Re: Kingdom of Kraak Helzak Role Play (IC)
Armed with a mission bestowed upon her by Yashe, Nadine traveled farther than she had ever traveled before, battling bugbears and trolls with the help of her traveling companions to get to Kraak Helzak. She was charged with finding Bhor Stonecutter, a worker she was told could potentially assist in the rebuilding of Lady Firehair's temple. Alas, when she got to the dwarven kingdom, Bhor was nowhere to be found. She left a note with the guards, requesting they hand the note to Bhor Stonecutter when they see him.
The note says, "On behalf of the priestesses of the temple of Sune, I, Nadine, am requesting contact with Bhor Stonecutter in assisting us with the rebuilding of Sune's temple in Balur's Gate. We will need to remove the old foundation and replace it anew. Please contact Alyssia, head priestess, or Yashe or myself of your potential interest in this proposal. We look forward to hearing from you. May love and beauty light your way. -Nadine Ravenwood"

Sunites representing their faith's interests met and spoke at length with Bhor Stonecutter, the King's Hammer around various matters, ranging from the construction of a Temple of Sune in Baldur's Gate, to the fate of the priestess Danya who passed at the onset of the Time of Troubles. In spite of the weight of some of this subject matter, spirits generally remained high, and their meeting concluded with Stonecutter giving the pair a sort of tour of the fortress kingdom. Speaking at length of dwarven culture and history, and assurances were given that artisans would be sent to help set the foundations of stonework for a new temple.

A Call to Cull
All throughout the region of the mountains surrounding Kraak Helzak, rumbles of earthquakes can be felt by anyone who passes through. Scouting parties of dwarves who left the castle have returned with the cause of the mysterious tremors. Reports of colossal creatures of different shapes and sizes have been seen marching through the mountain pathways leaving behind destruction along the trade routes. Rumors speculate on the exact size and composition of the beasts, but this does not deter the dwarven king. King Battlehammer is quick to put the threat to rest and issues a competition to his people.
"Beginning today to the end of Nightal I King Battlehammer issue a challenge to the people of Kraak Helzak. Those who shall set eyes on one of these giant beasts threatening our land, shall slay it where it stands. The group that should bring forth the largest head shall be rewarded by the kingdom. Let no giant stand against the kingdom! Let the hunt begin!"
Those in the region are told to proceed with extreme caution. Creatures reported include giants, trolls, and other strange creatures found only in nightmares. To those brave enough to take part in the competition, Tymora be on your side.
((There is no scheduling for these encounters. They will occur at random for the duration of December.))

((Again to clarify the post above. There will be no scheduling for the giants arc. The only way to be part is to be actively in game and in the region. My DMing usually begins at 24 GMT. Happy hunting!))

Reports from the North

Those adventuring through the mountainous region are cautioned of the sightings of a strange black ooze moving through the river ways. The ooze itself has been said to cling on to nearby living things and cause ghastly mutations. The list of said mutations has yet to be fully discovered, and can range from gigantism to death.

Not far from these sightings are the reports of a gigantic spider looming through the rocky peaks. The cliff sides seem to be draped in long cloaks of spider webs, while high up in the rocks the bodies of trolls can be seen wrapped up in a cocoon of the sticky threads. Few have seen this ambush predator in person, and fewer have survived to make any claims. One thing is for certain. It is not the only giant in this region.
//please feel free to send me follow up on the ooze and investigation. I will only be answering quick forum rp on it. The giant encounters will again not be scheduled. They will happen by chance. Happy Holidays!///

After an unsuccessful hunt in the Troll Claws, Grobb returns to Kraak Helzag to speak to the locals and officials if they had heard any reports of sightings of the monstrous spider creature. In his search, he happened across Elyssa Symbaern. In an extensive talk about the creature, Grobb hands her a mandible that he took off one of the spider spawnings from the mighty beast, in the hopes that Elyssa could find anything about the nature, magical or not, about the colossal shadow creature plaguing the Troll Claws.

Re: Kingdom of Kraak Helzak Role Play (IC)
The sun elven bladesinger, Elyssa Symbaern came to visit the dwarven kingdom, curious how it had fared over the years. With her visit to the tavern within the halls of the kingdom, she saw Grogg come in. The two shared words up the steps of the tavern; Groggs particular tale was recounted about the massive spider, the smaller spiders, slime and what curious nature they had in between.
The armoured Grogg handed over mandibles to the sun elf, and the pair departed into the troll claws, only to return later again. Elyssa Symbaern looked for ways to spend the night there, starting with the Burning Troll.
In the morn, after reverie, the sun elf would also be seen playing the harp in the Burning Troll for a time. Outside, but in between the walls of the dwarven kingdom, the elf would have sat near four ivory strips formed in a rectangle and incense burning for a while.

Re: Kingdom of Kraak Helzak Role Play (IC)
Grobb rushed out of the city of Kraak Helzak once he had arrived, he had been left word that his friends were in the Troll Claws again hunting for the beast, but it seemed that they had ventured out before him and reports had reached the city that they had encountered a monster. He rushed through the canyon, beating back the trolls in his way, until finally he reached the party. It seemed at first that the beast had already been slain, a gargantuan troll felled by their hands. Word of black ooze and giant rabbits confused him, but his keen eyes spotted the ooze in the river. As the group approached the rushing river, a strange, orange rock sprang out from the depths of the water. Confused, he examined the rock along with the rest of his group for any clues as to the nature of it. Out of the nowhere, the rock split, spewing forth horrible slimes of different colours. The fight was rough, but the slimes were gone.
The entire situation was strange, and it only got stranger when a large, hulking grey Slaad lumbered down the canyon path towards them. To say that the group was shocked was an understatement, to see such a strange creature just casually walking up to them. Grobb had seen his fair share of creatures and monsters but this one was strange even for him. After a...brief talk with the Slaad, it proceeded to enter the river, to try and retrieve the rock that had shattered moments. Upon seeing it destroyed, it spoke to the group, Grobb took courage and stood before the beast to try and reason with it, a most strange scenario.
After a long talk with the beast, with all members of the group exchanging questions to the Slaad, the creature confessed that it had been the source of the black ooze, the same black ooze that been attaching and infecting itself to various creatures in the Troll Claws, turning them into horrifying monsters beyond imagining, for the purpose of breeding more Slaads. Grobb believed that humouring the creature would be the best course of action, asking it if it wanted gold or precious items. The Slaad apparently wanted neither, instead asking for...a story. A story of romance, betrayal and, a rather strange demand that it feature a Kobold and a goblin. Grobb was most confused but he nodded, however and requested the help of his close friend, Eres Starlight, the groups bard. As Eres began conjuring a fabulous and bizarre story of love between two small, smelly creatures, Grobb pulled out his mandolin and began to play, noticing that the Slaad was swaying to the music.
The story ended after some time, the Slaad was pleased and agreed to leave, to return to its own plane of existence. But it first gave unto Grobb, a gift. A collection of strange red vines and flowers, knowing the abilities that this creature possessed, Grobb was a little apprehensive but didn't want to offend the creature. After it disappeared, the group seemed relieved, the threat was gone, at least from the Slaad. A last surprise of the night was the reappearance of the giant rabbit that been mentioned. Grobb approached the cute animal, towering over him as he gently stroked it. Upon examination, the creature's fur was infested with larvae from the Slaad, and it seemed to be...dying. Unsure what to do, Grobb stayed by the rabbit's side, doing his best to keep it calm. When it seemed to be fading away, Ashal Reynolt, the parties cleric cast a spell. The golden light bathed over the rabbit, cleansing the larvae from the creatures fur, healing it's wounds, both internal and external. After this, the rabbit suddenly and magically returned to its original size and Grobb made sure to comfort it in it's strange new surroundings. Deeming the Troll Claws to be an unsafe place for such an innocent creature, he took ownership of the rabbit, and will have to find it a place to live, his immediate thought being the gardens of the Vale Estate, he would first need to ask Lord Vale for permission to do so.
As the party headed back to the city, Grobb could only think back and wonder what might have happened if he hadn't have been there, then he chuckled to himself, it was certainly never a boring life in the Sword Coast.

The Return from the Search
After a few tendays a hunting party of dwarves return from the mountainous region of Kraak Helzak. Without an ooze in sight, each of the battle seasoned hunters enter the castle with long faces and tired groans. They report the lack of these monsters in the region and the lack of these oozes. The whispers and mutterings of dissatisfaction quickly relay the overall feeling of anger, as the dwarves themselves were looking forward to the hunt of these monsters.
"Elves and humans always thinking they know what's best for us dwarves I see." One of them mutters between long drinks of his frothy ale.
The prize for largest giant will remain unclaimed. King Battlehammer announces the cancellation of the competition shortly after the return of the hunting party.

A young dwarf with groomed beard and armor made of dragon skin was recently spotted in the halls of Kraak Helzak. He spent most of the time in local tavern, drinking beer, being rowdy and talking with the bartender. Apparently, Durlog left his home in Galena Mountains and travelled to this region looking for other dwarfs to offer aid and exchange stories. He was very eager to help with whatever problems Kraak community is facing.
And to drink a lot of beer.

Re: Kingdom of Kraak Helzak Role Play (IC)
Under a moonless nightsky a slender and lithe hooded figurine approaches the gates of Kraak Helzaak. After brief muttered inquiries in a northern dwarvish dialect, she is seen entering the dwarf hold with hastened steps. Those few whom may observe her visit are met with a gentle and warm smile in passing, as she makes her way for the throne room. Though rather than entering, the woman carrying a peculiar lantern exchanges words with an entrusted defender of the dwarven hold, leaving a sealed parchment in his care addressed to Master Bhor Stonecutter. Moments later the woman descends in to the tunnels under the dwarf hold and vanishes to the murmur of a teleportation spell.
