A tiefling in blue robes bearing the symbols of Candlekeep would approach the settlement, escorted by an elderly half orc with a perpetual scowl. The tiefling would look weary, on the verge of panic at any sudden movement or noise. She would pointedly keep away from rocks when possible.
The duo would visit the House of the Guardian asking for Watcher Wai Li and Commander Haven. A missive is left there to their attention. After the scribe retired for the night, the warrior could be observed exchanging a few words with Watcher Wai Li. The duo would depart towards Candlekeep on the following morning.

After being asked for a favor, a man traveled to Neshkal to make a visit to the House of the Guardian in search for a Helmite to deliver a message. He entered the Temple however not seeing any one who could be of assistance. He turned and made his leave outside only to speak with one of the Amnian Soldier to inquire about their whereabouts. A few mere moments later, and leaving the Soldier his name, he headed for the nearest tavern looking frustrated and grumbling under his breath.

In Nashkel, a trader recently restored to consciousness claimed that he witnessed something alongside the sky falling; a Cloud Peaks avalanche and a burly, surly half-orc tearing a chunk of stone out of the ground, propping himself against it, and using it as a makeshift barrier to prevent the both of them from being swept away by the rushing snow - All while meteors fell around them.

It is said that the Everwatch in recent days as well as friends in the Vanguard, Triadic Knights, and Order of the Silver Rose marched from Nashkel in Amn to Baldur's Gate and back along the Trade Way, with some joining for the entirety of the march or segments when available, under the banner of Helm and other faiths of those present. The March of Vigil it was termed took place during the current tenday in a show of vigilance given the current chaos of the Time of Troubles.

At times the March of Vigil company it is rumored halted to deal with hostiles on the Trade Way or to offer divine casting services such as healing or remove curse as Helmite divine spellcasters that by good fortune still are able to call upon the divine magic at the behest of Helm when it is seemingly not so currently from the other gods of the realms as well as non-magical healing and other services of aid to passersby.

As the populace returned to Nashkel after the start of these Troubled Times, a child is seen trying to sell a heavily burnt, brimmed leather hat for a piece of gold or two with a wandering trader outside the town. The merchant is rather perplexed, but ultimately sympathetic, paying the child enough gold for a hearty meal. As he reaches to toss the ruined hat away behind a nearby rock, he stops - noticing what seems like a badge pinned to it's front. Rubbing the soot from the front of it and squinting somewhat at it, he's able to make out the insignia of the Whitewood Vanguard. He calls out before the child wanders out of sight. "Hey, hold up there, kid! Where'd you get this?"

"There was a man who was taken by the lightning out by Uldoon's Trail, sir, by some old wrecked house in a field. I figured he didn't need it no more since he went flying away along with the wizard who threw all that magic about. Don't think the skeletonman knew what he was doing though since it went everywhere. So did they!" The child speaks as he looks down in wonder at the pieces of gold held in his small hands, cupped around the small metal discs promising a day void of hunger.

The man stands there, still squinting as he stares at the child. Surely a tall tale, children have such powerful imagination after all. "Right. Off you go then. Stay where the guard can see you, eh?"

The child walks off into town without giving an answer, eliciting a dismayed grunt from the merchant who is left staring down at the partially melted metal badge for a moment before he loosens it from the hat. Turning it about in his hand he notices inscriptions on it's back. He mutters out "Now who in the hells might you be, "Derien"?" He muses before setting the pin onto the large pack on his back.

As word spreads that a series of tornados spontaneously appeared in the middle of Nashkel - reports of high property damage and trees being broken; a small group of eclectic travellers and residents were thrust into a situation that required immediate action. Caught in the center of the storm in Nashkel, the group saw to shelter for the patrons of the Belching Dragon, using its basement for cover as wind passed overhead.

Cast of Characters:
Gaven Arkalis - Paladin of the Triad
Alexander Marshall - Paladin of the Triad
Maevyn Edgar - Bardess of the Whitewood Vanguard
Thok - Muscled Half-orc
Yuri Lichelina - Mithril-clad and ready to assist!
Jak Dimburrow - Eyes and ears, in hin-sized package

The group set about securing the area after the storm - setting up triage for lesser wounded within the Belching Dragon, and taking those with major injuries to the Temple of Helm. Jak's size utilized to locate and rescue any found injured beneath rubble, as Thok and Yuri worked hand-in-hand to clear debris and ensure every building was thoroughly checked. Gaven Arkalis spearheaded triage and escorting. Sending them to the small set-up Alexander and Maevyn manned at the tavern, or carrying those unable to the Temple of the Guardian to ensure treatment. Maevyn's bardic talents were on display to soothe the lesser injured as Alexander Marshall, using healing kits provided by Thok, treated any injury sent to the tavern for assistance.

Others appeared to help as they found the area's state; Michael and Peaches Swift amongst those whom came to investigate and assist.

After expansive effort - Gaven Arkalis and Alexander Marshall, as representatives of the yet-unbuilt Southern Church of the Triad would seek the Mayor of Nashkel to offer further aid, with building damage and rebuilding. Maevyn Edgar in tow. Her expansive knowledge of structures and architecture offered up in service. Her Whitewood Vanguard pin marking her as offering official assistance to Nashkel once again.
Alexander Marshall - Faith, Family, Farming
Fear "Duty is the tie that binds hearts, in service to eachother."
Kordren Ivatrix - Lost to the Shadows
The"Perhaps I have... miscalculated."
Aelrynn Valdrick - A Sacrifice for Vultures
Flames"Was I a hero, Mam?"

On the eve of Mystra's death, an odd couple can be seen roaming around Nashkel: A sooty, bloodied tiefling with short orange hair, whose tattered outfit was every bit as dirty as the rest of her, and a dark, well-armoured man recognisable to some as a Bedine.

Upon first arriving in the village from the north, they venture westward towards the duergar-occupied iron mines, only for the tiefling to return later, struggling to drag the badly wounded Bedine towards the Helmite temple while the considerable cuts in her own flesh knit themselves together of their own accord. Healing potions are used to keep him alive long enough to reach the temple, where the Helmites might report she experienced noticeable discomfort while insisting they save her companion's life: A fidgety, nervous thing, she kept scratching herself as if battling a terrible itch, and only started to return to her normal self after the duo reemerged from the temple.

After a long-overdue bath at the local inn, the two would retire to the so-called "yellow suite", and would not emerge for the rest of the night...

An armored man, his face largely concealed by a hood, emerges from the trail leading in from the Uldoon Trail into Nashkel. He stops in his tracks, noticing a certain travelling merchant in the morning hours and stops him before his departure on a caravan to leave the region. He asks in a gruff, gravely voice what the price for the badge pinned on his pack would be.

"Oh, this?" The trader undoes the battered thing from his pack, holding it up to the light as he considers. "Well, it's been through a lot. I don't think there'd be a whole lot to do with this other than smelt it down, nor do I think I'd be able to get a whole lot more than a few coins for this. 50 gold ought to do it."

The armored man simply produces the requested amount. After the trade he adds "Worth a fair bit more than that to me, that's for sure, my good fellow. Won't ask how you got it. I know how it is.". He too holds it up to look it over it's surfaces, gleaming in the light of the morning sun. His hood droops back slightly and as he does, the partially melted, eyeless left side of his face now becomes visible to the merchant, who cringes away somewhat at the sight.

"Err.. I might have something for you, good sir! Feast your eyes- Uh.. Eye on this!" The merchant fumbles as much with his words as he does with his pack, eventually managing to pull out a leather eyepatch.

The one-eyed rugged looking man stares at the eyepatch and the increasingly uncomfortable merchant for a few moments before he finally nods. "Aye, hells with it. I'll take it. The little one back home might bloody faint if he sees me like this." He mutters, producing further amounts of gold to pay for it, after which he pulls the hood back completely and straps the eyepatch on, taking a moment to carefully adjust it.

"Thank you kindly for your business, good sir. Ah.. If it's not too much to ask, what.. happened with?.." He vaguely gestures towards the armored man's face. The man's attention lies elsewhere at first however, the one eye finding itself looking down at the back of the upturned badge in his hand again, at the inscribed name. He shakes himself out of his state and quietly clears his throat.

"Godsdamned fookin' wizards and their bloody nonsense, mate." He grunts out to the merchant before walking off down the hill into the main road leading through the town. He pulls off the hood entirely, tossing it into a nearby trashbin as he moves by - his clear disfigurement eliciting responses from the passing townspeople in the ways of averted eyes, shock and dismay as they steer clear of his path.

A woman in purple dress and matching hat can be seen hanging flyers around Nashkel and Greenest. She would greet each she saw with a warm and welcoming smile, humming while she walks with a bounce in her step.

A peasant speaks in a hushed tone in a local tavern about having seen an eerie-looking tiefling woman clad in dark leather armor travelling on the outskirts of Nashkel in the early morning hours, whispering harshly to herself as she hurries on her way. Upon leaving the territory of the town, she is suddenly flanked by some manner of planar animal. The peasant swears up and down that they spoke to eachother before disappearing towards the east. The notion of talking animals earns him ridicule and disbelief by this drinking partners, who simply laugh it all off as another tall tale.

In the late morning, a large group of armed soldiers and several richly dressed officials come to Nashkel through the Cloud Peaks pass. Their apparent leader, introducing himself as Hieron Ampbel, had organised a meeting in front of Mayor Ghastkill's house. During it, he had spoken the following proclamation:

"By order of the Council of Six, I, Hieron Ampbel, Herald and High Judicator ordained into the newly formed office by their great wisdom, hereby declare that all practitioners of arcane magic- commonly referred to as the Art- are henceforth criminals. The organisation known to everyone as the "Cowled Wizards" has been found to be a malicious cabal with deeply rooted goals of subverting the Council of Six's legitimate and widely-approved government for their own vile ends. As such, in light of the current events involving the Weave as a whole being unpredictable and more dangerous than ever before, the Cowled Wizards are facing total extermination as we speak.

Anyone who is found aiding or protecting any mages- especially those belonging to that dangerous cabal- will be summarily exiled or executed. In order to ensure proper adjustment to the new reality in Amn and its Border Baronies, my colleagues, my retinue and myself have been sent here to help and ensure a smooth transition to the new form of law-keeping. The local contingent of guards will have selected individuals specifically trained in hunting down and combating any practitioner of the Arcane magic- including monsters and people known for deep magical traditions.

I wish to express my deepest gratitude to Mayor Ghastkill for being a generous host for the duration of the transition for which we will remain here.

Glory to Amn and the Council of Six!"
Although the tiefling had previously been wandering primarily in and around Nashkel, it doesn't take her long to vacate the village after the announcement. A few of the locals might notice her assuming the form of a pixie and flying downriver to complicate pursuit.

Prisoners were escorted to their execution along the dusty road skirting the Cloudpeaks.

A woman was killed when she stepped in front of a wagon.

An explosion later shook the road, some say a new record was set as debris landed eighty feet away, others deny the claim though, saying that the record is actually eighty-seven and was recorded as such out past Soubar two years ago.

The stretch of 'no man's land' between Beregost and Nashkel, an expanse of several miles, saw its middle point turn into a battleground the past eve.

A gathering of knights, scouts, troops, magi, and volunteers set up on the roadside, and later converged on a point as many magi, a great many of which were obvious devil or demon summoners and necromancers arrived at a campsite along the road's edge, their foul minions in tow.

What started as words broke out into full conflict as members of the Church of the Triad, the Whitewood Vanguard, the Bladestone Foundation, and other individuals fought against the necromancers, which included at least one proud Banite, and a Bhaalist. Hordes of undead were summoned and thrown against the living soldiers, and any semblance of plan turned to chaos as magic crackled, sizzled, or sometimes warped or failed entirely.

There was some question as to what drew the necromancers to the site to begin with, with some talk of a secretive meeting of magi, or perhaps some nefarious plot by the necromancers to subvert Amn and its recent banishment or execution of mages.

Too, the confusion stretched into the conflict's aftermath, as after the necromancers were slain, members of the Bladestone appeared quite upset, and departed the company of knights and mercenaries.

A signpost is stuck just outside the north entrance in Nashkel.
To arcane spellcasters,

We Everwatch have priority in the safety of the lands and its citizens, thus we inform you or remind you that, in Amnian territory, beginning south at Nashkel, arcane spellcasters must register themselves as such to High Judicator Hieron Ampbel in Nashkel, as the new laws are severe about magic of the Art in Amn.

If need be, contact either Mayor Ghastkill to lead you to the registration centre, or contact someone in charge at the temple of the Guardian in Nashkel to help you with your inquiries.

Helm protect you
At the bottom of the text is a stample of a back of a gauntlet with an eye in the middle of it.
