ooc.. -who is in charge of the church now? My ilmaari fs needs to speak to someone about something and i have no idea whose running the church now. its something involving her rp with another character. I can rp talking to the people in the shrine or whatnot but on this I actually need to speak with someone.

As those asking for help increase,Althea decides to become persistant,knowing busy people often miss things, and the cries of distress can often draw attention. she walks up to Borther marcus and hands him a note as she explains, so he can connect her face and voice with the listed requests.
Hello brother Marcus, Ilmater is bringing more people to me , and i am going to need some help now. I met a follower of Ilmater who is apparently seeking aid to break a fey pact. He does not remember making the pact, but has been told theres a ritual that can work, and was sure if the living saint were here she would help. Being he has asked for help, and is of our faith , I promised I would.

Also,there is a woman who seems to be ill at ease from a past event that wounded but but healed. It is disrupting her sleep. I know some things I can do, but I also said I would see if I could find a tonic for sleeping, preferably one not poisonous. She does not wish to drink tea.

Finally is a small request. I need some gloves big enough to cover my ba.. well never mind that . the other two requests are important .

Knowing he is busy, she leave him. she has other chores.

A letter from the Radiant Heart Reaches the Sanctuary of Ilmater.

“To the Sanctuary of Ilmater
To whom it may concern
We write this letter to let you know that the Council of Four has given us, the Baldur´s Gate Chapter of the Radiant Heart, the right to build a stronghold near the Fields of The Dead. We may be able to erect walls around the Mercy Orphanage to help in the protection of your children. This was a desire of your Living Saint before she left your fair city.
Let us know your answer as soon as possible, because we need to start to build our fortress.
May Helm watch over your.

The temple and the Orphanage are abuzz... and the kitchens carry a once familiar smell of baked goods...

It is known by now that the Saint made her way to the Friendly Arm Inn, visiting with old friends... It was quickly evident that she was here on business and not so much to visit.

She offered blessings to the Flaming Fist busy setting up camp as whispers of war drift from ear to ear.

She stops to speak with those who will listen, pausing to pay her respects at the Memorial to the Honored Dead.

Finally she makes her way to the temple, grumbling about the bridge, and sending letters to various Ilmatari temples along and near the Coast, as tensions with Amn increase.

The letters merely call for aid, food and healing supplies as battle looms. Asking all Ilmatari who are in the area and able to be prepared to aid, should the worst come to pass.

When she arrives home to the Orphanage, she endures a lecture from Sister Juna about doing to much work in her state, before the two women begin laying plans, should the remaining orphans need to be moved.

When asked how long she intends to stay, the Saint answers that she merely came to make sure that the Orphanage was safe, and that the Ilmatari were ready to heal in the coming days, well supplied and prepared to set up a field hospital should battle reach Duchal Lands. It is likely she will remain a day or two before returning to Tethyr.

Three unevenly spaced hesitant knocks could be heard before the door is slowly opened. Following closely behind it is a wide-eyed young woman, looking halfway ready to bolt out the way she came, though eventually she makes her way inside, closing the door behind her.

"Hello..." she would call out to the people looking at her. She unclasps her cloak and holds it gingerly in front of her, squeezing it in some distraction. "...My name is Louise, and I'd... I'd like to offer my services to the temple, if it's wanted..."

She purses her lip, seemingly holding back whatever else she means to say. After some some considerable amount of emotions play off within her face, her eyes snap back into focus and she offers those around a wide, helpless smile.

Sister Arabella, takes a last look at the orphanage she is barred from and sighs. Perhaps one day she will be readmitted.

Hearing this , Sister Althea is stunned. she begins to ask around about her concerned. She is soon distracted by a letter and by a request from the saint..

Meri makes her way to the Temple of Ilmater, recent rumors and whispers putting a crease to her brow.

When she arrives there, she does a quick inventory of supplies before letters are sent with messengers, bound as far away as Damara, especially to the Ilmatari's Northern Allies. Each message conveys the need for healers, healing supplies, food, blankets and prayer. The complication of the Wyrm's Crossing being crippled is mentioned not to dissway them from arriving, but offer them a moment to plan ahead accordingly. Each bears the warning that war is looming with Amn, and the Gate's enemies are flocking. If ever there was a time for allies, it is now.

The messages and other duties tended to, Meri smiles when Sister Louise knocks.

"Come in dear. This is your temple as much as mine. Its door is always open to you. Indeed you can help me. You know the Ilmatari new to the region better than I, Sister Louise. I would ask a favor of you: Let them know I would like to meet all of you before I must depart, please?"

Meri's patient smile never dissipates as she regards the timid woman.

1) Let's keep the OOC in the thread productive please and limited as possible.

2) Meri is calling a meeting for the Ilmatari (and members of the Triad, the Radiant Heart. Any other interested parties [of goodly faiths of course] please send me a PM) I would like to do it in game, either today or Tomorrow. Please, if you are Ilmatari send me a PM and let me know what time works best for you. I'll try to schedule it for a time that works for as many as possible.

If all else fails, there will be a public post here on Saturday for those who cannot make it.

Her nervousness is quickly dissipated by Meri's comforting manner and her own smile transforms into one of genuine exuberance.

"Yes, Saint!" She would reply - had she been trained as a soldier her hand would have flown into a salute then and there. Instead - barely restraining herself from bolting out the door - she gives a quick little curtsey and then runs off, intent to find the others.

Later on she would notice the stares brought on by such an outward display of emotions and, after taking a moment to compose herself, she would walk to the ferryman with a measured amount of serenity. She would not seem to notice the bounce still in her step nor her brief bursts of random humming.

Meri chuckles after the young woman. Smiling herself, she busies herself with as much work as the Sisters will let the pregnant Saint get away with. Which isn't much... Instead she contents herself with organizing supplies and to do lists, contacting allies and making more baby clothes... for a girl. The others busy themselves, making sure there is plenty of seating for those willing to attend.

"Mercy willing, we will fill the temple..."

For those who can attend, the Ilmatari/Radiant Heart Meeting will be at 4pm CST (Around the time of this post) Tomorrow, (friday) at the Temple of Ilmater (the shrine in the NE corner of the East Gate District Map) and last until everyone runs out of questions/comments/stuff to chat about.

Meri returns to the temple briefly for prayers and to make final arrangements before the gathering that is to come. She takes the letter with a raised brow, reading it over with another raised brow, before tucking it away. She looks to Brother Marcus as he helps her with the preparations.

"Something else I would do well to speak with Lance, and perhaps the others, about during the meeting... Though if this General knows well the Siege, he knows fighting is the last resort, and my stance on protecting the city's people."

[She busies herself in the temple kitchen for the rest of the morning, wondering what is to come, both in recent events and things more distant.]

Delphinn Veil visits the Church of Ilmater as he has many times over the past few months. As always, he sits and visits with the girl Laydalee. The girl not allowed into the orphanage. He speaks with her in an unrushed manner and lets her guide the topic of conversation to whatever interests her. If allowed, he even takes her for a walk around the Gate but making sure she's back well before dark. His visit is otherwise typical, he brings a small donation of gold and food, and new clothes for Laydalee.

As he leaves, he can be heard muttering far from Laydalee, "If the Church of Ilmater is unwilling to help her, maybe I'll visit the Red Wizard Enclave. Perhaps their magic can..."
