A strange new individual has surfaced around Baldur's Gate. He has been seen running through the city, farmlands, and the Trade Way just beyond the Gate, cackling and giggling to himself. One concerned citizen has already alerted the Fist to his strange behavior, but he seems harmless....so far.

Several bodies of Flaming Fist killers have been publicly hung, drawn and quartered. The remains can be seen by all and stand as a reminder of what happens to those who attack the Fist.

Recently some news has come down from on high, and the guttersnipes are playing least-in-sight. Pickpocketing and petty thievery are down in all districts, the noble district most especially.

Merchants praise the effectiveness of the Fist and city watchmen, though most of the commonry has the sense to know something else is afoot.

Rumors spread of a madman declaring that it is "open season" on the Flaming Fist, and that war was to be enacted upon the brave protectors of Baldur's Gate. The man was promptly arrested for disrupting the peace and brought in for questioning.

The Flaming Fist leadership dismisses these rumors as lunatic drivel, and assures citizens that no rag-tag bunch of misfits could ever present a serious threat to the city of Baldur's Gate.

Rumours spread through the taverns in the middle-class neighborhoods - despite the assurances of the Fist, a series of recents events has led to a little 'capital flight' on the part of foreign merchants. Though by no means a clear trend, enough trade has gone elsewhere to be noticed.

Despite the idleness of the dock workers without work, the harbour is uncommonly quiet. Many seem to be waiting for something, even if they do not themselves know what it is.

Rumors spread in the city of baldurs that at night, a man who semnt to be a homeless, wandered for some time in the streets of baldurs. The tall man had filthy rags, long hair, a beard that hasn't been shaved for a long time. He was also missing an arm, and his face was disfigured on the left side, his white eye almost poping out by itself. The man semnt weak, starving, and unaware of the surrounding people.

Barely able to walk, he made his way to the temple of Ilmater. Some kids who tried to steal him in the road said that when they got near the man, the only thing shiny they've seen on him was his golden teeths, wich they saw on the disfigured side of his face, since a part of the cheek was missing.

The East Harbor district is abuzz with new activity. New lights shine in abandoned buildings. New faces mill about, offering friendly greetings and conversation with the locals. Flaming fist patrols are more frequent and no one seems to be so quick to run home when the sky darkens at night. Upon orders from the duke, the groundskeepers of the palace district seem consumed with the duty of renovating west-harbor warehouses and preparing them for new tenants.

Rumors reach Baldur's Gate along with travelers who come from Candle keep and Bergerost that clan Ironfaar has started to sell their fine items at the Lions way.

On first sale day there has been told to be enough folk to form a line of several feet long and the items clan was selling were not second grade junk but finely made dwarven armors and weapons.

Some folk have made doubtful comments that the items on sale were not the finest what they can make but along the the line what dwarves consider common among their own kin.

A dark man is seen turning the earth aand searching the remains of the camp, battlefield and temple ruins of the Bhaalist temple. When. Asked the why of it he states manyfell during the siege and I do not know if they were put to rest properly. If any remains are here of the Fist or the adventurers who helped they deserve a proper burial and rest.

Not so much a rumour as absolute unvarnished truth, a great conflagration was lit off at a docks warehouse last night. Flaming Fist were on the scene to perform evacuations and cordon off the area, and Eltan's men swifly worked to get the great fire under control.

The subject of speculation, however, is the nature of the fire itself. How did it start? Who owned the warehouse in the shadiest part of town? Was it arson?

These questions remain unanswered for many citizens today, as their concerns largely center around trade and security, after all. But to a small few, sharing looks establishments like the Blushing Mermaid, it is an ominous sign to others of their trade.

Between the increased security at the docks and the sudden lack of a certain warehouse, a band of urchins led by a tough-looking guttersnipe descended on the Ilmater temple.

A good-hearted Flaming Fist helped out with donations of clothing and supplies as the Ilmateri pitched in to get the children fed, healed, and to bed. Silence eventually descends over the Sanctuary, though the Brothers and Sisters of Ilmater seem to share Saint Merielle's happiness and inner light.

For now, at least, many of the children from the street have found a home.

Though little heard from by most adventurers of the Gate, Duke Entar Silvershield made waves and rumours by suddenly calling to him representatives from all the major trade guilds and merchant houses within the city.

Commonly known as 'the richest man in Baldur's Gate', such sudden summons rarely bode well for those involved. And if you don't believe me, ask any tavern drunk pontificating on hearing the news.

Rumor spreads that Galen'ael Glenstalker, Elder Druid of the Keepers of the Elder Circle, was seen traveling North.

Before he left for good, he was seen at his accustomed place near the camp fire chatting with old friends and giving parting wishes to all who knew him...whether good, evil, or somewhere in between...he commented he wished to return home to see his Clan...as it had been many years since he had seen them. Travelers commented he looked worn with age and quite tired.

"Aye, someone once said tis not the years, but tha mileage..." A farmer commented as he passed.

Tears streamed down his face as he crossed the Bridge and did not look back as he passed beyond the city of Baldurs Gate and into the Wilds beyond.

The wilder places about the cities of Baldurs Gate seemed to be quiet for a time and somewhat sad...if those in those environs could sense it.
