blank slate." Basically, you have to fill in a lot of blanks yourself, especially if you want to get inside your character's head and figure out what he believes in. So I've used the Shou religion of the Way (Kara-Tur: The Eastern Realms, page 28) to fill in some of the blanks, and for the rest I emulate RL monks.

Over the years, I've enjoyed learning about FR lore and monk philosophy to try to RP Mi-Le convincingly. I feel like this painting captures a lot of his character and history, and I'm grateful to Angevere for her work. :)
