Rumor has it that another of the temple's regular visitors has taken an interest in the girl, as well. Thus far only an uninvited interloper, the half-elven sorceress Aela had at one point snuck into a gathering deeper within the temple, and seemed both impressed by the child's talents and deeply sympathetic and worried about her plight.

However, though she shares her concerns openly with those she met in that gathering, she seems keenly aware her opinion clashes with that of the Mystrans around her. Already thinking herself in an unfavorable position after her intrusion, Aela does not bother asking to see the little sorceress in person; but there is hardly any doubt that she is displeased with what she witnessed from the Mystrans in particular, or that her inaction is not a sign of disinterest...

Neela issues a formal announcement.
The Church of Mystra will not be allowing further visitations to the child Brienne without express approval from myself or a ranking member of the Church. As Brienne's registered guardians, the Church of Mystra reserves the right to refuse and rescind visitation for any reason. Brienne is a child in need of careful guidance, protection, and mentorship. Unless there is some critical need to be addressed, we will not allow strangers to come disturb this child's care.

The Church of Mystra will not approve any visitation whose purpose is solely for any non-familial member of the general public to "get to know Brienne." Nor will the Church of Mystra approve any visitation that it believes is not appropriate for Brienne's wellbeing.

Word has it, that there will be an important event soon. Only the next day, Priestess Neela will perform an Ordaining!

So it might be wise to keep any requests to church members and the guests of this event for another time after. Still it is just good manners to -not- disturb ceremonies of this kind. Members of the temple, and their friends and partners and other peaceful guests are of course welcome. It is just asked to help let the event go as smoothly as possible, still it happens under the eyes of the godess herself...

((OOC: Sorry for the late notice, but it's just a small event for my character's development in agreement with DM Abyss.
I simnply figured i'd give some people a chance to attend.
Please refrain from any kind of attention seeking or actions that lure people away, who actually would like to take part. This friendly request goes out to other DMs and players, both.

The event will only last for around 2 hours - at most, starting tomorrow, Friday at 19.30 GMT/21.30 GMT+2/14.30 EST/11.30 AM PST.

My time is limited due to RL, thank you for the understanding. ;) ))

A gathering of a few invited and some merely curious were seen within the Temple of Mystra.

Rumours spread that a small miracle was witnessed within, and a female figure was seen flying first around the temple in the rafter and then flying into the sky.

Rumours are that a large group of Mystrans, Adventurers and one particular elf who dirtied the magnificent rug within the Temple of Mystra were heard having a loud discussion.
Image
Some Candlemark later many more were seen leaving in small separate groups, going to only the gods know where.

Outside the Temple of Mystra a gathering of couriers are seen being handed various pieces of parchment.

Image

Shortly after this moment many of them are seen heading out of the city proper, some heading north, some south and some to destinations unknown.

Rumours have it that a large presence was seen within the temple of Mystra.

Some strange words are being spread. Another rumour is that some people leaving the meeting later in the evening were talking about some odd contraption that managed to trap an apple in a net.

Perhaps a lot of alcohol was being served during the meeting?

Yesterday Sirion appeared in the temple to talk to Lady of Mystery Neela Daren, about how Althalous Fenwick was hiding in a tent in the Greenfields with an orb that may blow up the moment he let go of it. After some hours to prepare, Sirion returned once more to teleport Acolyte Aurin to the old man, and the old man back to the temple.

So leaving Acolyte Aurin to hide in a tent in the Greenfields with an orb that may blow up the moment she let go of it.

A day later Sirion again teleported into the temple, this time alongside five others; Nathan and Ashenie from the Church of Ilmater as well as Deirde and a heavily armored helmeted man carrying a dead body. Blood spatter here and there on their armors, the Elf's robe in particular.

Lady of Mystery Neela Daren questioned their sudden appearance and, after brushing the armored man out of the temple with a broom stick, restored the dead body to life. Words were had - less so from a subdued Nathan - and the crowd eventually dispersed.

A messenger on horseback arrives from the North-East roads to Baldur's Gate. Leaving steed at stables in the Farmlands, the courier bears no items or gear, but intent: he asks of any directions to the Temple of Mystra, of which he directly arrives once his feet carry him that far.

Entering the temple, the youthful deliverer stands at first idle, overwhelmed with the sight that must affect one who's eyes only know the simple country life. Once the messenger does eventually lays eyes upon the Priestess near the altar, he hurries to her to relay a message for the Temple congregants.

A life for a life; a soul for a soul. The price is paid, and the slow-running tragedy binding together the fates of Castus the Fallen and Aela Lathyaan has come to its end at last.

On the battlefields of the north, the fallen mage escaped the Unravelers' annihilation by correctly deducing that the loss of Castus' powers meant the end of the half-celestial's crusade, and devoted her attention solely to saving the life and soul of her adoptive brother. In this, she succeeded in full, drawing him into the relative safety of the Mystran lines while her fellow cultists rejected her pleas and threw their lives away in battle. When the Mystrans won... Castus was saved, and taken to their temple to recover.

But his salvation came at a price.

Whether by chance or foresight, Aela's presence among the Unravelers was only possible because she had come to wholeheartedly believe in their cause: that a world touched by the gods was a world of tragedies vast and unpredictable alike; that the end of the Weave, and of divine meddling, would make for a better world. As she waited patiently in the Mystran temple on the faint hope that she might see her brother again, this blasphemous belief was driven out into the open by her visitors, to the outrage of the goddess' servants.

A challenge was issued: A duel she could never hope to win, with no allies present that might effectively fight in her defense. Or a trial in the courts of one of the very gods she had conspired to overthrow, a trial whose outcome seemed certain from the outset. Choosing the quicker way out, the young half-elf was quickly slain after a round of tearful farewells and apologies to those few who had come to see her off, dying with Castus' name on her lifeless lips and his face in her final fleeting thoughts.

And so it was that in saving Castus from the horrors that awaited him in the Wall of the Faithless, she had damned herself to take his place instead. Can there still be any hope, any reprieve for this troubled soul? Or has she served her purpose, and been discarded like the broken tool that she is? Will she have completed in death the task she failed in life, and returned the fallen paladin to his mistress' service?

Only the gods may know...

Samuel, a monk of Kwan Ying, approaches Neela Daren and inquires about any teleportation services the church might offer. He explains that he wishes to return to Thesk as soon as possible to help defend his home against the Tuigan Horde's invasion. Samuel tells Neela that he would be happy to come back to the church after Neela has had time to inquire among the mages and members of the church.

For a night and day, the Bladesinger Elyssa Symbaern would have been seen by the acolytes and priests, inside the more restrictive part of the temple, having presumably spent the night in full.

After Laethelas and Rivka investigated the grisly sight on the Uldoon Trail, the young ethran would bring their findings to the Temple of Mystra - along with the word of the specific blaspheming found, of the Lady of Mysteries. They describe the fine, black horses head, impaled in a field, and the note found pinned in elegant hand beneath. Rivka would also detail her attempts to divine the nature of any magic cast there, if any - though she regretfully informs the clergy that her Detect Magic sense and her own expertise were very unhelpful. The magics, if any were worked at all, were far too subtle for her skills.

Rivka remains a time at the Mystran temple, scouring the Library for any mention of magics or rituals like what she saw out on the Trail.

When Sirion paid one of his infrequent visits to the temple, unusually, he headed straight for the Scrying Chamber holding one sock in his hand. There he remained for a while scrying and scrying again. He tried the mirror and, for good measure, the other mirror as well. He tried the crystal ball. He even went to fill a pitcher and pour water into the fountain, to try again. With each increasing attempt, the wizard's grumblings grew to rival even the caretaker's constant snore that hung over the temple like the wards of Candlekeep. In the end some sendings were cast, and the wizard took off.
