The Smell of Oceans

“Nothing can bring you peace but yourself.
Nothing can bring you peace but the triumph of principles,
Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace.”

Image

While many people think sailing is all smooth seas, sunshine, sunsets, and beautiful beaches, it’s also a lot of hard work and can be incredibly challenging. Sometimes we just need a little inspiration or some friendly reminders about why we continue to battle the seasickness and the fear and the storms to reach that personal nirvana and freedom that comes from being one with the sea.

Image

As I've watched the many pirates and Captains I've come to realize, there is no better tool or equipment you can have on board than a well-trained crew. To desire nothing beyond what you have is surely happiness. Aboard a boat, it is frequently possible to achieve just that. That is why sailing is a way of life, one of the finest of lives. A sailor is an artist whose medium is the wind. Live passionately, even if it kills you, because something is going to kill you anyway.

Image

It's remarkable how quickly a good and favorable wind can sweep away the maddening frustrations of shore living. I think that is why the many sailors, pirates enjoy setting out to the seas. Its something non magical yet magical to each and everyone of them. But of course the thrill for the hunt and the hopes for good plunder is the added bonus.

I've once heard a saying, Ships are the nearest things to dreams that hands have ever made, for somewhere deep in their oaken hearts the soul of a song is laid. And I bloody love mine.

It may not be for everyone but for the rest, they would rather share one lifetime with someone very special, than to live the world with many ages all alone. A ceremony in which two people make their vows to become one heart, one soul..... is a ceremony to be considered very sacred. Not even everyone will have such a chance nor the opportunity.

Image

"Firstly I thank you all for coming today! And such a day it is! Its a true honor for me to introduce to you all the lovely couple that we came here today for. To witness the merging of hearts and souls! May I first present to you Rose Wintertal!"

Image

*Rose 's arm was hooked with Maevyn's, as they walked toward the altar with graceful strides upon green grass and a subtle wind comforted them as they strode nearer*

"My! Such a lovely bride!"

"Now dont be mistaken Rose is not marring Mae" *He chuckles* "But whom she IS to wed is the woman her heart truly desires! May I have this next honor to present my chaotic friend and lovely woman Mathilde!"

Sometimes nervousness can petrify us, overwhelmed with worry that something so special could go so very wrong. But that is where the magical happens within a wedding. Its that sacred that neither sides of good or evil give sway to allow for a holy and sacred ceremony to be conducted without conflict. Its that respectable or at the very least, it should be.

Image

Mathilde took longer to head towards the alter. Her nerves riddles with shakes, stress had made her stop to eat a chocolate treat. She wanted the moment to be perfect, she was anxious for this very moment. And until the moment was done, she would not be calm.

"Oh blimey ! Captain High Thigh better not be getting cold feed already!....There she is!"

*Suddenly Netanya...(by the gods that dress)..walked around the corner with her arms entwined with Mathilde, like a mother would to her daughter. The gathering had many wide smiles and the look of awe as they stared upon both woman, but it didn't go unnoticed that Mathilde had wiped some chocolate from her lips with a free hand. Only thoughtful minds had probably intended not to comment on that.*

"Ah, how lovely! A goddess of the spring with us!"

Image

"Welcome, family and friends. We are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the marriage of Rose and Mathilde. This is not the beginning of a new relationship, but an acknowledgment of the next chapter in there lives together. Rose and Mathilde will mark their transition as a couple not only by celebrating the love between themselves, but by also celebrating the love between all of us. Without that love, today would be far less joyous. "

I remember the night when I had first met Rose in the Blades and Stars, a new set of boots, a fresh face, a minstrel looking for fame and practicing a song. And such the song stopped me in my tracks to a point I had to swirl around and listen until the song concluded. Thus the beginning of our story, and here she was now getting married. Some people are blessed to experience such a life, one of fun, and plenty of happiness. But like the priestess Nadine had said, this was an acknowledgment of the next chapter in their lives together.

"Let them be reminded of your principles in their day-to-day lives. To protect and maintain beauty inside and out, to do all things with love, and to continue to stoke a fiery passion within their hearts."

"And tae shag each other like there's no tomorrow!"

Over a dozen bodies shifted in their seats or boots and glared at the short fat red headed dwarf with dagger piercing eyes. If one thing could be spoke about that moment, it would be, there where many lovely ladies in very lovely dresses, that gave a murderous glare to that dwarf. And if it want for him being a dwarf, someone just might have...or perhaps it was the unified vows that broke the intent of the crowd.

"You are Blood of my blood, and bone of my bone."
"You are Blood of my blood, and bone of my bone."

"I give you my body, that we two might be one."
"I give you my body, that we two might be one."

"I give you my spirit, 'til our life shall be done."
"I give you my spirit, 'til our life shall be done."

"You cannot command me, for I am a free person."
"You cannot command me, for I am a free person."

"But I shall serve you in those ways you require, and the honeycomb will taste sweeter coming from my hand."
"But I shall serve you in those ways you require, and the honeycomb will taste sweeter coming from my hand."

"You are the star of each night,"
"You are the star of each night,"

"You are the brightness of every morning,"
"You are the brightness of every morning,"

For I am a free person..that very line took my mind back to the nestled village of Roaringshore. That feeling, that sweet feeling of being a freeman is so invigorating to me. So many who question why I would make such a place home, that is the very reason. That is like none other. I do not live under the umbrella of man made laws, nor do I have to be subjected by their regulations. I...am...a...free...man.

Image

"A ring is an unbroken circle, with ends that have been joined together. And it represents your union. It is a symbol of infinity, and of your infinite love. "

"Before these witnesses, you have made your loving pledge. By the authority vested in me, I now pronounce you married. *She beams with joy* You may kiss!"

"Now yer talking!"

*Eye's glared to the dwarf once again*

"Please this is an holy ceremony in front of the gods!"

"Oh, the kiss is the best part!"

*Rose grins and leans to kiss Mathilde's lips. Hands wrapped around her lover's neck as a fully, passionate kiss is granted. Eyes closed as she presses herself forth for the most holy and most sacred moment in both of their lives.*

*Maevyn cheered for the happy couple and produced forth her lute and letting her voice ring out clearly to a song most deserving that very moment!*

"Let's offer the warmest applause to Rose and Mathilde in their first appearance as newly wedded wives!"

*Mathilde wrapped her arms around Rose waist in return as she passionately and shamelessly returned the kiss that completed their holy ceremony*

Image

Nothin' you can sing that can't be sung,
Nothin' you can say, but you can learn how to play the game,
No one you can save that can't be saved ,
Nothin' you can do, but you can learn how to be you in time ,
Nothin' you can make that can't be made ,
No one you can save that can't be saved ,
Nothin' you can do, but you can learn how to be you in time ,
All you need is love,
All you need is love, love ..

If anyone was to ask the bartender of the Broken Goblet , in what he thought about marriage? IF he wasn't fooling around and decided to give them his most sincere answer, he would tell them...

"Being someone’s first love may be great, but to be their last is beyond perfect."

Rubbles and Soot

Have yer seen it? The ol' Blackrose Fort? Talk about letting a home go to shite.

Aye, I seen it myself. Damn shame.

All the guards are gone too. Only a few squatters lingerin in there.

Wasn't that Heart woman Varina that had claim to it?

Aye she did, let the place go to shite she did.

The Black Abby was right, them Hearts just brining ruin to the North.

I say its that bloody turn coat Amos fault.

It's every bodies fault if yer ask me. The Blackrose, the Hearts, all of em.

Bet ya a round of ale the Bridge Fort next.

A keg!

Call!
Image
I use to think, the evil ones were the ones with evil intent in their hearts. In truth most are, however the worse ones are the ones that pat you on the back and offer hugs and smiles. Those are the ones more diabolical. A rat is a rat, a snitch a snitch, but the worse ones of them all are the snakes in the grass. Slithering their way to closeness and gaining your trust only to bite you with poisonous teeth in the end. The South often use the world treason when someone goes against their man made laws. But when someone lays out the hand of destruction using the image of the heavens, I ask what are they then?
"The guards are gone."

"Blame the Hearts."

"Look, there's someone over there.."

"Thus why Soubar getting agitated"

"Bloody Heart making things "better"

"I'll wait until your finish then. Dont feel comfortable leavin yer alone in this ..shite hole.."

"I've been here many times before and never felt threatened. In fact I would argue the crowd here is more friendlier than those in the Gate, though the lack of culture here doesn't entice me to remain longer than I have to .. neither do the drow that apparently pass through here. Apologies .. Bloody drow."

Sometimes I really wonder, if the world we assume to see, is nothing but a reversed image.

Back to Business

After nearly a tenday away from the Shore, the known bartender of the Broken Goblet returns. Leather boots step upon the wooden planks marching his way up the road towards the archway. He stopped a moment to take in the scent of Roaringshore.

"Hmm..me home. Guessin its time ta get back ta work. Now ta try and figurin' out how to bring in more bloody attraction."

but because he loves what is behind him.”

Image
It can be said war is a symptom of man's failure as a thinking animal, war must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all, but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend. Both sides of the conflict may feel just for their reasons, often times war are a misunderstanding. Other times, its simply and plainly aggression. When the bodies pile, I wonder which side will morn for the loss more.

Image

But regardless of the rumored war, I've no involvement but it is still in my interest. Because as a bartender of the Broken Goblet, it only means I will have patrons frequenting to speak of it, and by the bottle of rum, I love a good juicy rumor.

Piracy Hate, Piracy Love

“There are two circumstances that lead to arrogance,
one is when you're wrong and you can't face it;
the other is when you're right and nobody else can face it.”

Image

" See that's the difference in the Shore, we do what and whom and how we want ..freedom land luv ..tis all about that freedom. Nae prissy laws "

"I also do what I want ...and dont live with pirates it gets old fast."

"It does sound a little exciting to live among pirates, actually..."

"I'll stick to the gate It may be boring, but I like boring"

"I heard that the most important thing pirates try to find during their raids is cloth to fix the sails. Is that true?"

"Cant tell ya, I nae a pirate, but I"ll bring ya aboard my ship later, and yer can take a look yer self"

"That sounds exciting!"

"..and the trap is set..."

"Lovely."

Someone who smiles too much with you can sometime frown too much with you at your back. Ever experienced that? It's quite common really, and it happens nearly all the time and its everywhere. When the fun is going, many are around to carouse and celebrate along, wishing to be part of it all. But then when there's a turn of events, and the fun dulls but a moment, they are sudden gone. Gone and act as if they never was, nor ever there. It's piracy I blimey call it! When folks come around taking what they can without permission, indulged until what they wanted cease to be useful or what they wanted slips away from their grasp.

Image

There's always going to be people that likes pirates, and there's going to be people that hates them. But you know what? It's just like every other thing in the world. There's some folks I love being around, and there's some whom I'd rather see hanging and rotting until the crows pick at their decaying remains. When I heard of some pirate raid that happen but a day ago, I smirked and laugh and frown all at once. Remarkable I say.

"It started with the Flaming Fist calling for adventurers for an important and urgent mission...The Fist soldiers talked of a pirate raid that they had been warned about. On a smaller hamlet called Willem's Hill or something like that."

"Damned scallywags!"

"Wylen Hill? Something like it."

"The purpose of the adventurers they sought was to engage the pirates that had landed in the village and drive them off onto the ship. Once they'd leave the harbor the fleet would engage the vessel and sink them all...they had barricaded the entrance... pirates had stationed mages and archers on the walls, choice was to break through with force...took several attempts to make it inside and towards the village square were many of the pirates had gathered. They haven't saved a single building there from burning down... the pirates managed to break through the lines...several times. And... about that were-rat... they had to fall back and reorganize several times. Drag bodies back and heal their wounds until they came by again."

"Think its related to the High Captain stuff?"

"I think so, but not from the groups we're checking. I don't think any of the crew are wererats, and there's only one place as far as I know that you can find those. Well, two places."

"..in the end they succeeded in the mission... drove the pirates off and only saw the Balduran fleet chase the pirate ship until the smoke took view. Then the hired adventure's fled the village and the smoke before anything worse could happen."

"Curiously, there was even the Ebon Blade with their group."

"...Ah one of them groups that aren't welcome in the Lyre..it's mentioned on the sign at the entrance"

Image

I've worked at the Broken Goblet about a year now, and I can truly say one of the most ridiculous thing's I've ever seen, is not drunken stupidity, nor when someone's face gets smashed by my bruisers, nor is it when a woman punched a man and broke his nose. It's not even when there was a'lot of face sucking or even someone getting killed and fed to dogs. Nae....it's when I see would-be pirates, and pirate lovers, later turn pirate hunters. I am one man that will admit not everything in the Shore is savvy. I live with pirates, some that love me, some that like me, some that trust me, some that don't trust me, and even some waiting to hurt me.

But I'm still here...

“What's done is done. What's gone is gone.
One of life's lessons is always moving on.
It’s okay to look back to see how far you’ve come but keep moving forward.”

My mother told me...
Some day I would buy:
A galley with good oars;
Sail to distant shores.
Stand up on the prow...
Noble barque I steer...
steady course to the heaven...
Hew many foe-man.
Hew many foe-man.

Image

As I listen to my favorite song sung by a minstrel I consider a dear friend, I watch the patrons with their goblets in hand, their eyes focused no the performance. Even the pirates beyond the drinking area had cease their carouse to let the music flow into their souls. I'm no mage, but feeling this very atmosphere many times over during the previous year as I do now looking upon the Broken Goblet, I truly say what I see before me is magical. The only difference between this moment and all the rest, was the patrons.

And I'm still filling goblets...

Image

And I'm still getting new faces...

Image

"...I'll play this last one, so Sel will be happy. A song about him and a few other adventurers going to kill giants and demons."

"Oh, the best kind of song! A song about actual adventures!"

It's always refreshing when you meet a new face. Not to say faces of old are not welcoming. Somethings those are the ones that can spark a light within your chest. But when you meet a new face, that alone tells you something. That which we call our world, isn't ending no time soon. And when these new faces come to the Tavern known at the Broken Goblet, I simply cant wait to pour them a drink in one of our finest goblets made of blown glass that rests upon rare metal stems with unique engraves of a bellowing dragon or a rising Krakan breaking the ocean to sink a ship, or sometimes the ones with a more bawdy design.

Image

And they go so much better with me rum!

The Worst Kind of Red..

“No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons,
as I would not want to live in a world without magic,
for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith.”

Image

Red dragons, referred to by sages as draco conflagratio horribilis. They were covetous, evil creatures, interested only in their own well-being, vanity and the extension of their treasure hoards. They were supremely confident of their own abilities and were prone to making snap decisions without any forethought. In countless lands, they were considered the archetypal villainous dragon of legend and fable, exemplars of all their most notorious traits, and the red dragons thought so too.

Image

"As it turns out there is a group of mages who are building a tower on an island south of Candlekeep. A slanted tower, using telekinesis to build it in such a way that only arcanists can traverse it... or something like that. And when the dragon arrived it confirmed that it was basically... genuinely scared about that tower. It spoke that this tower would some day rival the power of the gods. That even the fiends would fear it. It planned to lay waste to the entire area to drive off those wizards."

"Blimey!"

"We were just trying to appease it, to make clear that we could help it."

"Guessin that didnt go well?"

"Goroth the Powerful was its name. A dragon from the Anauroch desert, apparently. Who had a reputation of aiding the nomads who lived there."

"We... almost got there, until when a woman showed up. The woman... started to taunt the dragon, immediately. Called it little, treated it like she was a little child who had become tired of caring for a helpless pet."

"Shes out her mind? Its a bloody red dragon!"

"That woman appears to be the leader of those wizards who are building the tower!"

"I believe some magical trick she pulled even allowed us to kill the dragon. She even made sure to loudly praise us, saying she had definitely found the area with the most powerful warriors."

If someone was to ask me what I knew about dragons, I'd probably tell them “They're big, scaly, four-legged creatures with wings who terrorized small villages until a virgin was offered up as a sacrifice oh and they hold a lot of treasures.” Thou I would miss the virgins. But seriously, I've faced several dragons in my human life span. And I can say, non was ever pleasant. But a red dragon scale would fetch a large sum of coins.

Image

But to be able to slay a big Red, now that's a feat. And a feat given to those that battled one near Candlekeep. The bold and brave, I tip my hat to them. For if it was I, I'd flee. Against a red Dragon? I'd take my chances with a drunken patron with a dagger in their hands, or a woman with a scorned heart. But that's just me.

Image

However nevertheless, it was interesting to hear the tales of the dragon and its defeat. Praise to people who deemed warriors and hero's. At least this time, they didn't fill the empty spots in graveyards. I'm no fan of playing hero myself. I for one would never risk my neck for the sake of honor or glory. I've been taught never to do anything for anyone for nothing. Because lying in the ground with a stone resting upon your head with your name, will get you nothing. If people don't even know you, then whos to shed tears for you, or sing tales of you, or drink in your name? That answer...no one.

Rioting Pirates!

*The bartender of the Broken Goblet had finally made his leave from the campfire along the Trade Way. His mind filled with tales and songs and laughter was soon fleet away the moment he stepped upon the docks of Roaringshore. The look of confusion, the shocking surprise, he glances around seeing the locals in a heated fight amongst each other. He cut a right and quickly ran up to the back entrance of the Broken Goblet to meet with Captain Pike and give him the heads up of what's taken place.*

Image

((DM Archon))

----------------------

*As the bartender went around to inspect the tavern to ensure there was no damages, because he really didnt want to deal with a pissed off Miss Jackie, he was pulled over by a few pirates that wanted to share with him a word. They would tell him..*

"Heard the talks about an outsider. There was a group who came in not long ago, one pirate in a blue vest said something about "That outsider". Mentioned something about "He's getting what's coming to him. Won't know until it's too late."

*The bartend would give a slow chin nod then instruct Sally to give a round of drinks on him. After he would head down the village through the back routes avoiding the high traffic area and brawling fights. Once he reached the dingy, he rowed himself to his ship to get to his safe where he started to pull out some equipment*

An array of wands..
Image

A few vials...
Image

A dagger he thought he would never have to use again..
Image

And one of his swords...

Image

*So it begins, very well then..lets have a bit of fun.*

Fallen

“Most have been forgotten. Most deserve to be forgotten.
The heroes will always be remembered.
The best. The best and the worst.
And a few who were a bit of both.”

Image

When a Knight has fallen from grace, honor and duty, the serpent of doubt slithers towards the opportunity in their weaken state to cloud the mind and judgement. Tugging at the fabrics of reasons and trying to fill the heart with doubt. I've never seen such a Knight until this day when a man of faith, insisted for a drink and ear. I had at first found it odd, but when a man needs an ear and a drink, the best thing you can do for them, is given them that drink and ear.

Image

"I dared say that I witnessed good people in Soubar as well as Sshamath."

"I am a man that can agree to that."

"My words were deemed to be heresy"

"Oh? Hersey? Is that why yer lost yer rank?"

"Aye, According to the Torm church, anything that comes up from the Underdark is evil"

"Well..part of me could agree to that."

"But I can't deny what my own eyes have seen. I am.. fallen from grace. The Torm priestess has declared it."

"Bugger"

"Well, I aint a man to pick sides really. I can like or hate the doings of either side really. I mean lets speak honest here like men over a bar. Theres good and bad on both side of the coin. I've met folks in the Gate I can call bloody evil. And I have met folks in the North I can call good souls. Far as the Underdark..well..let just say in my own experience, I nae trust anythin that comes from down there. But wont mean I will write em off at first sight."

"My instincts say that I should judge a person by their actions, not their species, within reason."

"Far as what happen to ya, I think that aint rightfully fair. You were tasked with something, and you gave your report or opinion. They should have trusted yer word as a man of faith and duty. Let me be honest, before I started workin in here, the sight of drows was merely they die or I die. But since working here and the boss says any and all is welcome, I had to accept them as patrons ..and want to know something? I still aint trust em, but they were no different than some I met in the Gate. Curious bunch in our culture, hells I offered them drinks from down in their world, but they wanted to drink what we drink. But your right..yer judge a man by his soul and heart. Not by where they from. I met some folks in here I would never come near before working here. Guess what? Some turned out to be very good folks that even watched by back. And some of the ones from the South whom I would think have my back...suddenly kept their distance just cause I choose to work here. Yer soul search'n? I tell ye, follow what yer heart be tellin ya. Often times, it tell yer right."

"You're not bad, Sel."

"Dont get me wrong, there be folks out there that the world be better off without them. But folks like that, I seen from both the North and South."

Image

As I look upon this man and see clearly his disturbed and conflicting soul, I couldn't help but wonder...what is it really like to live the live of a Knight. And my thoughts concluded when another serious question came to mind.

What path will this Knight now follow? Will he follow his heart?

or...

Will the serpent grasp a hold of him and lead him to someplace dark?

Fulfilled

“In order to live a fulfilled life, do not focus on the size of your audience;
focus instead on leaving an impact on the circle of influence the Gods has given you.”

Image

There's no feeling like the thrill of victory, a quest completed, a task done. Men and woman who had embarked on a quest filled with trials and tribulations along the journey will always be faced to make a choice that can never be undone. What will it be? The right one or the wrong one? The good one or the bad one? Everybody makes a choice with thoughts of what the gain could be. How it will benefit them. Sometimes however, they make a choice because they had no choice. When fate balances your only choices before you, and you don't see a way to win, it will be your biggest test.

Image

The man stood high on the crows nest with closed eye's. He listen's to the ocean waves breaking, the howling of the strong winds the cry's of gulls high above. His mind raced with thoughts and choices. He had an ultimate one to make, one that will come at a cost no matter what he decided. He thought of how he could turn the choice or manipulated to his advantage, because there was no way to prevent the cost. The stars didn't aligned so, or perhaps it was the gods mockery or some sick game they put in play. A sacrifice would have to be made, and he thought to himself..
"I'll be damn if it's me."

Image

People who take a long view of their lives and careers always seem to make much better decisions about their time and activities than people who give very little thought to the future. Sometimes the hardest decisions are only meant to be made because a better purpose is waiting. Closing one door to walk through another doesn't mean goodbye. It means believing in yourself and intuition to create your best self in the unknown.

*You've used me long enough, but now its my turn.*

The Race is Still on!
"What kind o' man am I?
Me boots be wet from sail'n,
Me blade be wet from necks I slit,
Me lips be wet from der rum me gets,
A pirate is what I be."

Image

I've seen all sorts of folks come into the tavern known as the Broken Goblet that's located up the hill in the nestle village called Roaringshore. Often times I'm intrigued with what walks in the front door. But never have I been more intrigued then last night, and this time it was I that was walking in the Goblet. The smoke fill tavern that had the smell of stale ale was alive with the most frequent and common patrons. A known minstrel and her wife kept the boys entertained with music. But just as I had arrived, two other pirate crews soon entered. And both crews were in the race for High Captain. I must say, things just got interesting.

Image

The first one was a crew more typical to the likes of Roaringshore. Rowdy, brutal. The Captain a man who gets the job done. A good trait even I can admire. Words of raids and plunder and squealing cries where their topic. As I held conversations with the Captain of the Tyrhang Reaver's I could tell very well just why the High Admiral would favor him.

Image

The second crew that came in was far more different. His attire shows a man wanting to be more civil. A man who might believe in a cause, a man with morals. By the look of his own crew mates it was clearly seen he's one with opinions. But the question is, is he the sort of pirate the High Captains could respect? It was told he stopped the recent riot in Roaringshore. Was the man that much respected? Did he have such an influence? Or was it because he was merely a Captain of a crew? What ever the case maybe..the tension in the Goblet grew that moment.

Nord Wincott: "How's your clean little coat, eh? Not eaten by moles yet?"

Dante Evenwood: "My clothes are in perfect shape, thank you for asking, Wincott."

Nord Wincott: "You should ditch the race while you still have a name to yourself, Evenwood. We score big and fast. You? Nothing your crew did is even whispered, less of all spoken of."

Dante Evenwood: "Fate can be a fickle mistress, as I am sure you know. Being chased off and losing haul to Flaming Fist navy sure must've ruffled you a bit."

Nord Wincott: *Spits to the side*

Dante Evenwood: "That's my cue." *reaches for the bottle*

Nord Wincott: *Grabs Dante by his wrist*

Sel: "Easy gents.." *He smiled and spoke calmly* "I know you all racing fer the seat, but in here keep the physical stuff down in the pit eh? Do respect the owners rules..Miss Jackie likes her furniture and glass."

Dante Evenwood: *Wrestles his arm out of the man's grasp, but it's evident that Wincott allowed for that to happen*

Nord Wincott: "Don't worry your stubble, Barkeep. I don't piss in the bed I sleep in."

Rose Wintertal: *She tips her hat to the trio.* "Always a pleasure, Tyrhang Reavers. Wish you fortune in your future endeavors. *As she walked away from the counter.*

Teris Layot: "Luck is for the weak!"

Mathilde Wintertal: *She looks between the people gathered at the table, smiling faintly.* "Captain Evenwood - I would like to thank you for calming down the riot in our town! Have a round on the Run a Rig!"

Sel: *He points a shaking finger at Mattie and yelled out* "I tak'n yer coins for that one miss thighs!" *He grins*

Mathilde Wintertal: *She grinned at Sel's comment*

Many of times people ask me why do I work in the Broken Goblet?

They just dont seem to understand how much I enjoy the place and consider it fun to my liking. After all, this is how things are in the Shore.

Hunted

Few days ago....

A scroll was held, the written incantations read aloud and soon a dead form looked up with milky pale dilated eye's. Another set of eyes cold and angry stared at the ghastly decomposing figure before asking three questions and only three were allowed. The decomposing figure gave its answers to each questions with a grim truth in a harsh ghostly tone that could send chills up a mans spine.

Image

"How many of your friends want my neck?"
"Thirteeeeeen last counted. Maybe moooore."

"Why you all want me dead?"
"Captain Glasstauge didn't like you getting between him and his profits on elvessss."

"How can we identify your friends that want me dead?"
"You never caaaan. They all look different, and there are new ones every day."

Thirteen of them and possibly more, this might go on long.
Captain Glasstauge now I got a name, he needs to be rid of.
And they all look like one of the locals, cant risk attacking the wrong ones.

As the bartender worked diligently cleaning the floor behind the bar of the Broken Goblet, his mind wondered with many thoughts. Plots plans were among them. But he let out a shallow whisper..

"All this, for vouching for an elf. Very well, let the fun begin but this time, I wont underestimate them"
