Since the topic of surface/UD interaction has come up quite a bit there are some people that deserve credit:

Herran Hymn (Paw): For being that adorable unwitting and unknowing hero of Sshamath.
I am not sure Sshamath would still stand without his aid in aquiring the surface slaves we gave to the illithid hive to make it see things our way.
The rp was exquisite, kisses to that fatty pale thing he latter named his wife.

Unknown dwarf: For stumbling upon a burning lighthouse and quite the scattering of corpses, you got close enough to realize some of the still barely living were drow and decided to hasten away from the scene. Beautiful, thank you. (sometimes less is truly more)

Lord & Lady Tremelaine (Galaahd II & Halo D): For taking it all in stride and thanks for the cheese.

There are many more to write about under this subject, some good some evil. But alas since things are still moving along, lets keep it under wraps hmm?

Thank you all.
"Drojal zhah obdoluth dorb'd streeak, Lueth dro zhah zhaunau dorb'd ogglin."
"Existence is empty without chaos, Life is boring without enemies." So sayeth Lady Lolth, Queen of Chaos.

PC: Natalya, wandering enchantress.

Other than that, I had hoped that Deacon's constant gifts of beneficial cheese, spells and other products would be appreciated by the community. And apparently it has! :)

YOU FREAKIN' ALMOST KILLED ME IRL!!!

*Drinks casually from his bottle of water, awaiting the priest to explain the rules of the Knaves' challenge. He decides that Hoihe's cats + sneak bonus will help, taking him out. All of a sudden Deacon yells "ARGH RUN AWAY" and the player almost chokes on the water, entering a coughing fit for 5 minutes straight.*

 :o

Guys, I applaud your lack of fear against metagaming! (I am honest there, sometimes I think some players are far too afraid of metagame that it even hinders their RP potential. While I understand some groups need secrecy, I see no reason to some of the fear I also see.)

I must say that the amount of metagaming accusations here does get ridiculous sometimes. I even saw a guy once accuse someone of metagaming because he clicked an area transition. Personally I've been accused of metagaming for calling characters by their names after hearing someone else say it.

Person 1: Hi Bob, how's it going
Bob: I'm Good and you?
Me (jumping into the conversation): Bob! There you are! I was wondering when you'd show up!
Bob: // Stop metagaming! You don't know my name yet!

When I mention someone's name after hearing it, I will try to always go:

Person 1: Hi Bob, how's it going
Bob: I'm Good and you?
Me (jumping into the conversation): Bob? So your name is bob? *wait until they nod* There you are! I was wondering when you'd show up!
Bob: blabalbalbabla

Yes, but my character does it pretending that he already knows Bob. I'll even roll bluff checks sometimes if the person says IC that he doesn't remember me. Then I'll often proceed to introduce Bob to other characters as if I'd known him my whole life.

Ah! I'd suggest sending a tell to the player in question then, explaining your character's tendency to be a jester.

Tells are a massive pain in the butt for me. For some reason, Obsidian screwed them up horribly and never bothered to get them right. Half the time they just don't work at all. I'll right click a player or their name in the chat box, type a long detailed tell, and then get "Player not found." As a result, I avoid using tells unless I have absolutely no other conceivable option.

Besides, a lot of the fun is that they don't know IC or OOC if my character has actually met them before.

I assume you get

/t "name name "

You need to delete that last space

/t "name name" and it'll work.

Feedback and praise (Oh, I do love praise) is much appreciated. I am still working on fleshing out this odd little fellow. A next step will take him trading away wands and spellscrolls to whomever needs them, apart from his usual routine of helping out inexperienced adventurers with his magics and eavesdropping on fireside conversations.

May I please be added to the list? Played here a few years ago, around the time of the siege on the fortress that is now the FAI, and am making a reappearance.
